”…and. The. Human. Sieges. Are. Composed. Of. Mediocre. Means. Of. Attack, Your. Excellency,” a male arakai droned on about the real-time war intelligence reports compiled by the intelligence web of the invading force. ”They. Have. Been. Unable. To. Inflict. Any. Damage. To. Our. Ablative. Breachers.”

The male arakai remained bowed before the hammock of the resting Divine Mother.

—o-o—o couldn’t hide the contempt she felt for the weakling humans. She sneered at their attempts at breaking the powerful battering shield array that commenced the invasion into human civilization.

”Their. Paltry. Weapons. Can’t. Even. Scratch. Our. Prothanite!” She click-laughed to herself, her pincers slamming against each other in amusement.

Prothanite was a form of matter that was composed entire protons. It was an artificial form of matter that couldn’t exist in nature for obvious reasons, but had become possible because of the profound mastery over all webs that the Arakai Web Civilization had. It was one of the most indestructible forms of matter to have ever been created in the Orion Star Strand, so she was hardly surprised that a lesser civilization couldn’t so much as even scratch it.

Prothanite was made with Gluonic Web Technology, a profound high-technology proprietary to the arakai. It was based on the principle that the Strong Nuclear Force, carried by the gluon, was a form of web that could be strengthened or weakened. All of the four fundamental forces of the universe, as far as the arakai were concerned, were webs.

Prothanite worked by manipulating the constants of the universe through hyperdimensional engineering.

Reality was not as straightforward as it might have seemed. There were dimensions of reality that were curled at such profound depths that it was beyond imperceptible even to ordinary advanced sensory technologies. By shrinking higher dimensions through negatron matter, they could force more of the strong nuclear force to manifest in three-dimensional reality, thereby strengthening it.

—o-o—o was confident that no force in human civilization, save for the Emperor of Water, could possibly breach this form of matter.

[Your. Excellency. The. Interdiction. Force. Has. Finally. Entered. Human. Space.]

Her six, black, arachnid eyes lit up at the notification transmitted to her through the neural web she had established between herself and the crew.

She had been waiting for this notification.

Now, it was time to show the humans just how utterly powerless they were in the face of arakai dominance.

”Commence. The. Next. Phase. Of. The. Invasion,” —o-o—o commanded with an imperious tone.

”Received… Commencing. Area. Control. Operations.”

”Activating. Wormhole. Interdiction. Fields.

”Initiating. Gravity. Anchors.”

”Deploying Spatial. Destabilizers.”

The first layer at the forefront of the Web of War was the breachhead that was essentially a shield to protect the invading army as its vast numbers crossed the Gate of Conquest. The second layer immediately behind the breachhead was composed of the interdiction force, which had but one purpose.

To control the field and deny the area to their opponents.

RUMBLE!!!

Space and time shook as interdiction fields, gravity wells, and spatial destabilizers seized much of what was going to be the first battlefield and the eventual

The interdiction fields prevented wormholes from opening up within Arima III, excluding the Gate of Conquest. It prevented nominal superluminal travel and even disabled superluminal surveillance, preventing the human forces from being able to study the invading force in real time.

”Wormhole. Interdiction. Fields. Are. Active.”

”Gravity. Anchors. Are. Stable.”

”Destabilizers. Off-Frequency… Calibrating. To. Local. Space-time. Structure.”

RUMBLE!!!

The sheer amount of dominance that the arakai showed by seizing the entire star system for themselves was not to be dismissed easily. To simply waltz into human space and then completely cut it off from the rest of human civilization was a feat that displayed the gap between the arakai and humans in general astronaval might.

”With. This. We. Have. Seized. Full. Control. Over. This. Star System,” —o-o—o declared with an intense series of clicks. ”Now. Time. To. Wipe. Out. The. Human. Forces. And. Convert. This. Entire. Star. System. Into. Our. New. Bridgehead—!”

—o-o—o’s six arachnid eyes widened as she sensed a teleportation event occur despite the interference that the interdiction force was running. Even before her intelligence forces could supply a report to the stunning anomaly defying their control, her Transcendent senses reached out as she beheld the figures that had arrived.

An old woman with intense, aged eyes glaring directly at the center-most ablative breacher. A series of golden humans, a series of elves, and a silvery cybernetic human all positioned across the shield of ablative breachers.

They had been waiting for the moment that the next phase of the invasion commenced. If they acted too soon, then they would only destroy the breachhead, which was just interlocked dumb shields. But if they acted too late, then the annihilation process would commence.

They had nailed the timing.

RUMBLE!!!!!

The world shook violently as a quantum phenomenon that eluded —o-o—o began overlapping the breachhead. Her eyes widened as she sensed the hyperdimensionally amplified gluonic webs holding together the protons within prothanite began unraveling. Somehow the humans were breaking the webs!

”No… They’re. Not. Breaking. The. Webs!” she realized with horror. ”They’re. Breaking. The. Protons. Themselves!”

A single whisper escaped Bodhisattva Maitreyi’s mouth.

”Omnilumina.”

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!

The sheer intensity of the explosion could not be put into words. A deafening explosion erupted from the very surface of the ablative breachers even though outer space lacked an atmosphere. The explosion was so intense that sound traveled through space and time as gravity.

A massive sphere of light emerged from the ablative breachers as protons rapidly crumbled into pure photons. The Photonic Phase Induction Catalyzer had already been in effect when Bodhisattva Maitreyi activated her vaunted matter-energy conversion technique, amplifying it by an order of magnitude!

The others had already been ready ahead of time. None of them could react to light itself, so the preparations had to be made moments before the Boundless Light activated her technique.

”FOR HUMANITY!” They roared in unison as the solarians, the elves, and Argenton worked together to redirect most of the explosion towards the Interdiction Force that held Arima III captive.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!
