Celestial Night Emperor

Chapter 253: Chapter 253: Weiwei’s Outburst

The mention of an infectious disease alarmed everyone.

The patrons at the other tables all turned to stare, their faces twisted in disgust. ”So she really is from the hospital. She didn’t even change out of her patient gown. She must have brought some disease with her. How is anyone supposed to eat?”

Ah Xue’s face instantly turned pale; she had never experienced a scene like this before.

At a complete loss, she apologized to Han Biwei and Qin Tianxuan. ’Looks like I’m going to be a burden to Brother Tianxuan again.’

”I’m so sorry, I’ve embarrassed you...” Tears welled up in Ah Xue’s eyes.

She wasn’t afraid of hardship and was full of hope for life, but like any young woman, she had her pride.

Ah Xue was, in fact, a very proud and resilient girl.

She had already stood up, bowing sincerely to the guests at the other tables in apology.

Then, she bit her lip. ”Brother Tianxuan, Sister-in-law, Niannian, I’ll just wait outside. You can just bring me a bun when you’re finished.”

The people at the surrounding tables shouted callously, ”Hurry up and get out! How are we supposed to eat if you don’t leave? What’s wrong with you? Is it contagious?”

Qin Tianxuan’s expression had turned terrifyingly grim, but the first to erupt wasn’t him. It was Han Biwei.

Weiwei shot to her feet and pulled Ah Xue back down.

”Ah Xue, you stay seated!”

An astonishing presence emanated from Han Biwei.

Xia Xueqing was stunned into silence and sat back down uneasily.

Han Biwei wiped her hands and strode directly over to the next table.

”Let me make one thing clear to all of you. My sister does not have an infectious disease. She was just discharged from the hospital and didn’t have time to change her clothes. Is there a problem with that?”

The woman at the other table also stood up, pouting. ”Who’s going to believe you? I’m convinced she has an infectious disease. If you’re sick, stay home!”

The chubby man beside the woman, a gold chain hanging on his chest, also stood up.

The fat man spoke around a dangling cigarette, ”Cut the crap. The whole lot of you, get out!”

SPLASH! Han Biwei grabbed a cup of water from the table and threw it right in the faces of those two.

The fat man and the woman, drenched in water, stomped their feet and roared in fury.

Han Biwei was truly incensed.

She knew what Ah Xue had been through and her heart ached for the younger girl’s suffering. To think she was being bullied now for just trying to eat a meal!

Weiwei had been pushed to her limit, which was why she’d lashed out.

But once she’d thrown the water, she grew uneasy. ’Oh, crap. Am I just making trouble for Qin Tianxuan?’

Qin Tianxuan was already at her side, protectively shielding her.

Han Biwei apologized in a low voice, ”I was too impulsive. This won’t cause you any trouble, will it?”

Qin Tianxuan chuckled softly. ”You did the right thing. You were pretty badass today.”

Han Biwei was at a loss for words. ”But how is this going to end?”

Sure enough, the pair immediately summoned the manager of Louwailou Restaurant.

A clamor erupted from the surrounding tables.

They were all selfish, self-absorbed people.

Eating at Louwailou Restaurant seemed to give them a sense of status, and now they were pointing at Ah Xue and Qin Tianxuan’s party with expressions of pure disgust.

After hearing the complaint, the manager of Louwailou Restaurant frowned at Qin Tianxuan’s group. ”To the guests at this table, you’d better leave. We won’t be serving your food. Your reservation fee will be fully refunded.”

At this, the manager’s eyes half-closed in a condescending look. ”If you have nowhere to eat, I can have the kitchen scrounge up some leftovers for you. Would you like them to go?”

’Leftovers? To go?’

The corner of Qin Tianxuan’s eye twitched. He was on the verge of slapping the idiot right across the face.

Han Biwei sensed his intention and tugged hard on his arm. ”Niannian is right here! Don’t do anything violent in front of her! Let’s just go. There’s a restaurant across the street; it’s not like this is the only one in the area!”

Qin Tianxuan looked at Niannian. His daughter hadn’t eaten yet, and she must be starving.

And then there was Ah Xue. She was just out of the hospital and hadn’t even had a sip of warm water.

’Tearing this Louwailou Restaurant to the ground would be easy, but it’s a complete waste of time.’

”Alright, Weiwei. I’ll listen to you today.”

And just like that, the family left.

Across the street was Fujulou Restaurant. Its business was far worse than Louwailou’s. As they were direct competitors, Louwailou had stolen away most of Fujulou’s customers, so the place was only about half full.

This time, Han Biwei immediately called for the manager. ”My sister was just discharged from the hospital and is still wearing her patient gown. I hope that won’t be an issue?”

This manager was refreshingly straightforward. ”No problem at all! That’s a small thing. Since she’s just out of the hospital, we’ll be mindful of that when preparing your dishes.”

Han Biwei then asked the patrons at the surrounding tables, ”I hope this doesn’t bother any of you, my friends?”

The people eating here just smiled. ”It’s no problem at all. Please, sit down. We have someone over here who just got out of the hospital, too.”

The family sat down again and ordered their food.

This time, they finally got to eat a hot meal, and the people at a nearby table even sent over a fruit platter.

”You need to replenish your vitamins after getting out of the hospital. The owner sent this fruit platter over on the house, but we can’t finish it. You don’t mind, do you?”

Han Biwei was delighted. ”Not at all, thank you! We don’t eat much ourselves.”

The atmosphere grew increasingly harmonious. Fujulou Restaurant had a much more human touch than Louwailou Restaurant.

That was because the diners here were all working-class people, while the clientele across the street at Louwailou were either rich or noble.

People truly are different from one another.

The wealthy and powerful, like that fat man and the woman, were susceptible to the diseases of the rich!

Meanwhile, simple and honest people were not only kind but also deeply empathetic.

Ah Xue could finally relax and eat a meal.

Meanwhile, at Louwailou Restaurant, the fat man and the woman were still raising a fuss. ”You call Louwailou the best restaurant in Jin City, yet you let a contagious person in! So, what are you going to do about it?”

The manager silently cursed Ah Xue and Qin Tianxuan’s family. ’That trashy family,’ he thought, ’they’ve dragged the whole restaurant into their mess.’

He apologized humbly and profusely, while the guests at the surrounding tables chimed in, stirring the pot.

In the end, Louwailou Restaurant had to announce that every table would receive a complimentary order of crab to placate the crowd.

The manager of Louwailou Restaurant was wiping away his sweat, just about to leave, when the sound of synchronized footsteps came from outside.

He looked up and froze, utterly stunned.

The chief officers of the four main local districts, each with their own secretary, had somehow all appeared at once.

”Excuse me, at which table is Mr. Qin dining?”
