Fated to My Billionaire Husband

Chapter 1611: Chapter 1611: Why Hide It From Me

Jian Yufei pressed her lips together and changed the topic: ”What are your plans next? What should we do?”

Ruan Tianling held her and said, ”I’ve got it all planned out. Tomorrow, I’ll take you to explore the scenery here. The day after, we’ll watch the sunrise. And the day after that...”

”Ruan Tianling!” Jian Yufei interrupted him helplessly. ”You know that’s not what I meant. What I’m asking is, after we escaped, what do we do next?”

”What else can we do? Once you’re fully recovered, we’ll set off for home. There are so many people waiting for us back there. If Grandfather and the others learn about Ansel, they’ll definitely be delighted.”

Jian Yufei felt a little dazed. Home.

A City was their home. She really missed being home.

”But you said you needed to go back to London.”

Ruan Tianling nodded, his expression natural. ”You know I left the affairs in London for Sang Li to manage. There are still some handovers that haven’t been completed, so I need to return and take care of them.”

Jian Yufei looked at him silently.

Ruan Tianling’s eyes flickered slightly. He chuckled and asked, ”What’s the matter? You don’t believe what I said?”

”No, I just feel like I shouldn’t have asked.” Jian Yufei responded lightly.

Even though she knew he was deliberately hiding things from her, she couldn’t help but ask. As expected, it only caused her more distress.

Ruan Tianling’s smile faded. ”Did you find something out?”

”If I hadn’t found out, were you planning to keep it from me forever?”

Seeing that her emotions seemed stable, Ruan Tianling knew she still didn’t know about the USB drive.

He considered for a moment before probing: ”Did Miss Mo tell you anything?”

Jian Yufei didn’t answer, which was as good as a confirmation.

”Alright, I’ll admit it. I want to establish ties with Qi Ruigang. Having one more friend is better than one more enemy. Besides, Nangong Xu might not let us go, so I’m just trying to prepare for the worst.”

”But why did you hide it from me?” Jian Yufei asked in confusion. ”There’s nothing to hide about this. What’s your reason for keeping it from me?”

”You’ve been unwell these past few days. I just didn’t want you to worry.”

Jian Yufei abruptly pulled away from his hand. ”You’re still lying to me!”

”Back on the cruise ship, you were already thinking about winning over Qi Ruigang, but you didn’t tell me anything back then. Ruan Tianling, I don’t understand why you keep things from me.”

Of course, it was because he was afraid she’d find out about the other child.

If she learned about it, she’d lose her mind!

Ruan Tianling held her shoulders. ”I really don’t want you to worry. I’m afraid if you know I’m planning something against Nangong Xu, you’ll be scared for me.”

”Really?” Jian Yufei clearly didn’t believe him.

That explanation was far too flimsy.

Ruan Tianling’s eyes darkened, but he nodded. ”Really!”

Jian Yufei stared at him for a few seconds. Ruan Tianling remained as composed as ever, and she gave in.

”Alright, I believe you.” She’d rather doubt her own suspicions than him.

Ruan Tianling suddenly pulled her tightly into his arms. He pressed her head against his chest, preventing her from seeing the emotions in his eyes.

”Yufei, don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can to protect you and the child, to give you both a safe haven. I want you to live without fear or concern, to be happy and carefree. Do you understand what I mean?”

Jian Yufei’s body suddenly relaxed.

Leaning against him, inhaling his comforting scent, her heart felt grounded and steady.

”Mm, I understand. I understand everything.” This man was the one person in the world who would never hurt her.
