Chapter 2295: Chapter 2296: Breaking Open the Great Array

However, Zi Wei and a few others soon attracted the attention of the Inland cultivators. After all, there were almost no pedestrians on the street anymore, and even if there were, it was to transport supplies for a few major factions.

”How dare you! Who are you? Why are you walking on this street without permission?” one of the cultivators from the Returner Alliance shouted loudly.

Zi Wei couldn’t be bothered to respond, simply pointing a finger, and instantly, these few cultivators turned into clouds of blood mist!

By the time other cultivators arrived, Zi Wei and her group’s figures had long disappeared.

However, these cultivators did not pay much attention. After all, after occupying Sumeru City, it was understandable for some South Territory cultivators to be angry, and there were occasional incidents of South Territory experts killing in Sumeru City.

Zi Wei led a few other Elders directly towards the edge of Sumeru City, where the Formation of the Great Array was located!

After all, Zi Wei is an indigenous person of the South Territory. When it comes to understanding this formation, there’s probably no one in the current South Territory who knows more than her.

Moreover, when this formation was initially built, she had also contributed her efforts!

Initially, only the top of Mt. Sumeru was blessed by the formation, but later, with the development of the South Territory and the need for commerce, the extension of Mt. Sumeru gradually emerged!

Gradually, Sumeru City came into being.

”Sect Master, do we really have to do this? If we do, we might become the sinners of the entire South Territory!” the Grand Elder advised.

The Sect Master smiled bitterly, ”Is our situation in the South Territory good now? No matter how bad it gets, it can’t get worse than this!”

With that, she stepped into one of the Formation Eyes.

This Formation Eye was initially presided over by Zi Wei Fairy. Coming back again, there was a faint sense of familiarity, but now, the ancestors who helped construct the formation are either fallen or have gone to other regions. Only she survived using the Lunhui Cultivation Technique.

Of course, when it was constructed back then, it was immensely challenging, as it had to withstand the invasion of the violent external Law strength.

But to destroy it would be much easier. Of course, it couldn’t be completely destroyed; only this Formation Eye needed to be damaged, making future reconstruction much simpler. Otherwise, Sumeru City would lose its significance.

”Let’s begin. Ye Luo should be arriving any moment!” the Sect Master murmured, gazing at the distant sky.

Suddenly, she performed a hand seal, and instantly, a dense Law strength surged from her body, immediately infiltrating this Formation Eye.

Rumble!

Instantly, the entire Great Array quaked violently.

Not only that, this Formation Eye suddenly exploded, and the violent Law strength invaded from outside the Formation Eye.

”Not good, retreat!”

Zi Wei Fairy shouted loudly, even she didn’t expect the Law strength to be this violent!

In an instant, she and a few Elders quickly fled!

Of course, this wasn’t entirely successful!

After all, this formation has been blessed by the mana of countless generations of experts. Even to open just one Formation Eye requires enormous strength.

If Zi Wei Fairy were in her prime, it would naturally be a breeze, but now, it required the help of the other Elders!

They stood in the formation, frantically attacking the Formation Eye!

With every spell cast, the Formation Eye fractured a little more.

”You all go first, I’ll deliver the final blow here!” Zi Wei Fairy said.

”No way, let me stay!” another Elder said.

”Sect Master, you still have to reunite with Ye Luo. Let her deliver the final blow. After all, the final strike doesn’t require much mana!”

Zi Wei pondered for a moment, then slowly nodded. She then took the Grand Elder and a few other Elders towards Mt. Sumeru.

Moments later, they heard a loud explosion abruptly echo from behind! The overwhelming Law strength instantly wrecked the Formation Eye and its surrounding Great Array, and the collapse of the Great Array, accompanied by the appearance of spatial fractures, in an instant, engulfed the Elder of the Zi Wei Sect!

In the distance, seeing this scene, Zi Wei felt a chill in her scalp. Had she stayed, she would have faced certain death!

”Make sure to settle her descendants properly later,” Zi Wei sighed.

The Grand Elder remained calm, ”To die for the Sect Master counts as a blessing!”

Without further delay, they headed directly towards Mt. Sumeru.

The formation’s damage was a severe matter for Sumeru City. The indigenous people might fare slightly better, as they have lived here for generations and naturally possess the ability to withstand the harsh environment. Even common people wouldn’t necessarily perish under the violent Law’s power!

Apparently, the Law targets only cultivators, while it seems to have no effect on those who haven’t cultivated spiritual power. To them, it merely seemed the wind in the air had picked up! By wearing more or staying indoors, they’d be fine.

Many cultivators couldn’t fathom the reason behind this.

However, the cultivators in Sumeru City indeed faced a calamity!

Initially, the Law strength that entered was extraordinarily violent, instantly tearing apart many weaker cultivators into fragments!

Instantly, chaos erupted throughout Sumeru City.

By this time, Ye Luo and his group were nearing the exit of Mt. Sumeru when suddenly several loud explosions echoed, and the clamor from Sumeru City below reached them.

What happened? Instantly, the strong ones from various factions were taken aback.

Generally speaking, even if a riot occurred in Sumeru City, it wouldn’t cause such a huge commotion!

”Full speed ahead, any Inland cultivators we encounter, no matter who they are, kill them without mercy!” Ye Luo shouted angrily and took to the air.

”Elder Ye, the situation is unclear. If we act rashly!” a Sect strongman barely uttered before being slapped to death by Ye Luo!

”I told you, just follow my orders. Didn’t your Sect warn you before you came? You must unconditionally obey me here. Otherwise, even if I kill you, your Sect won’t seek justice for you!” Ye Luo’s voice echoed continuously in the minds of these cultivators.

Though this was somewhat hard to accept, it was indeed the truth. The Sect actually did specifically instruct this before sending them out, but they didn’t take it to heart.
