Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1617: Chapter 1617: The Rascal is Sleeping In

But what he got was not Jian Yufei’s smiling response.

Instead, it was a cold, frosty rejection: ”Get lost!”

”...” Qi Ruigang’s face darkened slightly. He snorted coldly, ”Even if you beg me, I wouldn’t do this kind of thing!”

”You’re the one begging to do it!” Mo Lan snapped without reservation, not once glancing at him from start to finish.

Qi Ruigang’s face grew even gloomier. ”Do you think I care?! I only considered helping you because your hand isn’t convenient.”

”Don’t forget why my hand isn’t convenient!” Mo Lan shot him an icy, resentful look.

Qi Ruigang’s chest paused in suffocation, his mood turning increasingly irritable.

That knife of his had directly sentenced Mo Lan to condemn him for life.

In this lifetime, she would never forgive this kind of devil!

Qi Ruigang didn’t know what to say. He pressed his thin lips tightly together, stood there for a few minutes, but realizing nobody paid him any attention and treated him like air, he left with a cold expression.

With his presence gone, the air became much more fresh and breathable.

Actually, it wasn’t only Mo Lan who disliked him; Jian Yufei wasn’t fond of him either.

Back then, Jian Yufei had personally witnessed Qi Ruigang’s actions.

If it weren’t for Ruan Tianling needing to collaborate with him, she wouldn’t have spared him a single glance.

As he left, Jian Yufei and Mo Lan felt much lighter, and the atmosphere for making mooncakes became warm and harmonious again.

...

The first batch of mooncakes came out of the oven.

The freshly baked mooncakes were incredibly fragrant and crispy, so tempting that they made mouths water.

Normally, they would need to be rested for a while to let the oil seep back in, allowing the skin to soften before eating.

But they couldn’t wait. They decided to eat them as they were.

”Where’s Ansel, let’s have him taste some.” Jian Yufei placed the mooncakes onto a plate and said impatiently.

Only then did they realize that they hadn’t seen Ansel all morning.

Usually, he would have been up long ago. Yesterday, he had said he wanted to help make mooncakes today, but now it was already noon, and he hadn’t gotten up yet.

”Is that rascal sleeping in?” Ruan Tianling murmured curiously to himself.

Probably not... He had made a promise to help make mooncakes, and he would definitely have woken up early.

Jian Yufei couldn’t help but feel worried. ”I’ll go check on him.”

She wiped her hands, and immediately rushed upstairs.

Pushing open the bedroom door, Jian Yufei saw that he was indeed still sleeping, and her heart relaxed instantly.

Ansel was wearing a pair of adorable cartoon pajamas, clutching his blanket tightly as he slept sweetly.

His little face was snow-white and rosy, with long, curling eyelashes. The tranquil way he lay sleeping looked just like a delicate doll.

Jian Yufei sat by the bedside and looked at her son’s cute face, her heart melting completely.

Did the little guy stay up late last night?

The sun’s already high in the sky, why hasn’t he gotten up?

Jian Yufei gently nudged his little body. ”Ansel, wake up, it’s time to get up. Don’t sleep anymore.”

Ansel groggily opened his eyes. ”Mommy?”

”Did you stay up late last night? This is the first time you’ve ever gotten up this late. Children shouldn’t stay up.” Jian Yufei said lovingly with a smile, showing not the slightest hint of reproach.

Ansel suddenly sat up straight, startled awake.

”Mommy, what time is it now?”

”Almost eleven o’clock.”

Ansel looked at the clock on the bedside table in disbelief—it really was almost eleven.

He said dejectedly, ”How could I sleep for this long? Mommy, I didn’t mean to be lazy today. I don’t even know why I slept so much.”

Jian Yufei wrapped him in her arms and took off his pajamas.

”It’s okay, children sleeping more is good for their health.”
