Dominating Football with Perfect Ball Control

Chapter 34: 34. Joshua Kimmich’s shock

Today’s starting appearance directly increased Lance’s Fusion Value by 2 points.

Since he had just entered the game and was focused on playing, Lance hadn’t had time to study his new skill.

What exactly was going on?

After kicking the shot out of bounds, Lance finally found time to quickly read the description while the opponent prepared for a goal kick.

”Hardcore Shot: When the player completes a shot within 1 second of a high-difficulty trap, there is a chance to trigger a shot critical hit, with a goal probability of 75%-100%.”

(Note: The critical hit chance is positively correlated with the difficulty coefficient of the trap and evade.)

In simple terms, the more exaggerated and hardcore the trapping and dribbling move, the easier it is to trigger a shot critical hit.

Even if his shooting skill was average, he could still score unstoppable goals.

Lance clearly understood what a 100% guaranteed goal meant.

It didn’t mean 100% on target, but rather a guaranteed goal!

As long as a critical hit was triggered, even if the goal was blocked by a wall, the soccer ball would find its way into the net through a series of bizarre methods, ignoring all obstacles.

This already exceeded normal soccer rules; it was a conceptual god, a pure causality weapon.

Hiss—

”This is so overpowered? Don’t tell me my combat power is going to collapse and I’ll just steamroll everyone to become the GOAT. That would be so boring.”

Lance secretly clicked his tongue.

Of course, he quickly calmed down; this was not easy.

He had already shown off quite a bit just now, trapping the ball with his back to get past an opponent and then volleying a shot.

That was definitely a heaven-defying move in a professional match, one that only Brazilian superstars like Neymar and Ronaldinho could pull off.

Even that didn’t trigger the 100% probability, so it seemed the conditions were quite strict. No wonder it was called ”Hardcore Shot.”

...

The game continued. RB Leipzig, as the underdog, had only one tactic: parking the bus.

The 4-4-2 formation was relatively suitable for defensive counterattacks, with two forwards looking for opportunities upfront and eight players holding the defensive line behind them.

Joshua Kimmich was very active in the backfield, using his ability to cover and intercept, repeatedly breaking up Bayer Leverkusen’s attacks.

This left Lance without many chances to receive the ball for a long time, as his team’s midfield passes were always disrupted by the opponent.

Lance was not in a hurry, slowly looking for opportunities in the attacking third.

”The 3. Liga team RB Leipzig is playing very tenaciously, disrupting Bayer Leverkusen’s offense multiple times.”

”Another Bayer Leverkusen attack, Gonzalo Castro!!”

”He’s dribbling through the middle, trying to through-pass to the forward!!”

”His intention is too obvious, intercepted by Joshua Kimmich!”

”RB Leipzig launches a quick counterattack!!”

”Beautiful!! A penetrating through-pass from Kimmich, directly finding Yussuf Poulsen upfront—”

”This ball is not offside!! It’s a one-on-one!! Shot—”

”Yussuf Poulsen! A wonderful attempt! Unfortunately, goalkeeper Bernd Leno came out in time to resolve it, helping Bayer Leverkusen clear the danger successfully!”

The moment Kimmich passed, Lance’s heart skipped a beat!

This kid is good! One pass broke through the defense!

Yussuf Poulsen was also very fast, just barely missing the goal.

Thankfully, the goalkeeper was strong!

Kimmich happened to pass by Lance, and both of them had a brilliant performance in the first half.

They exchanged a sharp glance, as if saying:

”Well done!”

”You’re not bad either!”

Lance felt it was necessary for him to get serious. It was difficult to get opportunities in front of the box, so it would be better to pull out of the box and look for space.

He didn’t care how far it was from the goal, just getting the ball first was important.

As a result, Lance inevitably came into a 1v1 matchup with Kimmich.

”The game is really being held up by RB Leipzig; they are showing strong resilience. Although Lance had two opportunities, the opponent intentionally targeted him, preventing him from scoring. His performance is still very active and visually appealing.”

”If Bayer Leverkusen doesn’t score before the end of the first half, the advantage will gradually shift to RB Leipzig.”

”Bayer Leverkusen’s attacking phase, advancing to midfield... Lars Bender, he doesn’t know who to pass to.”

