My Youth Began With Him

“Boss, a small bowl of ramen,” Huo Mian said as she walked in.

“Sure thing.”

Huo Mian saw Su Yu just as she walked in, and she nodded to say hi.

Then she sat on a table off to the side.

She originally planned to eat with Qin Chu, but he received a work call and hurried to the construction site to take care of things.

So, she drove over herself and planned to go to work after she finished eating.

However, she never expected that she would see Su Yu here this early, with a girl beside him.

Su Yu’s expression changed dramatically as soon as Huo Mian came in…

“Hey… it can’t be this dramatic, is it her?” asked Xu Jiamin.

Just then, the boss brought over their two bowls of ramen.

Su Yu pushed one bowl in front of her and said impolitely, “Don’t say anything, just eat your ramen.”

Xu Jiamin pouted, but no longer said anything else.

The two of them quietly ate ramen; Huo Mian, on the other hand, had been pretty depressed lately.

Zhixin was about to fly to Jing City at 3 AM tomorrow morning, where he would then transfer flights and head to New Zealand.

He would be tens of thousands of miles away, and she didn’t know when he would be back.

Huo Mian was somewhat absent-minded as she ate, looking fairly desolate…

Even though Su Yu tried to focus his attention on his ramen, he couldn’t help but to raise his head and look at her.

When Huo Mian finished her bowl of ramen and was about to leave…

Su Yu couldn’t help but walk up to her. “Are you okay?”

“I’m fine.”

“You look terrible.”

“Oh, maybe I’ve been too busy with work lately,” Huo Mian calmly said.

“Then take care of yourself.”

“I will.” Huo Mian nodded.

“Huo Mian…” he spoke again.

“Yes?”

“My birthday is next Friday, so I will be hosting a cocktail party at my private mansion at 6 PM. Can you come?” Su Yu hesitated for quite a while, but he still wanted to invite Huo Mian. He would be incredibly happy if he could see her on the day of his birthday.

“I’ll have to see.” Huo Mian didn’t immediately refuse, but she didn’t agree either.

Su Yu watched as the Audi R8 drove away…

Then, he finally recovered. He sat back down and went back to eating his ramen.

“Is she the girl you like?”

“What does it have to do with you…?” Su Yu asked impolitely in return.

“I’m just curious.”

“Shut up and eat your ramen.” Su Yu was grumpy.

Xu Jiamin no longer said anything else…

It was nearly noon when the two of them returned to the Su mansion…

Su Yu showed her around town before they finally went back.

Grandpa Su seemed very enthusiastic. “Jiamin, how was Yu?”

“He… is an egomaniac… and super short-tempered, he kept scolding me,” Xu Jiamin honestly commented.

The two elders laughed out loud at the girl’s honesty.

“It’s a good thing, at least he’s not fake. I don’t like men who live with masks over their faces,” the girl added.

“If that’s the case, would you like to be my granddaughter-in-law?” Grandpa Su was very straightforward.

“Grandpa…” Su Yu seemed very upset with his grandpa’s jokes.

“No thanks… Grandpa Su, I can’t.”

“What? You don’t like Yu?” asked Grandpa Su.

“No, he is too old for me. I don’t want to find someone so old. I like younger boys… like Ni Yang.”

“Ni Yang?” Her response left these two old men dumbfounded.

“When did you get a boyfriend, why didn’t you tell me?” asked Grandpa Xu in all seriousness.

Su Yu helplessly helped her explain. “Ni Yang is a celebrity.”

The two old men finally realized what she just said…

Grandpa Su was trying to get Su Yu to date Xu Jiamin.

Even though Su Yu was almost 8 years older than she was, their family backgrounds were quite similar.

The two elders were in agreement about the arranged marriage, but unfortunately, their grandchildren didn’t think the same way.

Even though Xu Jiamin began developing feelings for Su Yu, as soon as she saw how gentle he was with that woman when they were eating ramen, she immediately decided to give up…

She knew that it would be tiring, being in love with a man whose heart was already occupied by someone else.

– At GK Headquarters –

It was already 10 AM when Qin Chu arrived at this office.

At lunch, just as he was about to head out to eat after a meeting, he saw Song Yishi.

“You’re here to see me?” Qin Chu asked her.

“Yes, do you mind having lunch with me?” Song Yishi invited with a smile.

She was skilled in conversation, and if Qin Chu said that he minded, he would seem too petty.

If he didn’t mind, then he would have to have lunch with her.
