My Youth Began With Him

”Don’t, it’s not convenient for you to leave the house right now, you’re too far along. How about this? It’ll be hard for you to come for his one-month birthday since a lot of people will be there. Once that’s over, we’ll come and see you at the Su Estate.”

”I can’t ask you to do that,” Huo Mian said, feeling guilty.

”We’re friends, don’t mention it. All we want to do is protect you and your babies. It’s settled then.”

”Okay then… get some rest now, okay?”

After hanging up, Huo Mian spent the entire night tossing and turning on her bed.

- The next morning -

Huo Mian saw Su Yu in the living room when she walked downstairs for breakfast. ”Why are you here so early?”

”Mhm, I heard it’s best to eat fruit that’s picked in the morning, so I got you some freshly-picked grapes from the garden. Wei Liao said Xiaowei ate grapes during her pregnancy, that’s why her boy’s eyes are so pretty. Here, have some.”

”Haha, okay.” Huo Mian felt like Su Yu was a really interesting person who often came up with weird ideas…

That morning, only Mrs. Su, Huo Mian, and Su Yu were at home.

”Mrs. Su, Xiaowei gave birth last night,” Huo Mian said.

”Wei Liao’s wife, right?” Mrs. Su smiled gently, and Huo Mian nodded.

”Wei Liao’s wife is one of Huo Mian’s best friends, and their encounter was a complete coincidence. But, they turned out to be a perfect match,” Su Yu interjected.

”That’s really good! Did she have a boy or a girl?”

”Boy, 3.3 kilograms…” Huo Mian and Su Yu said at the same time.

Then, they both froze for a slight second before smiling at each other.

”This is great news for the Wei family, we’ll all be celebrating his one-month birthday soon then.”

”I’m the kid’s godfather, not only do I have to go, but I also have to give the little boy a giant present… or else Wei Liao’s going to chew my ear off.”

”What are you going to give him?” Huo Mian asked as she sipped at her porridge.

”Back then I told him that if they had a girl, I would buy her a diamond. But if they have a boy, I’m going to give him a Lamborghini…”

”Haha, time to bleed then. The good thing is a Lamborghini isn’t a lot to you.” Huo Mian chuckled.

Just then, Su Yu bit down on his lips; he hesitated before slowly saying, ”Once your twins come out, I’m going to give them a cruise ship if they’re girls. This way, they’ll be able to ride the waves and brave all hardships in life.”

”You can’t do that, it’s too expensive…” Huo Mian immediately refused, but Mrs. Su chimed in, ”It’s not, he has a lot of money. A cruise ship is a great gift.”

”Ha, Mom, am I your son or not?”

”What does being my son have to do with anything? You’re too rich,” Mrs. Su said as she rolled her eyes at Su Yu, leaving the latter at a loss for words.

Huo Mian covered her mouth, trying hard to hold back her laughter.

Then, Su Yu added, ”If you have twin boys, I’m going to give them a private jet. Once they learn how to walk, they’ll be able to soar the skies like mighty eagles and conquer the world.”

”They both sound like lucky presents, it’s decided then,” Mrs. Su said before Huo Mian could even refuse.

Time flew by…

Huo Mian was seven months pregnant when Xiaowei’s baby turned one-month old. The birthday party was three days away, but since Huo Mian couldn’t attend, Wei Liao and Jiang Xiaowei decided to drive to the Su Estate to see her.

Mrs. Su bought a lot of food to welcome them, and Tang Chuan tagged along as well…

Grandpa Su and Mr. Su weren’t home, so Su Yu acted as the host.

Huo Mian, seven months into her pregnancy, walked slowly and carefully. Su Yu watched as he fought the urge to rush up and help her… Everyone could tell how nervous he was about Huo Mian.

Huo Mian sat down on the couch and held the baby in her arms. ”Hey, little baby, do you know who I am? I’m your Auntie, Auntie Mian.”
