My Silly, Sweet Wife

”What?” Feng Wuji’s mouth hung open, still holding a rag that nearly ended up in his mouth at Ye Guichen’s words. ”Benefactor, are you serious?”

”Why would I lie to you?”

”But, why call you Grandmaster? Why not Master?”

Ye Guichen shrugged. ”I don’t plan on taking any disciples right now. Even if Dragon Teeth’s leader came and called me Master, I wouldn’t agree. So, why should I take on a disciple? I’d rather take on a disciple’s grand-disciple directly.”

”Pfft!” Su Jiu’er, who just took a sip of water, spat it out immediately.

This was too much!

This was pure provocation!

”What did you say? Even our leader isn’t qualified to be your disciple? Such arrogance! Don’t think that just because you know some minor cultivation techniques you can boast. How could you possibly know our leader’s skills?”

Dragon Teeth’s Red Dragon, Duan Nanye, was Su Jiu’er’s idol.

Now that her idol was being trampled, how could she not be furious?

Su Ze was also in disbelief.

He never expected Ye Guichen to speak so outrageously.

But he knew arguing now was pointless.

”Jiu’er, sit down,” Su Ze said calmly, looking up at Ye Guichen. ”Do you know how poor Feng Wuji’s talent is? Heh, forget a month, if you can make him qualified to join Dragon Teeth in a year, or even ten years, I’d swallow this table whole.”

”Oh?” Ye Guichen smiled at Su Ze. ”Are you sure?”

”Of course,” Su Ze said challengingly. ”You speak so arrogantly, but I’m afraid you have no idea about Dragon Teeth’s standards or how strong our leader is. If our leader stood before you now, you’d probably wet your pants.”

”Really...” Ye Guichen rubbed his chin thoughtfully. ”Hmm, it seems Duan Nanye really impresses you. How about this, in three days, I’ll have Feng Wuji defeat Su Jiu’er, barehanded.”

While speaking, Ye Guichen pointed at Su Jiu’er.

”What?”

Feng Wuji was flabbergasted.

He dreamed of defeating Su Jiu’er.

But three days? Impossible!

Even Feng Wuji didn’t believe it. Su Jiu’er also felt insulted. ”You, you think you can bully us? Have this loser defeat me? In three days? Humph! I could crush him with one finger!”

”Yeah, Grandmaster, can we be more realistic?” Feng Wuji said, looking dejected. It was clear he didn’t believe it himself.

Seeing Feng Wuji’s cowardice, Ye Guichen was speechless. ”Can you have some guts? If word gets out that you’re my grand-disciple and you can’t even beat a girl, it’s so embarrassing.”

”But, but it’s impossible,” Feng Wuji muttered. ”Benefactor, you probably don’t know how terrifying that girl Su Jiu’er is. The first time I saw her, I made a couple of flirtatious remarks seeing how pretty she was, and she broke three of my ribs. I was bedridden for three months.”

Feng Wuji was very apprehensive of Su Jiu’er.

Seeing his fear, Su Jiu’er taunted, ”Ye, you’re bluffing! Fine, I’ll bet you. If you can make that loser beat me in three days, my brother and I will leave. If not, you come with us. Deal?”

Su Ze’s eyes lit up. ”Sounds good, Jiu’er. How about it, dare to bet?”

”Bet, bet my foot!” Feng Wuji jumped up. ”We won’t bet! Why should we bet with you?”

Ye Guichen chuckled. ”Why not? Let’s bet! But...”

Ye Guichen squinted, eyeing Su Ze and Su Jiu’er. ”Your stakes are too weak. If Feng Wuji wins, you work in this restaurant for three months. Deal?”

”What? Work here? You’re dreaming!” Su Jiu’er almost jumped up.

”Heh, then no bet,” Ye Guichen said nonchalantly.

Su Jiu’er was immediately dissatisfied.

This was a sure-win, and it would be troublesome to find another opportunity if Ye Guichen backed out.

”No, I’m in!” Su Jiu’er said, standing tall. ”But can you keep your word?”

”Of course!” Ye Guichen nodded, pointing at Chu Tiange nearby. ”Look, isn’t the big star here? She can be our witness.”

Spit!

Su Ze spat out water again.

What kind of monster is this Ye Guichen?

He even called over a top star.

Though Chu Tiange wasn’t part of Dragon Teeth, she interacted with high society regularly and knew about their matters.

So after a brief thought, Su Ze nodded. ”Fine, I trust Miss Chu Chu. It’s settled.”

He smiled at Chu Tiange. ”Miss Chu Chu, is that alright?”

”No problem,” Chu Tiange agreed, not fully understanding the stakes but willing to comply with Ye Guichen’s request.

”Great, since it’s settled, hurry up and leave! Don’t disturb our business!” Ye Guichen didn’t hold back, giving a direct order.

Su Ze’s face turned blue and purple but didn’t argue. Three days later, he could capture Ye Guichen and humiliate him then.

With Chu Tiange present, the restaurant’s business surged.

By ten that night, the crowd began to thin out.

Seizing an opportunity, Zhao Erdan pulled Ye Guichen aside, giving him a thumbs up excitedly. ”Boss, you’re amazing! Chu Tiange wants to endorse our restaurant. I can’t believe it! Do you know today’s business was booming just because she stood at the door? We probably made tens of thousands.”

Ye Guichen rolled his eyes. ”This is just the start, work hard.”

”Got it,” Zhao Erdan said, casting a sly glance at Chu Tiange. ”Boss, Chu Tiange asked my wife if she could stay here. She’s a big star, I didn’t dare agree without asking you.”

”Why ask me?”

”Uh, aren’t you and Chu Tiange...” Zhao Erdan’s suggestive gestures made it clear what he implied.

Ye Guichen’s face showed sudden realization.

No wonder people looked at him so ambiguously today.

They must have thought Chu Tiange was his woman.

Not good if Chen Ziran finds out.

”You’re spouting nonsense!” Ye Guichen lied quickly. ”You don’t know anything. Feng Wuji is a big shot from Yanjing and likes Chu Tiange. She came to the restaurant because of him, understand?”

”Really?” Zhao Erdan was doubtful. ”Boss, but I saw Feng Wuji acting like a grandson in front of you. Is he really a big shot from Yanjing?”

”Stop wasting time and get to work!” Ye Guichen patted Zhao Erdan’s shoulder, beckoning Feng Wuji. ”Come, we’re starting training tonight!”

This restaurant had three floors; the top floor was for living.

The opposite Imperial Medical Restaurant tried to merge with Jixiang Restaurant, so accommodation was no issue.

After instructing Zhao Erdan, he arranged the best room for Ye Guichen.

Feng Wuji eagerly followed.

Chu Tiange stood a short distance away, hesitant to speak.

Noticing her, Ye Guichen stopped. ”What’s the matter?”

”Mr. Ye, I have an endorsement shoot with Chen Group soon, but I don’t like staying in hotels. Can I stay here?” Chu Tiange seemed afraid of being rejected. ”I’ve sent Sister Feng back to the hotel. I won’t disturb you. I just feel it’s lively and comfortable here. No other reason.”

Ye Guichen scratched his nose, nodded. ”Up to you.”

”Thank you, Mr. Ye.” Chu Tiange blushed, looking more attractive, making Feng Wuji envious.

Inside the room, Feng Wuji grinned. ”Grandmaster, you’re amazing! How’d you win over Chu Tiange? She seems very respectful to you.”
