Fated to My Billionaire Husband

”Then why didn’t you go in with her just now?”

”You didn’t see how aggrieved your wife looked; I didn’t want to accompany her inside!

But I wasn’t thinking too much at the time. If I had known, I would have gone in with her.

She’s five months pregnant. If it’s confirmed to be a boy, that’s good. If it’s a girl, it’s better to abort early.

Otherwise, if we come back for a checkup next month, the child will be too big to easily abort.”

Jian Yufei looked at the middle-aged woman in astonishment.

The man awkwardly said, ”Mom, sons and daughters are the same.”

The middle-aged woman said coldly, ”How can they be the same? Can a daughter carry on the family line? Besides, you can only have one child, if it’s a daughter, you can forget about having a son.”

”Mom...” The man wanted to say more, but one glare from the middle-aged woman silenced him completely.

But his ambiguous attitude also showed that he actually preferred having a son.

Jian Yufei calmly turned her gaze away.

She couldn’t interfere in other people’s affairs, but she felt that being a woman wasn’t easy.

The type of child one carries isn’t decided by the woman, so why should the consequences fall solely on her?

Some men don’t understand women, but shouldn’t women understand each other?

That mother-in-law was obviously making things difficult for her daughter-in-law on purpose.

Jian Yufei sighed in relief, feeling grateful that her own mother-in-law treated her well, and Ruan Tianling was even better to her.

Even without Ansel and Junqi, she knew that even if she gave birth to a daughter, Ruan Tianling would have no objections.

Ruan Tianling suddenly tightened his grip on her hand, smiling lightly, ”Don’t sigh, or our daughter might not be pretty.”

Jian Yufei laughed, ”What if it’s a son?”

”What do we need a son for? Some sons live such mediocre lives, a daughter is much more thoughtful.”

Jian Yufei raised an eyebrow. Was he subtly mocking the man across from them?

Sure enough, the man’s face turned red, and he looked extremely embarrassed.

”But in my opinion, sons and daughters are both your children. If you don’t even like your own child, why get married and have kids? You might as well live alone,” Jian Yufei added bluntly.

Ruan Tianling’s smile broadened, ”My wife is right. Sons and daughters are the same; we should cherish them both. If you don’t like them, then don’t have them. Live alone and don’t harm other families’ cherished daughters.”

The middle-aged woman across from them realized they were being mocked.

She glared at them angrily, wanting to retort a few words.

Ruan Tianling shot a cold glare at her, and the middle-aged woman immediately backed down.

Jian Yufei didn’t say anything more, just looked a bit cold.

...

After a while, the door of the ultrasound room opened, and a young woman walked out.

The man across stood up and quickly walked over, ”Honey, how is it? Is the baby okay?”

The woman saw him and smiled.

”The baby is doing well, but I wanted to know if it’s a boy or a girl, and the doctor didn’t tell me.”

The man smiled, ”Whether it’s a boy or a girl, it doesn’t matter. No rush to find out.”

The woman’s eyes lit up, ”I was thinking the same thing...”

Jian Yufei saw that the man had come to terms with it, and felt happy for the woman.

”Next, please,” the nurse called them.

Ruan Tianling helped her up, and as Jian Yufei passed by the woman, she smiled at her.

The woman smiled back.

They entered the ultrasound room, where the doctor, who had been instructed, warmly received them.
