Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 461: Chapter 461 Wasteland (23)_1 Chapter 461: Chapter 461 Wasteland (23)_1 “You, go up too.”

The cold command complete, Sybil turned her head toward Fu Qian.

This guy was truly sticking to his original aspiration!

Fu Qian, who was enjoying the show, realized he indeed couldn’t stay uninvolved.

However, he was quite curious about this special place to begin with, so he had no objections at all.

The beam was at a certain height from their position, but that was no problem at all for Demigods.

With a light leap, Fu Qian was already standing on it.

This beam, having soaked in the sewage below for who knows how many years, was not only odorous to the core, but also looked viscously coated at a glance.

And amid the slippery sensation underfoot, Fu Qian followed Sybil.

Although she was tasked with leading the exploration, Sybil seemed very calm, proceeding neither too slowly nor too quickly.

And within the howling wind, Kelson also landed on the beam, walking behind the two.

The beam wasn’t short, but the efficiency of the three Demigods was higher, and they quickly reached the other side.

At this point, it was clear that the position they had seen from below was a passage perpendicular to the beam, very cleverly concealed among various decorations.

And from this position, one could see a door at the end of the passage that was different from any other door in the place.

Without saying anything, Sibyl led the way, arriving at the foot of the large door in no time.

Fu Qian followed and found the door was likely made of some special metal, cool to the touch.

However, considering it was much smaller than the stone door they encountered earlier, it probably wouldn’t be difficult to open.

“Shall I open it?”

Turning her head, Sybil looked at Kelson to seek his opinion.

Her intention was clear; she didn’t want Kelson to misunderstand any of her actions.

“Okay.”

Kelson nodded succinctly and took two steps to the side.

The position he chose allowed him to see the scene inside the door immediately and, if there was any possible attack inside, would keep him from being the first in line.

Having received his consent, Sibyl didn’t delay and applied force immediately.

With a heavy creaking sound, the black door slowly pushed open inward.

Nothing rushed out.

After waiting a few seconds, Sybil turned her head and looked at Colson again with an inquiring gaze.

As soon as he nodded, Sybil was ready to go in and investigate, but Kelson pointed at Fu Qian.

“You go in first.”

“Sure!”

Fu Qian stepped forward without surprise, showing no hesitation.

The space behind the door wasn’t large and seemed more like a living room rather than the ceremonially designed halls they’d seen before.

And in the depth of the room, directly opposite the doorway, was an object resembling a bed or couch, on which a figure was hunching over, shrouded in a colorless long cloth.

Beyond that, there was nothing particularly special.

What is this…

Ascertaining that no abnormalities had occurred, Sibyl and Colson also walked in, focusing on the figure right away.

“Lift the cloth!”

After a few seconds of silence, Kelson ordered Fu Qian directly.

Being a Demigod, he could naturally tell that the kneeling person had long been dead.

But all along their journey, this underground relic was obviously strange, and it paid to use available cannon fodder.

Fu Qian, entrusted with high expectations, didn’t refuse, moving forward two steps while simultaneously pulling out his gun.

Stretching the gun barrel beneath the cloth, he lightly flicked it up.

Whatever years it had weathered, the cloth had long since decayed, and in an instant, it shattered into several pieces, revealing the body beneath.

Hiss!

Kelson’s surprised voice almost sounded at the same time.

Underneath the cloth was indeed a desiccated body that looked as though it had been dead for quite some time.

However, for some reason, it hadn’t decomposed into a pile of bones, but had shriveled into a mummy.

As a proud demigod, Colson certainly couldn’t be shocked by a mere corpse.

What caught his attention were the several shackles beneath the body, firmly fixing both legs and forcing it to maintain a kneeling position.

Looking further up, both hands were similarly shackled, with long chains extending from them.

Additionally, from the long hair that was tied up, the body appeared to be that of a lady.

Whatever the reason, the person who did this seemed intent on making her maintain a posture of repentance.

“She has… four hands?”

At this moment, Kelson stepped closer and pointed towards the back of the mummy.

Beyond the arms that were bound together in the front, there were indeed two withered bones there.

“Could it be that she was locked up here because of her bodily deformity?”

Following Kelson’s discovery, Sybil cooperatively analyzed.

“Yes, but no.”

Fu Qian, however, shook his head on the side.

“What do you mean?”

Kelson stared coldly at him, his eyes filled with undisguised killing intent.

He had always been wary of this enigmatic fellow.

Now, considering his behavior all this way, it was clear he wasn’t an ordinary character, and his true intentions for coming here were truly intriguing.

“Being locked up here because of bodily deformity is indeed a possibility.”

“But you need to look carefully; what’s on her back doesn’t resemble hands, but rather, they’re more like wings,” said Fu Qian without regard to Kelson, continuing his explanation.

“Wings?”

Kelson’s tone was thick with astonishment, as he and Sybil looked down together.

With Fu Qian’s reminder, they also noticed the abnormalities.

Though almost curled up into a ball, the elongated bone structures at the tips, abnormally forked and paired with the exterior membrane, did indeed more resemble the shape of wings.

How could this be!

Wings, angels, dungeons, could this be the cell where they kept an angel?

While the two were astonished, Fu Qian thought about his own mission.

“If we go by your theory,”

it was then that Sybil extended a hand, which held two feathers of varying lengths and colors.

“We have seen many feathers along the way… and she has wings… it’s easy to make the connection.”

“But why are there no feathers to be seen on the wings?”

“Her hair is well-preserved; it’s not possible that just the feathers decayed.”

“One must open their mind,”

Fu Qian gestured at his head in response to the question.

“The answer we discussed earlier might very well explain your question.”

“She was locked up here because of her deformity… having wings is certainly one possibility, and having wings without feathers could also be a possibility, couldn’t it?”

This…

Fu Qian’s response once again left both demigods silent.

“What you’ve said is indeed a possibility,”

Sybil finally spoke slowly after a long time.

“Considering the mirrors at the entrance and the feathers around, those who built this ruin definitely had a faith related to wings, and it wouldn’t be strange for some special individuals to be deemed sacrilege.”

“Very good!”

Fu Qian nodded in approval and simultaneously raised his gun and pulled the trigger.

“As the saying goes, ‘If one learns righteousness in the morning, one can die content in the evening’!”
