My Youth Began With Him

“If he dares to hurt Huo Mian again, I will destroy him, even if it means that I’ll go down with him.”

Su Yu words were simply a reflex…

So, he didn’t feel awkward until after the fact…

After all, it was weird for him to speak so straightforwardly in front of so many people…

“Ahem… that’s right. Nowadays, Young Master Su is probably the only one who has the ability to deal with that psycho, Huo Siqian…” Tang Chuan grabbed Su Yu’s shoulder and smirked.

“Come on, let’s go to the NICU and have a look at the beautiful twins.” Jiang Xiaowei led the crowd and walked out, leaving Huo Mian alone in her room with her mom.

“I am going to make you some soup, and you’d better lie down and rest.” Yang Meirong looked at her daughter.

“Okay, thanks, Mom.” Huo Mian didn’t know the greatness of being a mother until she went through childbirth.

To have been pregnant for eight months and then to give birth in one day… it was not as simple as it sounded.

Only those who had tried it would understand how hard it was… Everybody says that you won’t know your parents well enough until you are raising your own child, and Huo Mian was now deeply aware of it.

She also knew now how hard it must have been for her mother to raise Zhixin and her by herself.

Just when Huo Mian was about to lie down, she heard her phone ring…

It was actually a video call…

“Brat! What time is it over there? Why aren’t you asleep?” Huo Mian looked at Zhixin and smiled lightly.

“Sis… Where are my nieces? Let me take a look at them,” Zhixin said as soon as he saw his sister’s face…

Right after Huo Mian gave birth, Yang Meirong called Zhixin and told him the news over the phone, leading the latter to lose all interest in studying.

His head was filled with his sister’s beautiful little twin girls.

“Ha, they are being kept in the NICU for now. They’re underweight, so they are not free to move around right now.”

“Who do they look like? You or like my brother-in-law? Or does one look like you and the other one look like my brother-in-law?”

“How should I know? They are still too small to tell… Only after they are one-month-old will their facial structures take shape…” Huo Mian didn’t know whether to laugh or to cry.

“Haha, I feel so happy whenever I think of myself as an uncle… I really wish I could fly back and see them immediately.”

“What’s the hurry. After the twins are one month old and I fully recover, I plan on moving out of Su Yu’s house. If your workload isn’t heavy, you can always fly back, and we’ll be able to see each other again! Mom’s been worried about you ever since she came back, saying how you couldn’t eat well over there… There’s not as much food in New Zealand as there is back home. Even if you do sometimes manage to buy them, they don’t taste the same…”

“Mom is always thinking of me… I miss you and Mom so much… Sis… you just gave birth, so you must be very weak. Do eat something good… Ask Mom to cook something delicious for you, like fish soup or pig-hock soup”.

“Okay.”

“Take care of yourself, and don’t catch a cold… I heard that if a woman gets sick right after she gives birth, it’ll relapse later in life…”

“Zhixin, you’re rambling. Don’t forget that your sister is a doctor… you don’t need to remind me about all this, and stop fussing like an old woman, will you? You are turning into Mom… Is this something a man should be worried about? Ha.” Huo Mian didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at her brother’s concerns.

“I’m saying all this for your own good, okay? Sis, you need to be more grateful…” Zhixin said.

“Ha… Zhixin, do you have any new romantic interests in New Zealand? Tell me about them…”

“No, not at all… Foreign girls have hot bodies and are enthusiastic, but I am not interested… I do have a few Chinese classmates… but they all have high standards, and are very snobbish as well… I have been living frugally, so they think that I’m some kind of poor international student and don’t like to speak to me… Haha.”

“Okay, I believe you… It makes sense though. Plus you are still young, so you don’t need to worry about relationships.”

“Sis…”

“Yes?”

“Still no news from my brother-in-law?” Zhixin asked carefully.
