The Martial Unity

Seeing the five of them, each extremely powerful, rush towards him, he knew that he had no choice. If he dared to hold back, he would die in the blink of an eye. He activated each and every single one of his Realms.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The very fabric of reality shuddered under the unfathomable weight of all the power that Rui had accumulated in the past century. He was a hundred and twenty years old at the moment. And words couldn’t describe just how much power he had cultivated in that time.

Now, he mobilized all of it.

His Heart, which had already begun assimilating into the standard power of his Body, flared with the brightness of a nuclear explosion. It was blinding, becoming the second brightest source of light in the entire solar system. His Mind and Soul had become some of his strongest Realms after he upgraded his neurology to biophotonic. His gene Realm remained on standby, ready to alter DNA at any moment. His corporeal consciousness understood just how important this battle was, mobilizing an iota of integrated information towards the battle and nothing else.

His Martialverse brimmed with power, but didn’t expand upon reality. Instead, it remained compacted within his body. It remained focused, like a scalpel, rather than a dissipated, diluted domain.

From the higher dimensions, he pulled out the Armor of Flowing Wisdom, donning the halo of fractal geometries.

Just in time to defend himself from the five Webverses that converged upon him from a distance.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The very essence of reality seemed to grow taut under the tug of five different webverses, each seeking to bully his very existence into submission.

”Rgh!” Rui gritted his teeth as he leveraged his entire Martialverse for defense, allowing the Armor of Flowing Wisdom to flow even faster, creating a stronger defense for his information form.

But that also meant that he couldn’t leverage the Martialverse for physical attacks.

”You. Are. A. Fool. If. You. Think. You. Can. Fight. All. Five. Of. Us. At. Once.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

A devastating attack from Divine Mother oooo——’s webstinger struck him with a truly unfathomable amount of force.

CRACK CRACK CRACK!

Several bones in his body simply shattered under the force of the attack, although they healed as fast as they broke. He allowed the attack to launch him away, hoping it would bring him a moment of relief.

But two Divine Mothers had already circled to his sides. Divine Mother o—o-oo-o, the Webslinger, a young child of a Divine Mother, launched herself forth at him with a slinging web from his left side. Divine Mother ——, the Shredder, unleashed a net of strings so thin that they effortlessly cut through everything they touched.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

SPLAT SPLAT SPLAT

Their attacks landed. Yet, the outcome wasn’t what the Divine Mothers had expected or hoped for.

”My... He. Is. Still. Conscious,” the Shredder remarked with a graceful tone of mild surprise.

”He’s. Like. A. -o—o-,” The Webslinger remarked with a childish fascination.

Flung a few kilometers away by the impacts, Rui’s body was already bloody all over. The heavy impact of the Webslinger had caused him some hemorrhaging, while the extremely sharp strings of the net woven by the Shredder had pierced his outer flesh, causing grid-like wound patterns across his entire body.

He activated Weaving Blood to heal almost instantaneously, but Divine Mother oooo—— teleported behind him faster than he could react, swinging her webstinger at him one more time.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

This time, he was more prepared. He activated the Gene Realm, using it to manipulate his genotype to make his cells more absorptive of kinetic impacts. This came at the cost of physical power, but he was entirely on the defensive at the moment, so he didn’t care for the sacrifice.

It allowed him to absorb the power of the impact, retaliating with an even attack.

And it was exactly at that moment that the other Divine Mothers chose to attack. Specifically, o-ooo—o, the Mindstitch, who had been waiting for the right moment, chose to attack his mind with her full power.

She managed to breach the Armor of Flowing Wisdom thanks to that one moment of distraction, allowing her Verse to wash over the web of integrated information of his mind. Rui’s alarm caused him to redirect his focus towards protecting his own mind with his Martialverse.

But that created the opening that the other Divine Mothers needed.

BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!

He was bombarded with attacks from four Divine Mothers. The Shredded rapidly shredded his body with her extremely sharp web strings, causing flesh to fall off his muscles and bones at an alarming rate.

If not for his Corporeal consciousness coordinating with his Gene Realm, the flesh would not have been recaptured and rapidly restored to his body. Thankfully, his body had a literal mind of its own that could piece itself back together even without Rui’s active intervention. He adjusted his Gene Realm to maximize genetic division and restoration.

The attacks from Divine Mother oooo——, who led the assault operation, were the toughest. Her body was unnaturally strong, and her attacks vastly surpassed what should have been possible. Even when she was using her Webverse to tax his Martialverse, she was still on a whole other level.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

She blasted him with attacks that made him feel like he was in the face of an exploding supernova. It was a realm of physical power that should have been impossible, even with Transcendent-grade esoteric lacing her body.

That was why Rui could tell.

She had a law-altered body. One whose laws were considerably more divergent from reality than his own, meaning she had gone through unimaginably long periods of Legislation and disappearing from reality to pay the price.

Of course, he had no time to marvel at how divergent her laws were or exactly what she had chosen to alter, considering that he was being literally beaten to death at this rate.

”You. Have. Fought. Valiantly. But. This. Battle. Ends. Now.”

The voice of the fifth Divine Mother reached him.

She was the Netweaver, and she specialized in capturing, trapping, and incapacitating powerful targets with her webs that bound not only their bodies, but even their minds, and even their Verses.

She was an expert at Administrator suppression.

WHOOSH

She spread her arms, causing the ball of web between them to expand into an intricate, almost kaleidoscopic web net that she had woven just for him.

The sight of it made Rui’s Primordial Instinct feel a surge of danger.

He could instinctively tell that if he got trapped in that, it was game over.
