The Female Lead Decides to Act Wickedly

Chapter 875: Chapter 341: Screw Your Beautiful Tragic Hero (Part 12)_3

Hiss!

So cool!

He Xiaobao shivered instinctively.

But soon, he finally realized he wasn’t dreaming!

”Finally awake now, huh?”

Ms. Hetian spoke with a double meaning but didn’t expose He Xiaobao, instead, she continued guiding him off the cart, ”Come on, let’s eat and then head to the mountains to dig wild vegetables, gather mushrooms, and get some game.”

On the road of fleeing famine, it was rare to encounter a forest that still had some vitality, so Ms. Hetian had to stock up on some supplies.

Moreover, she wanted to impart some skills to her son through words and deeds.

Such as how to survive in the wild, and some martial arts for fitness and defense.

Besides these, Ms. Hetian also wanted to avoid that group next door.

She really didn’t want to have any more dealings with the Tian Family.

But, as long as they met, once the Tian Family ran out of food or encountered any trouble, Ms. Hetian, as a daughter of the Tian Family, couldn’t completely stand apart.

Ms. Hetian didn’t care what others said, but she had to consider her son.

Also, Ms. Hetian wanted some time for recuperation, to properly nurse her own body and her son’s health.

Especially herself, since she had established a foundation long ago; if she didn’t nurse well, even with infinite strength, it would be very difficult to live well until her son got married and started a career.

She didn’t want to die so early; firstly, to compensate her son, and secondly, to support her son.

Ms. Hetian hadn’t forgotten that Qiu Zhaodi had mentioned ”father’s favoritism” when talking to herself.

Ms. Hetian indeed owed He Erniu, but He Xiaobao was innocent.

He shouldn’t be treated differently by his father.

And as long as Ms. Hetian was alive and stayed beside He Xiaobao, she wouldn’t let her son suffer injustice!

”Yes, yes, I’ll go with mom to dig wild vegetables and gather mushrooms!”

He Xiaobao, upon hearing he could help his mom, instantly got energetic, eating breakfast diligently and nodding vigorously.

”No rush! Let’s find a resting place first.”

Ms. Hetian wanted to stay in this forest for a while, so she couldn’t sleep in the donkey cart every day.

Ms. Hetian planned to find a cave, where food, Copper Coin, and such could be temporarily stored in the Space in her mind.

The donkey would be led nearby, while the cart frame and shed would be stored in the cave.

Ms. Hetian had already planned all this while meditating last night.

With daylight and the child awake, mother and son finished breakfast, packed their luggage, and began searching around.

Ms. Hetian found the tallest tree nearby and nimble climbed up, standing on a branch to gaze far.

She saw the forest where they had stayed before, noticing that several households had started to become busy.

Since they had stayed in this forest for three or four days, resting adequately and gathering quite a few wild vegetables and mushrooms, Scholar Tian’s family, leading the group, planned to set off.

The other households perhaps had their own plans, but they trusted Scholar Tian more, so they decided to follow along.

Mr. Tian was pretty eager; he wasn’t hasty to travel but wanted to quickly find Ms. Hetian, who had left with a donkey cart in the middle of the night.

Ms. Hetian:...

Seeing from above several families busying themselves in the distant forest, Ms. Hetian paid no more attention.

Destined to part ways, she would treat the Tian Family as strangers henceforth.

Instead of wasting time focusing on those strangers, it would be better to quickly find a resting place.

She stood on the tree branch, gazed far, and indeed found a nice cave.

She roughly estimated the distance, then jumped down from the tree.

With the donkey cart, her son in tow, and stopping to dig some wild vegetables and gather firewood along the way, she reached the cave before the sun was directly overhead.

Ms. Hetian didn’t rush into the cave to check it out, instead tossing some firewood into the cave and setting it on fire.

The cave caught fire, with a scalp-tingling hissing sound coming shortly after. Ms. Hetian then saw some scorpions, crawling creatures, centipedes, snakes, and other wildlife scurrying out of the cave, quickly disappearing into the grass.

He Xiaobao was startled, and Ms. Hetian also felt a sense of lingering fear: Luckily, she didn’t dash in recklessly! Getting scared by insects and snakes would be a minor issue; getting bitten and poisoned would be life-threatening!

The fire lasted for quite a while, turning the cave walls red-hot, and the grass and trees at the entrance to ashes.

Ms. Hetian collected the ashes, then waited for the cave to cool down before walking inside.

Burning the cave not only drove away snakes and insects but also helped sterilize and disinfect.

Ms. Hetian cleaned out ashes and any charred bones or garbage, then stored the supplies from the donkey cart in the cave, and dismantled the cart frame.

A simple lunch was had at noon, and Ms. Hetian went around cutting some branches, tying them into a fence door.

He Xiaobao helped by passing things, tending the fire, and boiling water.

Mother and son worked until dusk and finally had a decent little home.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest, midday, several families dawdled and finally prepared to hit the road again.

Qiu Zhaodi ran out from the forest in a panic, following the group amid curses from her grandmother and father...
