Family Rise by Daily Intelligence

Chapter 452: Chapter 227: Annihilation of the Clan, Outbreak of the Insect Tide, Ten Thousand Spirits Sect

Buzz, buzz, buzz!!

The overwhelming black beetles swarmed in.

Among these black beetles,

there were unexpectedly more than a dozen with Tier Two cultivation. Under their control, the black beetles darkened the sky, attacking like an army descending upon the Array Hub.

Second Elder Cao shouted loudly:

”Third Brother, Xiaoyang, Sixth, quickly, form the array!!!”

The black beetle army was endless; they could kill dozens or hundreds, but not tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands, and eventually, they would run out of mana!

The four of them moved their steps, forming a strange array, quickly breaking through the black beetle tide.

Heading towards the entrance of the shelter.

Yet the insect tide gathered more and more, and as they slew one wave, higher-tier black beetles were born. Those dozen Tier Two black beetles were near the shelter entrance. If they couldn’t keep the black beetles out,

today would be the day the Cao Family was exterminated.

Second Elder Cao gritted his silver teeth:

”Third Brother, Xiaoyang, Sixth, head southwest!”

The southwest had the weakest insect tide.

That was also the Hee Family’s fief.

At that moment, Second Elder Cao could no longer care for the pain of using it. With a wave of his sleeve, a Tier Three Talisman Treasure flashed out, and with a Daoist Technique entered, with a boom, the treasure self-ignited, a roar echoed, and a Fire Flood Dragon materialized, speeding towards the southwest, where black beetles fell like rain.

The four relied on this single-use Tier Three Talisman Treasure.

Finally breaking out of the encirclement of the insect tide, carving a bloody path.

...

Meanwhile.

The entire South Huai Prefecture was enacting a scene of insect tide attacking cities.

Wherever the black beetles passed, they were like locusts sweeping through, leaving not a blade of grass, be it human, demon beast, or plant, all devoured clean.

Days later.

After the situation in various fiefs stabilized.

Fu Changsheng quickly received a message from the South Huai Prefecture Ninth-Grade Noble Family Council.

Returning to the Secret Chamber.

A Daoist Technique was cast on the Patriarch Jade Talisman.

Buzz!

A traction force fell.

Soon his figure was projected in the assembly hall of the Ninth-Grade Noble Family.

Fu Changsheng glanced around.

The Cui Family, Qii Family, and Hongg Family’s iron trio appeared unharmed at the council, the Lin Family was actually under the control of the Shangguan Family, so they also evaded a calamity during the insect tide, Lin Clan Leader also appeared at the council, and the Liang Family and Hee Family were present too.

Only the Cao Family was absent.

Fu Changsheng furrowed his brows.

When the insect tide broke out, he had clearly already warned the Cao Clan Leader, logically, they shouldn’t have been affected, could it be they were delayed by other miscellaneous affairs?

At this time.

Hee Clan Leader sighed and spoke first:

”I have some unfortunate news to share, the Cao Clan Leader has already passed away from illness, the Spirit Vein and Spirit Field of the Cao Family have been completely devoured by the insect tide, apart from four Foundation Establishment members who escaped to my Hee Family, the fate of the other clansmen hidden in the underground shelter is unknown, and the mortal cities have all been swallowed by the black beetles.”

How could this be?

Fu Changsheng was stunned for a moment.

At this time.

He heard Hee Clan Leader’s voice transmission:

”Thank you, Fu Clan Leader, for your timely warning, it saved our Hee Family from disaster.”

Fu Changsheng harbored doubts.

Feeling something was amiss, he quickly sent a message to Hee Clan Leader:

”Brother Hee, no need for formalities, we are in-laws and should look out for each other, but I have one thing in mind. Before the insect tide broke out, I had warned Elder Clan Leader Cao, logically, the Cao Family shouldn’t have encountered such a situation.”

When they built Demon-Defying City,

Hee Clan Leader generously provided the Thousand Sun Stone and also married his daughter into the Fu Family.

Fu Changsheng still felt the need to remind Hee Clan Leader to be vigilant of the few Foundation Establishment members of the Cao Family, to prevent a cuckoo from occupying the magpie’s nest.

”Brother Fu, you said you also warned the Cao Family.”

”Yes, I almost simultaneously sent messages to both of your families, and Elder Clan Leader Cao even replied to me, saying he would definitely visit to thank me after leaving seclusion.”

Upon hearing this, Hee Clan Leader’s expression changed.

He subtly probed and learned from the Cao Family members that they had not received any warning, but Fu Changsheng had no reason to deceive him, and Elder Clan Leader Cao only perished after the insect tide, which means he certainly received Fu Changsheng’s message:

”Could it be.....”

Hee Clan Leader thought of a possibility.

His pupils contracted.

....

After hearing the bad news of the Cao Family.

The crowd was silent for a while.

As the presiding officer, Cui Clan Leader was the first to speak:

”This insect tide outbreak is extremely suspicious, happening almost overnight, surely each of your families has suffered some losses, to avoid a repeat of the Cao Family’s fate, we must quickly devise a way to expel the black beetles, within a few short days, over a hundred have already evolved to Tier Two, allowing them to continue will likely result in the emergence of a Tier Three Insect King.”

In the face of disaster,

everyone set aside their usual scheming.

Liang Clan Leader sighed:

”To eradicate these black beetles, we must understand their unique traits and find their weakness. Black beetle is merely a name we have given them, yet what exactly are these demon insects, does anyone present know?”

The scene was silent for a while.

Cui Clan Leader hesitated and said:

”Our Cui Family ancestors once visited the Land of the Far West.

His notes mentioned that there was once an insect tide outbreak there too, but it was Desert Locusts. Later, it was quelled by the intervention of the Ten Thousand Spirits Sect of the Land of the Far West.

The Desert Locusts and the black beetles we see are different.

The black beetles emerging in South Huai Prefecture evolved to Tier Two, with greatly enhanced defensive power, common magic cannot break their black armor, and their reproduction speed is frighteningly fast.”

The black beetles appear to be an advanced form of Desert Locusts.”

Upon hearing the Land of the Far West, everyone’s hearts skipped a beat.

The Land of the Far West, where sects are prevalent, and the cultivation realm there is controlled by sects.

The Ten Thousand Spirits Sect is one of the Ten Great Sects in the Land of the Far West, and in recent years, there have been constant frictions between the Great Zhou and the sects of the Land of the Far West.

After listening to Cui Clan Leader’s account,

they sensed a faint whiff of conspiracy.

Liang Clan Leader hesitated and said:

”Could it be that the insect tide in our South Huai Prefecture was orchestrated by sects from the Land of the Far West?”
