My Silly, Sweet Wife

”Mr. Ye, why didn’t you just kill that old bastard Leng Bosun? Why keep him around?” Shang Wen Dong couldn’t help but ask as they walked out of the hospital.

Ye Guichen explained, ”Killing someone is easy, but it’s not easy to use someone. Leng Bosun is my touchstone for Wang Tianxing. How could I let him die so easily?”

Shang Wen Dong was even more puzzled, ”A touchstone?”

”Yes.” Ye Guichen nodded. ”Since I want to make Wang Tianxing my puppet, I naturally have to see if he’s qualified to be one. Heh, if he can’t even handle Leng Bosun, then he has no value at all.”

Shang Wen Dong suddenly understood but was still a bit confused, ”Wang Tianxing is just a kid, why don’t you become the chairman yourself? Why push him to the stage?”

Ye Guichen patted Shang Wen Dong on the shoulder, ”You don’t get it. Wang Tianxing’s identity is the most useful. He can help me win over some of the old members of the Azure Dragon Commerce and also shield me from some trouble.”

At this point, Ye Guichen squinted his eyes, ”Now that even a figure like King Qin, whom we’ve never heard of before, is involved, the world is probably more complicated than we imagined. If something real happens, at least Wang Tianxing will take the hit, sparing me from being caught off guard.”

Shang Wen Dong took a deep breath, his eyes filled with undisguised admiration, ”Mr. Ye, you think so thoroughly, always three steps ahead.”

”Stop flattering me.” Ye Guichen laughed and cursed, getting into the car, ”Let’s go. We’ll head to the martial arts hall first. Once the martial arts hall and the Chinese medicine hall are up and running, I’ll have time to play with the Azure Dragon Commerce.”

Leng Bosun’s face was grim as he walked into the hospital room.

Seeing the bodies of two beautiful women on the floor and Wang Tianxing trembling in the corner, Leng Bosun raised an eyebrow.

”Chairman Tianxing, are you alright?”

Leng Bosun had thought Wang Tianxing would be furious upon knowing he was being used, but to his surprise, he looked scared, with a fake but genuine concern on his face.

Even though the concern was fake, under such circumstances, it couldn’t be more real.

”Secretary Leng, you’re finally here. Look at these two dead women. Ye Guichen not only forced me to kill them but also said you are using me to take over my father’s Azure Dragon Commerce. Is it true?” Wang Tianxing’s voice trembled like a frightened deer.

Wang Tianxing looked at Leng Bosun with an eager expression, hoping that Leng wouldn’t admit it.

A smile that couldn’t be hidden appeared on Leng Bosun’s lips. He also let out a sigh of relief, helping Wang Tianxing up and to the bed. After settling him, he consoled him, ”Chairman Tianxing, if what that Ye kid said is true, what would you do?”

”Don’t kill me, Secretary Leng. No matter what Ye Guichen said, I’ll cooperate with you. You know, I’m very happy with my current life. Unlike before, no one manages me now. I can do whatever I want. You treat me better than my father did.”

”Secretary Leng, as long as you don’t change my life, I’ll do whatever you ask. I won’t say a word against you.”

Leng Bosun smiled, lightly patting Wang Tianxing’s hand, ”Chairman Tianxing, why would I harm you? You’re just recovering now. The Azure Dragon Commerce belongs to your Wang family. As long as you trust me, I’ll manage it for you. Otherwise, I’ll leave Qinghe Prefecture and never return to Jinling.”

Tears welled up in Wang Tianxing’s eyes, ”Secretary Leng, is everything you said true?”

”Of course, it’s true.” Leng Bosun pointed to his heart, looking serious, ”I’ve never been more genuine with you.”

Wang Tianxing broke into a smile through his tears, ”Secretary Leng, my father always said you were the most loyal among the seven secretaries. I didn’t believe it before, but now I see my father was wise. Once I get out of the hospital, I’ll announce to everyone in the Azure Dragon Commerce that you are the first vice-chairman.”

”Chairman Tianxing, I...”

”Secretary Leng, don’t say anything more. I’ve decided.” Wang Tianxing said with a frown, ”Secretary Leng, Ye Guichen is clearly trying to divide us. If we don’t get rid of him, who knows what else he might do? Do you have any other ideas?”

Leng Bosun frowned, ”That kid must die. But he’s like a cat with nine lives. However, now that it’s out in the open, there’s no need to hide. I’ll visit the Martial Arts Association and the Chinese Medicine Association, and look for Zuo Chunqiu and Fang Wushang. I don’t believe we can’t kill Ye Guichen together!”

Wang Tianxing clapped his hands, ”Secretary Leng, that’s a great move. That Ye kid is surely dead.”

While saying this, Wang Tianxing lowered his head, a flash of malice in his eyes unnoticed by others.

”Old fox, just wait...”

...

Upon returning to the martial arts hall, Ye Guichen saw that Mai Gu had already found people to begin renovating.

Feeling idle, Ye Guichen wandered around.

But after half a day, he noticed that Fang Yu and Liu Xinyi were nowhere to be seen.

Since he had bought the Nandu Martial Arts Association, the original members were all given a break.

Ye Guichen had also said that anyone willing to stay could return once the Tianhe Martial Arts Hall opened, and those who didn’t want to stay were free to leave.

However, Ye Guichen had specifically kept Liu Xinyi.

After all, he had intended for Liu Xinyi to be a guide.

Liu Xinyi had a good impression of Ye Guichen and, being new in town, found it hard to find a new job, so she agreed to help with the renovations.

By this time, Liu Xinyi should have been there.

As for Fang Yu, he was even more enthusiastic.

Since the renovations began, Fang Yu hadn’t left for a moment, so why wasn’t he there?

”Master Mai, have you seen Liu Xinyi and Fang Yu?” Ye Guichen asked as he approached Mai Gu who was directing people in renovating the Chinese medicine hall.

Mai Gu responded casually, ”I saw them about an hour ago. Liu Xinyi got a call and left saying she had something to do. Fang Yu, suspecting Liu was Lv Liang’s spy, quietly followed her. Why, you looking for them?”

Ye Guichen shook his head, ”Oh, just asking.”

Though he didn’t say it, his mind was racing.

Apart from Lv Liang, Liu Xinyi had no friends or relatives in Jinling. Who would be calling her?

Could Liu Xinyi really be Lv Liang’s spy?
