My Youth Began With Him

“Can you go see President Su…”

Huo Mian didn’t respond.

“Ever since your husband came back, President Su hasn’t been in a good mood. He hasn’t been in the office for days… I think he was just too shocked. He treated you and the twins like his family over the past few years and now, you guys all left him… I’m just afraid that he can’t handle it all and won’t be able to recover…”

“I’ll take care of this. Don’t worry. I won’t leave him hanging.”

Even if An didn’t say anything, Huo Mian wouldn’t ignore Su Yu, even though she had set things straight the other day.

However, Huo Mian knew he understood the reason, just like everyone else, but it wasn’t easy to let his feelings go like they never happened.

An had been by Huo Mian’s side the last three years, and he had built a very firm and deep relationship with her.

However, he still cared about his past employer. Normally, An wouldn’t say much but this time, he personally begged Huo Mian to go see Su Yu. It was a rather rare occasion.

“Thank you, President Huo.”

“You don’t need to thank me, An… All these years, you’ve been by my side supporting me… It means a lot to me.”

“No worries at all. I’m just fulfilling my duties.”

“You’ve been by me and my daughters’ side, protecting and helping us… I’m really grateful for all you’ve done… But I don’t think I can hold you guys down. Initially, I thought I’d deal with this after finishing all the work I have now, but since you mentioned it today, I’ll explain to you my thoughts: I hope you can return to Su Yu’s side so you can protect and be with him. For him, you aren’t just an ordinary bodyguard and assistant… You’re like his friend.”

“What about you?” An furrowed his brows a bit.

“I have Bella… In terms of bodyguards, I’ll figure something out… I think Su Yu needs someone by his side right now.”

“Then… you should tell President Su yourself because he won’t agree to this otherwise.”

When An said he wanted to return to Su Yu’s side, Su Yu didn’t allow it because he was scared Huo Siqian would harm Huo Mian.

“Okay. I’ll talk to Su Yu alone later.”

“Okay. I’ll let you get back to work then, President Huo.”

“Thanks.” Huo Mian nodded.

After An left the room, Huo Mian picked up her phone…

She opened her WeChat moments and saw Su Yu’s post from last night.

“I’ve listened to countless lectures on life, but my life is still a mess.”

When Huo Mian saw his post, she felt very bitter inside.

Su Yu wasn’t usually this negative…

He was always an optimistic, confident, and high-profile person.

He could get whatever he wanted, whether it was money, power, status…

Not only did he have money and power, he was also good-looking… Still, he was expressing that his life was not fulfilled.

Such words would arouse anger from ordinary people…

Huo Mian let out a sigh… She really needed to find a good time to check up on Su Yu.

She couldn’t just let him wither…

Right then, her phone rang and it was Qin Chu video calling her.

Qin Chu kept his old number. It had been a while since Huo Mian saw the number and it made her reminisce about the past, which made her heart warm and fuzzy.

“Honey…” Huo Mian immediately sounded like a young girl in love when she saw Qin Chu.

“Darling, have you had lunch yet?”

“Not yet… The meeting went over a bit.”

“Are you tired?”

“No, I’m used to this already. What are you guys doing?”

“Pudding, Little Bean, and I were at Ah-Xin’s Ramen for lunch.”

“You guys went to Ah-Xin’s Ramen without me… I’m sad.” Huo Mian now was actually jealous of her own daughters and pouted cutely.

“Oh my god… I’ve never seen Mommy like that… She’s creepy…” Little Bean was shocked speechless by her mom’s expression as she watched from the side.
