Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2791: Chapter 2786: 13 Days’ Tale (43)

Even the weakest in a three-person act can find ways to take the initiative.

For instance, by making others unable to figure out where they’ve turned, or if they’re still involved.

For Fu Qian, although there are still various things that can’t be confirmed at present, one conclusion can almost be reached—whether he enters the office of the attending doctor is very important to the other two people.

Has this become non-operational?

So far, both the directors and Servis seem to have revealed their hands.

Every move he makes is under surveillance, transitions and shifts are under control, including the decision to enter the door or not has become part of the game.

This is also why the term director came about, and now there are even two directors.

But regardless of how many directors there are, what if they can’t see what the actor is doing?

There shouldn’t be many who have the guts to directly cut such a thing into the final cut for review, right?

Actually, what was just done is very simple, making the two players with a God’s perspective lose their visual advantage.

Not only was Wayne Falter directly chased away, but the entire floor also left no living soul.

And it’s not over yet, while sketching the structure of the basement in his mind, Fu Qian closed all the lights and even the doors along the way.

It turns out, Wayne Falter did a conscientious job, after his promise, he truly took everyone away without leaving anyone behind.

As the underground part of the building, losing the artificial lighting caused the visibility to drastically decline, physically darkening the space.

In such an environment, unless the two directors installed invisible surveillance, with night vision capability even, they should be unable to capture any movement inside.

Of course, this is based on scientific principles; once supernatural elements are involved, it’s a different story.

But it doesn’t matter, this perfectly presents an opportunity to see whether these two powerful players really possess some extraordinary elements to perform this ”prophetic” move.

In any case, one must be good at discovering their own advantages.

After confirming the common weak point of the other two players, Fu Qian instantly set this strategy and eagerly anticipated their subsequent reactions.

Of course, there’s a minor operational issue here—observation is mutual.

Even if they cannot see inside, he himself cannot see outside either.

If he wants to turn this place into a Black Box to the greatest extent, he can’t be careless at all.

Considering the strangeness exhibited by this place all along, even without obvious extraordinary signs, Fu Qian isn’t planning to play any clever trick, like making an inconspicuous peephole to secretly observe outside.

In the dimness, he had once again returned to the front of the attending physician’s office, even bringing a wooden chair with him.

At the stairway leading to the corridor, though there is also an iron gate that can be pulled up.

But while its patterns are exquisite, they do not block the line of sight.

As a result, Fu Qian not only locked it completely but also specially found two partition curtains from the adjacent diagnosis room to hang inside the door to block the view.

After doing all this, facing the office door that wasn’t locked, he still did not go in, instead sat back on the wooden chair, waiting quietly in the darkness.

...

It must be said, there’s an uncanny sense of déjà vu come back to the past.

Darkness and silence, though his body is not restrained, in theory, he’s trapping himself in this small corner in this peculiar form.

Similar to the solitary room at the start of the mission, one might say it has a uniquely similar effect.

Leaving one to anticipate, what kind of passion will explode in front of him this time—click.

In fact, it did not keep him waiting long; at a certain moment, a slight sound responded to the anticipation.

And the sound was so familiar that it was easy to discern; someone was coming down the stairs step by step.

The pace wasn’t fast, but there was a determination in its slowness.

Seemingly, even if the road ahead is blocked, there wouldn’t be any turning back.

Click, click, click...

The feeling seemed not wrong, the footsteps approaching all the way, until finally stopping outside the retractable door with no further movements.

Despite the obvious obstruction ahead, the other party not only doesn’t turn back but doesn’t even knock on the door, as if standing firmly there. 𝘧𝓇ℯℴ𝓂

Interesting.

Sitting still, Fu Qian couldn’t help but develop a strong interest beyond the partition curtains.

In fact, even if the party called out for someone to open the door, he wouldn’t simply interpret it as someone taking the wrong path.

That’s having confidence in the directors.

Having demonstrated an astonishing control over the sanatorium all the way through, how could they give up at such a sensitive moment?

Besides, it’s not just one director now, but two directors.

Even if the person outside doesn’t know, really coming for a check-up, the only explanation is still that the directors intentionally let them here as part of the response to the Black Box strategy targeting him.

More so, the current stillness has become visibly abnormal.

Anyone familiar with horror movies knows, standing silently like this without saying a word, is far more terrifying than knocking or yelling loudly.

Especially paired with staring unblinking at you.

Though unable to see the other side’s scene, in Fu Qian’s judgment, the probability of such a scene is quite high.

Click—

Yet it’s not over, as Fu Qian imagines the scene across the curtain, the footsteps begin once again.

And it sounds as if the other party has not finally lost patience and is ready to advance and kick the door in.

The direction of the new footsteps is actually somewhat far, seemingly descending the stairs again.

...

Another expert?

Fu Qian is still confident, the other party didn’t sneak upstairs quietly and then come down to scare people.

For besides the difference in footstep rhythm, just by the sound made by the wooden ladder, one could tell the weight of this figure is much heavier.

The only similarity is the consistent pace leading to behind the partition curtain, where the newcomer also quietly stops there without any excessive behavior.

So courteous, quietly queuing without making noise?

Fu Qian clicked his tongue in amazement for a moment, and the scenario outside the door instantly grew more peculiar than ever.

With such a situation occurring consecutively, it’s already beyond the realm that coincidence could explain; the traces of the directors’ involvement are increasingly evident.

And this undoubtedly proves the success of his previous ”Black Box” strategy.

Indeed, the directors are very concerned here and so far there hasn’t been a sign of Extraordinary Perception directly identifying his state from afar—click click!

Even now, it’s not over.

As Fu Qian noted that the pilgrimage-like stance outside made him feel flattered, the number of pilgrims continued to increase.

This time it wasn’t even just one person, a dense cluster of footsteps continued to echo from above the stairs, still coming down one after another, standing guard outside.
