Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 394: 394 Chapter Prosthetic Eye (Complete)_1

Fu Qian’s appearance was certainly not random.

From the moment he cracked open Teresa’s skull, Fu Qian had been pondering the relationship between the Inner Eye and the ‘See Me’ faction.

In his view, there was a certain congruence between the two, despite their diametrically opposed approaches.

Both were a significant departure from convention; Collins and the ‘See Me’ faction tended to completely open themselves up, relinquishing their subjective consciousness, and accepting the scrutiny and guidance of the Divine Beings.

Whereas Claudio’s Inner Eye seemed to do the opposite; it appeared to be about peering into the mysteries of the Divine.

In a sense, they might be called the ‘I See’ faction.

As is widely known, heretics are often more detestable than pagans.

Envy is all the more intense when they meet face to face.

So Fu Qian chose to transform into a core figure of Byeluk to test Claudio’s reaction.

And judging from the looks of things, Collins’ appearance seemed to have taken the two in front of him by surprise.

Li Min appeared to be shocked that Fu Qian’s true face was that of an old man, and was left staring dumbfounded for a moment.

As for Claudio, he was genuinely startled and then began grinding his teeth subtly.

“Collins…”

“Should I take it as a compliment that you can still recognize me?”

Fu Qian responded with a smile, feigning a demeanor of old friends reuniting.

They obviously knew each other and there seemed to be no shortage of grudges between them.

“That’s what I should be asking you, isn’t it?”

Claudio’s expression, however, was somewhat suspicious.

“You still have the concept of ‘I’? I thought you had long abandoned your own will, completely lost in domination.”

“What do you know? That’s not called abandoning one’s will. On the contrary, it’s about utilizing a new perspective to sublime one’s own will, a perfect transformation, if you will.”

“If you’re not in it, you can’t begin to imagine its beauty.”

“Hmph, deluding yourself… So what are you doing here?”

Claudio obviously did not want to dwell on that topic and, after a brief comment, he squinted and asked.

“Didn’t I say it already? Heretics must die!”

“Kill me? Is that the will your god has entrusted to you? Has he even strengthened your body for it?”

Seeing that Fu Qian wasn’t joking, a weight seemed to send Claudio’s heart sinking.

“That, I cannot easily explain to you.”

Fu Qian touched his rounded head.

“You might say that ‘someone’ has indeed entrusted me with this will.”

“Imbecile!”

Claudio clenched his teeth; the thought in front of him had a taste of utter determination to kill, no joking matter.

Although their past encounters were not numerous, heretics didn’t need much reason to be at odds with one another.

Unfortunately, he was currently at a disadvantage.

“You can’t begin to imagine what I have achieved over these years.”

“I can’t imagine indeed, especially since I just heard someone killed their own elder sister.”

“I was only following the revelation.

Afterward, the gifts I received surpassed all my previous knowledge.”

Did he just admit it?

“Acting upon revelation, how does that sound any different from me?”

“Don’t be ridiculous; compared to cowards like you who abandon themselves, it’s a matter of fundamental difference.”

“Observe, peer, learn—once enough knowledge is acquired, one day, humanity can become Divine Beings too.”

“Even in death, I wouldn’t be a puppet without will.”

Claudio’s speech was fervent, showing a readiness to face death head-on.

Sadly, Fu Qian could only let out a scoff of derision.

“I have no interest; the pleasure of operating at 0.1% CPU usage is beyond your wildest imagination.”

…

Claudio was momentarily speechless, while Li Min at his side couldn’t help but let out a pained groan she couldn’t suppress.

In just this brief exchange, her body had become covered in wounds and the smell of flesh was growing stronger in the air.

The next moment, she couldn’t help but take a step forward, staring intensely at Fu Qian.

In her gaze, Fu Qian read a certain resolute thought.

Clearly, this one would not easily let go of the opportunity for revenge.

But Fu Qian, without making a move, saw that the man could wait no longer.

“Don’t be nervous.”

Fu Qian gestured with his hand, signaling the man to be patient.

The next moment, his body turned into a shadow and instantly appeared beside Claudio, pressing his hand onto the wound on his back.

Visceral Critical Strike!

After being ambushed, Claudio, whose movements were far from agile, was even less capable of facing an attack from a Demigod Level opponent.

He didn’t even have time to turn his head before he was splattered with blood, seriously injured.

And in the next moment, an indescribable terror appeared on Claudio’s face.

Realized something was wrong? Too late.

Fu Qian didn’t hurry to continue, instead, he watched the other with a smiling gaze.

“Feeling okay?”

Killing the man wasn’t difficult, what mattered was how to kill him.

Just before coming down, Fu Qian had made up his mind.

If his guess was correct and all this was a ritual orchestrated by Claudio, it would seem, at first glance, to be unsolvable.

He had to eliminate the Inner Eye, but Claudio wouldn’t completely die.

But there were solutions. Under the baptism of the frenzy of evil desires, the upgraded Visceral Critical Strike was now extremely violent.

The destruction it caused to everything internal, although somewhat conceptual in description, Fu Qian felt that using it here for the finale might be extraordinarily effective.

Now, judging from Claudio’s reaction, it seemed to have worked indeed.

After the strike, the man no longer had that aura of facing death with equanimity.

Did that strike affect the ritual, and had he realized it?

“You… wait a moment!”

At this point, various lights kept fluctuating on Claudio’s body, appearing to be triggers of diverse Transcendent items, attempting to heal his severe wounds.

The sheer number was staggering, likely gifts he had received before.

“Don’t kill me; I can share with you a ritual that is enough for ascending to demigod status.”

Claudio spoke rapidly, looking truly desperate.

“You mean all this?”

Fu Qian gestured around him.

“Yes.”

Claudio’s response came without hesitation, even though Fu Qian’s words clearly surprised him.

“After I arrived in Posey, I began preparing this ritual.”

To save his life, his tone was extremely sincere.

“The ritual itself isn’t complicated; first, by sharing revelations, perpetuate rituals in the surroundings and connect them with more people.”

“When the tide of the ritual develops to a certain level, where it can propagate spontaneously without guidance, arrange a reasonable death for oneself, completely disconnecting from the real world in every conceptual sense, severing all ties with the tide of the ritual.”

“After one year, you will be resurrected in the form of a Demigod.”

Claudio said all this in one breath, looking expectantly at Fu Qian.

So it was like this, huh.

Fu Qian, too, seemed thoughtful after listening.

Lucky he had intervened just in time, otherwise the mission would have likely ground to a halt. Setting aside where to find this Demigod, he couldn’t exactly wait here in this containment scene for a year, could he?

“Thank you for sharing, but unfortunately, I have no use for it.”

However, in the next moment, Fu Qian still rejected the kind offer.

“Why… why not?”

Desperation filled Claudio’s voice.

“Because I am already a Demigod,”

Fu Qian blinked his eyes, fully releasing the suppression on his aura.

…

“Just kill me!”

In that instant, Claudio’s thoughts nearly froze, and then, realizing what was happening, he turned and charged at Li Min.

Unfortunately, before the also shocked Li Min could react, another Demigod Level Visceral Critical Strike struck.

This terrifying execute instantly eradicated his body, spirit, and everything internal that corresponded.
