Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 457: Chapter 229: Nine-headed Serpent Vine, Bloodlust Awakens, Underground Catacombs

”Qingru, you guard the array, I’ll go check the cemetery below.”

.....

The Treasure Vault is less than a thousand feet away from the Back Mountain.

Gongsun Wen searched around with three others and cursed, ”This Cao Family dared to claim they’re Ninth Grade. Damn it, the Treasure Vault is filled with nothing but scrap metal, not a single treasure, making me come here for nothing.”

The four of them were talking.

When they exited the Treasure Vault.

They suddenly saw an array light curtain light up in the direction of the Back Mountain:

”Eh, could it be that the Cao Family’s treasures are hidden in the Back Mountain.”

Gongsun Wen’s eyes lit up instantly.

Just as he was about to go over.

They saw four rays of rainbow light land in front of them, revealing Second Elder Cao and three others. Cao Xueyang, seeing Gongsun Wen and his group, looked very displeased and said coldly:

”Fellow Daoist Gongsun, hand over what you took from our Cao Family’s Treasure Vault!”

”A stray dog dares to bark in front of me!”

Gongsun Wen couldn’t be bothered with Cao Xueyang.

The Cao Family is merely Ninth Grade.

And now they might not even maintain Ninth Grade, yet they dare to challenge him. Such arrogance. He directly gestured and said:

”Let’s go, let’s check the Back Mountain.”

”If you don’t leave the items, no one leaves today!”

Cao Xueyang couldn’t tolerate such disregard and immediately flashed forward, wielding the Mountain Mist Purple-Blue Sword, blocking their path. The other three from the Cao Family also surrounded them.

Gongsun Wen and his group were all new Foundation Establishments.

While Second Elder Cao and Third Elder Cao were veteran Foundation Establishments, certainly better in terms of battle prowess.

Gongsun Wen’s eyes slightly narrowed:

”Good, you Cao Family actually dares to defy a High-Grade Noble Family, just wait there, who cares for your scrap metal.”

Gongsun Wen patted his storage bag.

Immediately, a dozen spiritual materials were thrown on the ground, and the three with him also tossed a dozen spiritual materials out.

Cao Xueyang glanced over but was not very satisfied.

How could their Treasure Vault only have this? He was about to speak.

But was glared at by his father, Second Elder Cao, who yielded the path.

Gongsun Wen snorted coldly.

And left the Cao Family with the three others.

At the foot of the mountain.

The three Foundation Establishments with Gongsun Wen couldn’t swallow their anger:

”Brother Wen, are we just leaving like this? Clearly, there was an array fluctuation in the Back Mountain earlier, maybe the Cao Family’s treasures are buried there. Leaving like this would be a pity?”

”Don’t worry, follow me, when have I let you suffer in silence? In a moment, you all...”

Gongsun Wen quickly transmitted a few words.

The clan members’ eyes lit up, and they immediately gave a thumbs-up:

”No wonder Brother Wen is so resourceful!”

....

On the mountain.

Cao Xueyang grumbled while picking up dozens of spiritual materials from the ground, very displeased:

”Father, this Gongsun Family is too unreasonable. We pay tribute to them every year, and when our family is in trouble, they don’t come to help. Now they’re taking advantage of the situation, not even matching the demeanor of an Eighth-Grade Noble Family, worse than bandits.”

Second Elder Cao frowned.

Patiently said:

”Xueyang, in the future, think thrice before acting, we are not the same Cao Family as before, be careful with your words to avoid disaster.”

”Okay.”

Cao Xueyang replied with bowed head.

The two circled the Treasure Vault, discovering nothing was left, and when they reached the Scripture Pavilion, they encountered some loose cultivators, who immediately withdrew upon seeing the Cao Family members.

After circling around.

They found nothing left in the clan.

Cao Xueyang’s gaze fell on the Back Mountain:

”Father, let’s check the Back Mountain.”

Previously, only the Patriarch could enter the Back Mountain Forbidden Area.

Everyone present was curious about what it held.

Second Elder Cao nodded slightly.

Just as he was about to move.

Suddenly.

His Divine Sense detected.

A swirling black cloud approaching the mountain gate at a rapid pace, upon closer look, it was not a cloud, but Tai Chi Locusts.

But.

There were too many Tai Chi Locusts.

Almost reaching a hundred thousand.

Among them.

There were indeed the auras of ten Tier Two Tai Chi Locusts.

Cao Xueyang also saw them and cursed:

”Damn it, it must be that little bastard Gongsun Wen causing this!”

”This place is no longer safe, hurry and leave!”

Second Elder Cao reluctantly glanced at the Back Mountain.

Cao Xueyang hesitated and said;

”Father, why don’t we hide in the sanctuary for a while?”

”No, that is a refuge for Qi Cultivation clan members, if others find out, they might do something mad, head to the Wanning Marketplace, quickly!”

With that said.

The four of them immediately flew away on their magical artifacts.

However.

Hovering mid-air, they realized Tai Chi Locusts were swarming from all four directions.

Second Elder Cao’s pupils contracted.

Gongsun Wen appeared polite, but was ruthless when being vicious, he immediately directed southwards:

”Form an array and fly south, quickly!”

If they waited for the swarms to converge.

Some of them might not make it out today.

At this moment.

Second Elder Cao gritted his silver teeth and immediately summoned a Tier Two Top-Grade Flame Split Talisman, with a hand technique, it burst into a brilliant flame, turning into a sea of fire engulfing the Tai Chi Locusts to the south.

Fortunately, among the four of them.

Two were cultivating Fire Attribute Techniques.

With the Flame Split Talisman clearing the way, they escaped without incident.

....

In the Back Mountain.

After Fu Changsheng entered the cemetery.

He immediately activated the Cloud Ring Purple Immortal Tower, and the cyan-faced white fox from the second level of the pagoda flashed out. Fu Changsheng fed it a few Cloud Heart Fruits, its tail wagged, flickering with cyan light, and it burrowed into the ground.

Simultaneously, Fu Changsheng quickly scanned each tomb with his Divine Sense.
