My Youth Began With Him

”Pudding, why the sudden question?” Qin Chu didn’t answer immediately, realizing that he couldn’t treat Pudding like a toddler since she was way too smart.

”I’ve been thinking about this for a while… Mommy wasn’t going to have a baby with someone else when you were away, so I never asked her. But now that you’re back, it seems like it’s going to happen really soon. So, by asking first I can prepare myself mentally…”

Qin Chu: ”…”

”Sis, you’re thinking too much, aren’t you worried about nothing?” Little Bean said with noodles in her mouth.

”What do you know? It’s called prepping before the storm. If I’m like you and don’t prepare myself until things happen, life’s going to suck… If you’re in an imperial harem TV show, Little Bean, you’re going to die after the first episode…”

”I won’t, I’ll at least live until half-way through the show…” Little Bean refuted, unwilling to admit defeat.

Qin Chu was completely speechless; what in the world was this?

”Pudding… would it be okay if Mommy and I had another child?” Qin Chu probed.

After some thought, Pudding slowly answered, ”I don’t really care, it’s not like I’m a single child right now anyways, so it’s not going to make much of a difference.”

”She’s right, Daddy. We won’t care if there’s an extra sheep in the herd. But Daddy, if we’re okay with you having another kid, can you be okay with us bullying that kid?” Little Bean asked.

Once again, Qin Chu was at a loss for words; his daughters were really something else! They magnanimously said that it was okay for them to have another child, but they had to be okay with them bullying that child…

What kind of godlike logic was that?

”Daddy, why aren’t you saying anything? Is my question that hard to answer?” Little Bean asked.

”No, I was thinking… I can’t be the only one who wants a third kid, your mommy has to agree too… Plus, having kids isn’t easy, fate plays a really important role as well. It took Mommy a long time to become pregnant with the two of you, so… it’s too early to say,” Qin Chu explained patiently.

”But Daddy, you didn’t answer my question yet,” Pudding added.

”Ahem, um, Pudding, truth be told, Daddy wants more children. I love your mom too much and would have an entire soccer team if I could… but that’s not up to me to decide, right? If Mommy’s conditions don’t allow her to have another kid, then I wouldn’t want to put her through that pain again, right?”

”Fine, you pass… but if you end up having another kid, you can’t be biased against them, okay?”

”Yeah, Daddy, if you’re biased against the youngest one, we’ll be sad. Then, the consequences are going to be dire…”

Qin Chu wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry at Little Bean’s threat…

”But we should be fine. My IQ is not going to lose to our younger sibling’s…” Pudding was confident in herself, and she didn’t think her parents would ignore her even if they had more children.

”Does IQ matter? You’ve got to be kidding me… Being amiable is more important, no? I’m so cute and ditzy, I’m the one everyone likes,” Little Beanrefuted, extremely sure of her own charms.
