The Martial Unity

The leader of the War Faction had made him an offer of peace. It was a rather unexpected move, but he could understand the rationale behind her decision. From her point of view, this operation was risky. If Rui successfully escaped, then it would be considered a failure. They would disappear without having achieved anything.

That was why they chose to ambush him in Gaia Prime, where he wouldn’t be able to run away. At the same time, they made him an offer of peace in exchange for the method to achieve Transcendent impunity. This would eliminate the risk. Ending the war would be a sign of defeat, but it was worth it.

Nothing was more important than gaining Administrative impunity. Once they got their hands on that, they would gain so much power that the loss to their reputation and prestige was worthless. Destroying human civilization didn’t give them as much as if they gained impunity.

In the eyes of the Divine Mothers, this entire saga with the humans, starting with the death of Divine Mother o-o-o-o, was a loss. It was a loss-making affair. The only way all these tribulations would be worth it was if they got their hands on Transcendent impunity in the first place.

They simply waited in silence as the other side fell into thought. Rui’s eyes wandered about as he pondered their offer seriously. He enjoyed fighting the Divine Mothers, but this time, there was too much at stake, and he couldn’t afford collateral damage. Gaia needed to be protected at all costs. He couldn’t allow anything to bring harm to it. A battle with six Divine Mothers, particularly strong ones too, would inevitably bring about mass destruction.

Yet, at the same time, there was absolutely nothing holding the Divine Mothers back if he taught them the method to Transcendent impunity. He didn’t believe that these creatures were particularly honorable. He knew from o-o-o-o’s memories that they most certainly weren’t honorable. They routinely lied and deceived in order to achieve their goal. He had no idea what they were thinking at this moment, but he knew that they weren’t thinking about how important it would be to maintain their word.

In that case, there was a high chance that they would attack him anyway once he gave them the method.

It wouldn’t be just out of vengeance or vindication, but practicality. The value of Transcendent impunity was at its highest when only they knew it. They could increase their power within Arakai Web Civilization, and also within the Orion Star Strand the most if they were the only ones who knew the secret.

That was why it was in their interests to kill him the moment he told them the secret to ensure that they would be the only ones who knew about it.

Rui made his decision.

He didn’t respond with words. Instead, he responded with his actions.

SPLAT

Before any of them could react, his hand flashed towards one of the six Divine Mothers, piercing her gut. It happened so fast that it was as if the flow of time had been spliced, causing the motion of the action to resemble that of teleportation. His arm had also become extremely transparent, as if it was fading, while it traveled towards her body.

Divine Mother oooo hadn’t even realized what had happened until she looked down, looking at Rui’s hand buried in her abdomen at wrist-level depth, before looking back at him. His ethereal eyes blazed with a ferocious intensity that they hadn’t seen in his prior battle. A single remark escaped him even as he pumped her body with the Tide of Samsara.

”Die, spider bitch.”

Her body shuddered as a wave of black and white spread across her body. The black was, of course, the Anicca Current, the upgraded and improved version of the Gu that Rui had created more than a decade ago. The white, in turn, was the Antithesis Hive, a white blood hive network composed of white blood cells born of Anthean physiology and armored with esoteric matter.

He even applied his Martialverse to the poison, allowing it to flow with greater vigor than ever before. Her body shuddered as her pincers clashed against each other in the arakai equivalent of a scream of agony.

He didn’t dare hold back even a single drop, having pumped her entire body with every ounce of the Tide within his body.

Ordinarily, a Divine Mother of her caliber with a stronger Verse would have been able to crush the poison within her own body, but when she tried, the poison simply evaded her awareness and her Verse.

It jumped into higher dimensions to avoid sanction!

After all, when Rui altered the laws in his body, he altered them for his whole body.

Including the Tide of Samsara.

This made the poison that was already very dangerous a complete menace of a whole other level that was almost impossible to stop.

He was hoping it would kill her on the spot, but this Divine Mother was not weak. Even with the impediment of hyperdimensional escape and attack routes, she still managed to defend her body, even if it left her too preoccupied to do anything else.

Before Rui could take even another step, however, his Autocorpus reacted to an incoming threat.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!

Rui barely managed to defend himself against one of the heaviest attacks he had ever been struck with. It was none other than the leader of the War Faction who had reacted the quickest, blasting him with her webstinger, using it like a whip.

CRACK

Rui felt the sharp, tingling pain of a bone cracking in his forearm from the force of the impact. It was much heavier than he had anticipated. Even with his enhanced constitution, he reeled from the power that the Divine Mother had displayed. He felt like he had been struck with something that was entirely made up of prothanite.

At the very least, the toughness of the chitin exoskeleton covering her tail was not ordinary, easily surpassing even invintium. He gazed at her warily, managing to stop the momentum of his launched body a hundred kilometers away from the initial position he was at.

Yet, even at that distance, both sides could easily perceive each other. He could see the fury in the six eyes of Divine Mother oooo——.

”Your. Dare. Reject. Our. Goodwill?”

Her voice was laced with malevolence. Her six arachnid eyes were monstrous. One moment, she was calm and composed, and the very next, her anger and hatred turned her into a demon that sent chills across his skin.

Her words were filled to the very brim with malice. So much so that it was hard to imagine that she had managed to keep this bottle up so well that even he couldn’t sense a trace of it when she made him his offer.

Regardless, Rui prepared himself as five Divine Mothers rushed towards him with a vengeful bloodlust.