”Lance drops back to the front of the center circle to receive, but Kimmich is right behind him!”

On the field, Lance finally ran to shake off the defender’s marking, but just as he was about to receive the ball, Kimmich latched onto him again.

”What the heck?! So intuitive?!”

Lance had expected to shake off his opponent, calmly receive the ball, turn, then find a way to pass it, wait for himself to make a run into the box, and then receive a pass from a teammate to shoot.

This kind of progression would have a higher success rate.

Otherwise, as a lone striker pulling out and away from the box, without advantages in physicality or speed, it would be difficult to break through the opponent’s tight defense alone.

The Nagi Seishiro Template had a weakness: relatively weak impact.

Compared to players with strong impact like Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaká, Nagi Seishiro was more like Berbatov or Bergkamp, with an elegant playing style.

He could stroll, use skill to shake off opponents, but would never rely on brute physical strength or speed.

Kimmich seized this opportunity, pretending not to care about Lance.

The moment the pass was made, he suddenly pressed forward, intercepting from the front!

Lance could only be forced to retreat a few steps to get to the ball first, but his back was already locked by Kimmich. The powerful force was constantly resisting, and Lance was momentarily pushed off balance!

”Heh heh, do you think I’m weak?”

Kimmich was quite pleased.

He looked a bit thin, but his body muscles were actually very solid, and he wasn’t afraid of physical confrontations, otherwise, he wouldn’t be playing as a defensive midfielder.

Kimmich was about to disrupt Lance’s balance and win the ball, but just before falling, Lance, relying on the ball sense and composure from his Nagi Seishiro Template, seized an opportunity at the last moment!

As his body tilted forward to the left, he gently cushioned the incoming ball with the outside edge of his right foot, stopping it in mid-air.

Then, he suddenly performed a scorpion kick with his right foot, sending the ball towards the opponent’s right side!

At the same time, using the momentum of his leftward tilt, he naturally propped himself with his left hand on the ground and spun to the left!

The extreme reaction he made within 1 second caused Joshua Kimmich’s brain to freeze, unsure whether to look left or right!

”OHHHHHH—An elegant nutmeg!!!”

Commentator Mehmet Scholl clapped his hands raw.

He couldn’t describe the shock in his heart with words!

Lance’s way of nutmegging was simply full of artistry! He wasn’t just playing soccer; he was performing!

By the time Kimmich turned, he reached out in vain, unable to grab Lance’s jersey.

The black team uniform, dancing in the wind, with ”No. 39 – Lance” written on it, deeply shocked the young Kimmich!

Years later, when Kimmich wore the Bayern Munich jersey and stood on the Champions League stage, he would still recall that DFB-Pokal afternoon, when his 18-year-old self was mercilessly toyed with by 16-year-old Lance.

”Now?!”

Lance didn’t care about anything else. After nutmegging and shaking off Kimmich, he was still 26 meters from the goal!

Left side, right side... his teammates hadn’t caught up!

A back pass or a cross pass would slow down the rhythm!

While there was no one to intercept him now—

Why not take a shot?

Just then, the ball, having passed Kimmich, bounced on the ground.

A sudden flash of inspiration struck Lance, and a powerful warm current surged from the top of his head all the way down to the Yongquan acupoint on the sole of his foot.

He felt invincible at this moment!

Even if his Rage Value was insufficient, Lance still took the shot—

A volley!

Bang—

With everyone in the stadium dumbfounded, the soccer ball soared like a whistling cannonball, forming a parabola, and came above the goal!

Rapidly descending!

”Hardcore Shot: Difficulty Coefficient 92, Shot Goal Rate 92%”

That was enough.

Lance’s lips already curved into a faint smile.

The opposing goalkeeper stared at the incoming ball, but he was in the sun’s glare, directly hit by the blinding sunlight, and suddenly lost judgment of the ball!

In that very instant, the soccer ball mercilessly grazed the underside of the crossbar—

And plunged into the net!

”Gooooooal—!”

”A world-class goal! From the young Lance!!”

”Before the end of the first half, the 16-year-old teenager, who has been scoring continuously, opened the scoring!”

”Away team Bayer Leverkusen leads by 1 goal!”

”Lance is simply on fire!”
