First Intergalactic Emperor: Starting With The Ancient Goddess

Xavier’s eyes widened in disbelief.

She’d done it.

She’d killed the Titan.

But the victory was short-lived.

From across the field, a familiar voice rang out.

”You... I remember you!” Piolet stepped through the smoke and stopped as he saw her.

His lips curled up. ”You are slave number 32.”

Lyra didn’t flinch. ”I’m not a slave. My name is Lyra!”

She rushed at him, ready to strike.

But she never made it.

Piolet’s fist slammed into her stomach mid-air.

Crack.

She coughed up blood immediately, her body folding from the blow. Her ears dropped, limp.

”LYRA!!”

Xavier moved, but too slow.

Piolet wasn’t finished. With a grin, he up-kicked her chin with full force.

Her body flew into the sky like a ragdoll.

And just when she was about to fall—Piolet jumped.

He was going to crush her mid-air.

Xavier didn’t think. He raised his gun and fired.

Bang!

The bullet hit Piolet—but it was like throwing a pebble at a tank. It bounced off his skin, harmless.

But it worked.

Piolet twisted his landing and missed Lyra.

She crashed into the ground.

Her body hit the dirt hard and rolled twice before going still.

Xavier ran to her.

He slid on his knees, lifting her head.

”Lyra!”

She was breathing—barely.

Blood trickled out of her mouth, her ears. Her ribs were broken. Her face was bruised.

But she was alive.

”Hang on,” he whispered, voice trembling. ”Hang on...”

He clutched her tightly, eyes flicking back to where Piolet now stood, slowly walking toward them again—grinning like a monster.

But even in that moment, Xavier wasn’t scared.

He knew he should be scared. But he wasn’t.

It was as though fear didn’t exist for him.

And then... just like Piolet, a grin spread across Xavier’s face. Unknowingly.

Uncontrollably.

Almost unnaturally.

Piolet stopped in front of him. His shadow loomed over Xavier like a mountain.

”Hmm?” Piolet cocked his head. ”A human...? What is a human doing here? Wait...” He leaned in, sniffing Xavier like a beast sizing up his prey. ”You’re a human... right? You look like one. Smell like one... but...” He paused. ”What’s this scent on you...? Why does it feel familiar?”

Xavier didn’t answer. He just stared.

Unblinking. Unmoving. Unafraid.

Piolet’s gaze drifted to the unconscious Lyra lying beside Xavier.

He gestured at her with his chin. ”Are you with her? What’s your name?”

Xavier didn’t look away. ”Why...” he muttered under his breath, voice calm, ”why are you doing this?”

Piolet blinked.

”Why?” He scoffed, like it was the dumbest question in the galaxy. ”Because I want to.” He laughed. ”I got paid to clean this land and get rid of these lowly pests. So I’m doing it.”

”You could have asked them to leave,” Xavier said, eyes still locked on his. ”They would’ve left. You didn’t need to kill them.” Xavier was genuinely confused. He knew there were people who killed for fun, but there was always a reason.

”This again?” Piolet clicked his tongue. ”Hah! What’s the fun in that?”

”You lost dozens of your men too.”

”So?” Piolet’s grin widened.

”This wasn’t war,” Xavier said, almost like he was talking to himself now. ”This is a genocide. A one sided genocide.”

And that word—genocide—hung in the air like smoke after an explosion.

”So tell me, what’s funny to you?”

Piolet’s smirk faded just slightly.

He stared at Xavier.

The look in the human’s eyes—cold, still, unmoving—sent a chill through him.

It wasn’t a threat, nor was Piolet standing against a formidable enemy. It was a mere human. And yet, that human made Piolet take a step back instinctively. Not on purpose. His body just... reacted.

Why?

There was no threat. No power. No weapon. Just a human.

But somehow, this one felt wrong.

Still, he answered. Something made him want to answer.

”The value of life means nothing to me,” Piolet said. ”When you live above limits, beyond mortality, above consequences—nothing matters. Death is irrelevant. What matters is the reason for it.”

He paused, then added, as if giving some profound wisdom:

”Their deaths... have more value than their lives. But a human like you wouldn’t understand. You creatures are the most idiotic species in the entire galaxy.”

”....” Xavier didn’t flinch.

Didn’t blink.

Didn’t move.

Piolet finally narrowed his eyes. ”Now give me that slave before I rip your head off. Back off. Die peacefully. With a bullet. Your call.”

Kilop stepped in again, arms out.

”Please, Piolet. Stop this madness. It’s not too late. Let the children and survivors go. We will leave the Beast Land. We will disappear.”

Piolet blinked.

He paused—pretending to think.

And then—Bang!

He shot.

Kilop dodged it, just barely.

Piolet raised a brow. ”Not bad. You’re pretty fast for an old rabbit.”

He fired again. Kilop dodged again.

”Lykaios are a noble species,” Kilop said. ”They are descendants of the divine line. Treat Lyra with respect.”

Piolet laughed.

”Respect? They’re descendants of the false god. A lie dressed in fur and worship. I don’t care about lineage. I care about money.”

Bang!

He shot Lyra. The bullet pierced her thigh.

She didn’t scream—but her body twitched in pain.

”And by the way,” Piolet said, raising his gun, ”Lions are the true descendants of the gods. Not some pathetic mutts from a forgotten bloodline. But a king does! And Lions are king! They are the king of the beasts!”

He was about to say more, but—

Bang!Bang!Bang!Bang!

Bullets hit his face. Direct. One in the cheek. One in the eye. One on the forehead.

None did anything.

They bounced off like rubber pellets.

Piolet twitched.

He turned. Slowly.

Xavier was still standing, gun smoking.

”I told you to back off,” Piolet growled, walking toward him.

He grabbed Xavier by the hair and lifted him off the ground with one arm.

Xavier’s feet dangled. Blood dripped from the corner of his lip, but he still didn’t scream.

Piolet brought him close. Eye to eye.

”What did I say?” Piolet sneered. ”Back off. Or I’ll rip your fucking head off.”

Xavier didn’t speak. He just pressed the barrel of the gun to Piolet’s temple.

Bang.

Again.

And again.

Piolet didn’t even blink.

”You can’t hurt me, human. I have the power of God.”

Then—

CRACK.

His punch slammed into Xavier’s chest.

So hard... his hand burst through Xavier’s back.

And then—

Piolet tossed him aside like garbage.

Xavier’s body flew—bounced—landed on a pile of corpses and tech scrap.

His lifeless body tumbled, rolled, and then slipped from the top—falling to the dirt below.

The ground cracked beneath him as if it accepted his body willingly.

Everything went still.

For a moment... silence.

Only the crackle of flames. Distant sobs.

And then—

A sound.

No, a voice.
