Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 266: Chapter 266: No One Can Leave Tonight

A winding, dim corridor ran along the right side of Brocade Mansion’s top floor. At its end was a stairwell leading to the floors below.

The corridor was strewn with garbage, and a strange smell hung in the air.

Light from the banquet hall filtered through cluttered wooden racks, illuminating a corner of the corridor.

The thugs hired by the Rose Chauffeur Company had arrived. Their leader was Hu Zi, one of Wang Xiaodong’s lackeys. He was a thick-necked, burly man, and he carried a baseball bat.

Cigarettes were lit one after another as they all looked to Hu Zi.

Hu Zi’s eyes narrowed. ”Brother Dong said to give her a serious beating later. Don’t stop until that damn woman is begging for mercy. And don’t be scared if someone ends up dead. Brother Dong has our backs; he guarantees we’ll be fine!”

The men brandished their wooden clubs, responding with sinister grunts of agreement.

Bored, Young Master Liang and his cronies wandered over as well.

”Turn on those floodlights over there,” Young Master Liang said, a thrill running through him. ”I want a better view. Looks like this Wang Xiaodong brought quite a few guys. We’re in for a good show!”

Young Master Chen lit a thin black cigarillo and exhaled a cloud of smoke with an imposing air. ”What’s there to see? It’s just some crazy woman.”

But Young Master Yang’s gaze was venomous. ”Forget the woman. It’s the guy with her that pisses me off! What kind of garbage dares to challenge us, the Three Young Masters of Jin City?”

Young Master Liang flicked a speck of dust from his suit, his bulbous eyes fixed on Qin Tianxuan as he approached.

He then arrogantly raised a hand and made a throat-slitting gesture at Qin Tianxuan.

Qin Tianxuan carried the now-recovering Han Xiaomei, walking slowly with Han Yuyu.

”Brother Qin, I... I’m so scared,” Han Yuyu said, her voice trembling.

’If it weren’t for her sister’s ID and the security deposit, she would have grabbed Xiaomei and run away long ago.’

’This place is terrifying. Everyone here is someone I can’t afford to offend.’

Qin Tianxuan smiled reassuringly. ”Stay behind me. No one will harm either of you tonight!”

Han Yuyu had already spotted the figures in the corridor, and her eyes widened in fear. ”Brother Qin, there... there are so many of them! And I think... I think they’re carrying clubs...”

Han Yuyu subconsciously gripped the back of Qin Tianxuan’s shirt.

Qin Tianxuan glanced over coolly and handed Han Xiaomei to her. ”Stay here and wait!”

With that, he stepped directly into the corridor.

Behind them, Young Master Liang’s men wheeled over two large floodlights, bathing the corridor in brilliant light.

Qin Tianxuan’s figure cast a long shadow, instantly drawing the attention of certain people at the Brocade Mansion banquet.

In particular, a row of men in black standing on the west side of the hall took notice.

They were all dressed in identical black suits, with sunglasses hanging from their collars and gazes as sharp as a hawk’s.

Zhang Jinrong shot up from his seat in the back. ”That man... could he be...”

The look in his eyes changed completely. He quickly pulled out his phone and found a photograph.

It was a photo the Marquis had once sent him.

A photo of Mr. Qin!

He looked closer. Yes, it was him. The man who had just entered the corridor was indeed Qin Tianxuan.

”Who is that group of trash in the corridor?” Zhang Jinrong instantly saw there was a problem.

A subordinate bowed. ”They look like thugs who work for Boss Zhu of the Rose Chauffeur Company.”

”That fat pig?” Zhang Jinrong exploded. ”Why are his men carrying weapons? Are they planning to make a move on Mr. Qin? On my turf, in my Jin City, Mr. Qin will not face a single threat!”

Zhang Jinrong gestured sharply. ”Come with me! You—call that pig from the Rose Company this instant. Tell him he has fifteen minutes to get here. If he’s one second late, I’ll cut off a finger!”

The men in black surged menacingly toward the corridor.

In the brightly lit corridor, Wang Xiaodong was waiting, bored. The moment Qin Tianxuan entered, he smirked. ”Well, well. Got some nerve, showing up alone to cause trouble.”

Behind him, Hu Zi stubbed out his cigarette. ”Boys, let’s teach him a lesson!”

Qin Tianxuan remained silent. He slowly lifted his foot, ready to strike.

”There’s no need for you to lift a finger, Sir! We’ll handle this!”

A voice like a thunderclap boomed from behind him. Zhang Jinrong had appeared, and his men in black now blocked the entire corridor.

Zhang Jinrong himself grabbed a nearby mop handle and snapped it in two with a kick. ”Fuck, I haven’t gotten my hands dirty in years. Today’s your unlucky day!”

The cigarette dropped from Wang Xiaodong’s mouth.

His brain instantly short-circuited.

But his subordinate, Hu Zi, cried out, trembling, ”It’s... it’s Lord Rong! Lord Rong is here!”

THUMP. Hu Zi dropped to his knees on the spot.

Wang Xiaodong blinked, still in disbelief. Why would Zhang Jinrong, the man who ran Jin City, suddenly show up here with his men?

The sounds of a savage beating echoed through the corridor.

In a matter of moments, Hu Zi and his whole crew of thugs were on the ground.

Qin Tianxuan frowned, stepped back out of the corridor, and reassured the terrified Han Yuyu, ”It’s alright. They’re friends of mine.”

’Friends of his?’

’Just who is this Brother Qin?’

’Those men in black looked even more terrifying. Every one of them was as menacing as a demon.’

By now, the corridor had fallen completely silent.

Zhang Jinrong emerged from the corridor, quickening his pace until he was directly in front of Qin Tianxuan.

He bowed a full ninety degrees. ”Mr. Qin, Zhang Jinrong of Jin City pays his respects!”

Qin Tianxuan gave a slight nod. ”That wasn’t necessary, but I’ll consider this a favor I owe you.”

Zhang Jinrong was so excited he nearly fainted.

’A single promise from a man like him is worth a fortune!’

”Sir, what are your instructions for dealing with this trash?”

Qin Tianxuan ignored the idiots in the corridor. Instead, he turned and looked across the way.

He raised his hand and pointed at Young Master Liang and his friends. ”Tonight, not a single one of these bastards is leaving!”
