”The. Humans. Have. Gained. Another. Transcendent.” Divine Mother ——oooo of the War Faction clicked her pincers together in irritation. ”According. To. Our. Spies. And. Monitoring. Of. Their. Interweb. They. Have. Gained. A. New. Kind. Of. Administrator. From. Another. Race.”

Seated opposite her on a web hammock, the leader of the Virus Faction frowned. ”That. Does. Not. Bode. Well. Does. This. One. Also. Possess. The. Ability. To. Remain. After. Using. One’s. Verse?”

That was the primary concern of the Divine Mothers at the moment. Although they still wanted to punish human civilization for its leader killing three Divine Mothers, they were much more motivated by their greed for power. If they could get their hands on the ability to remain even after using their verse, then it was worth it to sacrifice three Divine Mothers. Their civilization would grow much stronger as a result of the Administrators being able to intervene in the information dimension without cost.

”We. Do. Not. Know,” Divine Mother ——oooo admitted with a frustrated expression. ”We. Haven’t. Been. Able. To. Locate. Him. Beyond. The. Sirinwel. Continent. Of. Their. Central. World. Gaia Prime.”

That opened up the possibility of the Divine Mothers potentially nabbing the dwarven Administrator. They were wary of the Emperor of Harmony because he was already responsible for the death of three of their sisters, but this new Administrator was undoubtedly inexperienced with his newfound power.

”On. Top. Of. That. This. New. Administrator. Is. Of. A. Race. That. Does. Not. Possess. Great. Combat. Prowess,” Divine Mother —oo realized. ”We. May. Be. Able. To. Nab. Him. With. Greater. Ease. Than. The. Emperor. Of. Water.”

Of course, neither of them had failed to miss the fact that the Emperor of Water was on the same planet. That meant that trying to attack the dwarf would undoubtedly lead to a battle with the Emperor of Water.

At the end of the day, they would need to deal with him one way or another. They had resolved to be more patient this time, since their impatience in the recent past had already led to some very painfully poor decisions.

As frustrating as it was to simply sit and watch, it would be better if they could gather more information on his capabilities as the war progressed. They couldn’t afford to lose more Divine Mothers than they already have.

”The. Humans. Have. Likely. Become. Aware. Of. The. Impending. Invasion. In. Some. Capacity. Or. The. Other,” Divine Mother ——oooo remarked with a serious tone. ”They. Have. Imposed. Restrictions. On. Their. Outermost. Ring. Of. Territory… Which. Suggests. That. They. Don’t. Know. Where. An. Attack. Is. Going to. Be. Only. That. It. Will. Come.”

—oo sharpened her eyes. ”That. Is. Concerning. That. They. Have. Managed. To. Find. A. Source. Of. Information. On. Our. Most. Confidential. Actions.”

——oooo was not nearly as concerned as her sister. ”We. Have. Mobilized. Warships. Including. A. Mothership… That. Cannot. Possibly. Be. Hidden.”

The leader of the Virus Faction knew her sister was right, of course. War mobilization was not something that could be done on a small scale. The humans had also begun mobilizing warships, their various combat units, and small crafts. There were also visible shifts in supply lines and the logistics surrounding them that the arakai were able to identify.

Their surveillance of human civilization had revealed numerous other things that had caught their eyes as well.

”According. To. Our. Interweb. Espionage. Division… The. Humans. Have. Recently. Managed. To. Identify. Two. Infected. Worlds. And. Have. Commenced. Mining. Operations. On. Them,” the Divine Mother of the Virus Faction clicked with intense eyes. ”It. Appears. That. The. Humans. Are. Good. At. Sniffing. Out. Infected. Worlds.”

”That’s. Not. Too. Surprising. Considering. They. Found. One. Of. Our. Outpost. Worlds,” Divine Mother ——oooo clicked with ease. ”They. Must. Have. Some. Way. Of. Identifying. Infected. Worlds. Might. Have. Something. To. Do. With. Their. Strange. Paths.”

As far as the leader of the War Faction was concerned, this was not a very interesting observation. Especially considering that there were many other aspects of human civilization that were much more extraordinary than simply their ability to find infected worlds.

For instance, what she was really interested in was acquiring the tremendous combat power of the pathwalkers of human civilization. The fact that their infantry was equal to that of Arakai Web Civilization despite the latter being a thousand times larger than human civilization was utterly astonishing.

Then there was the unfathomable rate of expansion. Conquering ten thousand stars in just thirteen revolutions of their home planet around their home star. Of course, conquering ten thousand stars was easy for the arakai, but the first ten thousand were always the most difficult and time-consuming phase of interstellar expansion.

It had taken the arakai a whole millennium to conquer as many stars, though things proceeded much faster and more smoothly once they crossed a critical phase of expansion and their technology breached a certain point.

Divine Mother ——oooo knew, from all the reports that she had gotten, that it was only a matter of time before the humans surpassed them on the technological front as well. Technology was hard to grade because every species approached it differently. But there were universal landmarks.

The electromagnetic force, the nuclear force, the gravitational force. Space-time technology. Higher technology. There was also a universal metric of energy harnessing in their technology. What sources of energy a civilization was able to tap into spoke a lot about their technological advancement.

The arakai had already confirmed that black hole energy generators, Dyson Spheres, and antimatter were common high technology. And the dwarves had even gone as far as to master one of the highest classes of energy technology, which was dark energy technology.

At the rate of advancement that they were going through, it was only a matter of time before the dwarves, and later the rest of human civilization, would reach and even surpass the arakai.

”We. Must. Acquire. The. Power. Of. Paths. And. Pathwalkers. Before. Then,” Divine Mother ——oooo declared with a serious tone of voice. ”But. More. Than. Anything. We. Must. Learn. How. To. Overcome. The. Price. Of. The. Webverse.”
