Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

”Are you really Han Ruochen?” Old Master Xu confirmed again. He couldn’t be blamed because he still hadn’t forgotten how furious Zhai Muchen had been the last time. If this woman were truly Han Ruochen, then there was a good chance that Zhai Muchen would not let the matter slide. The last time he was so angry that Zhai Muchen stopped coming over, and if not for him wanting Han Ruochen to become his disciple, Zhai Muchen would not have come looking for him.

Now he had offended Han Ruochen once again; if Zhai Muchen found out the truth, then that man would definitely make a fuss. Old Master Xu started to sweat heavily. But of course, he could not admit that he had done something wrong. He pursed his lips and wiped his sweat before saying to her, ”Fine, if you are really Han Ruochen, then you can come with me. Follow me into the house; if Zhai Muchen wants to look for you, he will be able to find you.”

”Are you sure?”

”Of course I am sure. Young lady, do I look like someone who is unreliable?” If he was sure about his own territory, then who else would be sure?

”Hehehe.” Han Ruochen could only laugh it off. From what she had seen till now, she hated to admit that Old Master Xu was indeed quite an unreliable person.

Of course, she could not tell the truth to Old Master Xu lest he start to feel embarrassed and disgraced.

Old Master Xu’s expression changed. He was truly frustrated. Why did he disgrace himself in front of this young lady?

”Are you following me or not?” he did not want to look like a loser in front of the young lady. He straightened his back and then marched inside the house with his head held high. He did not wait for Han Ruochen to follow him and simply strode right inside the mansion.

Initially, Han Ruochen did not want to follow the unreliable old man, but then she recalled what Zhai Muchen had told her. He had asked her to look smart, or else she would leave a poor impression on the person he brought her to meet. She looked down at her clothes that were sticking to her body and sighed. Honestly, if she had known that this would happen, she would not have helped the old man.

She could only follow Old Master Xu inside the mansion.

The house looked just as magnificent and beautiful as it did from outside. The floors were covered with ceramic parquet tiles; their patterns looked lovely and really exquisite. There were chandeliers that were mounted on the ceilings, and when they sparkled and glittered like ice crystals, these chandeliers looked even prettier.

”Take it. Don’t worry, this towel is new, and the restroom is over there.” Old Master Xu handed the towel to Han Ruochen. He pointed to the corner of the room but then paused and asked, ”Will you be fine on your own? Should I get someone to show you around?” Old Master Xu had furnished his house with uncommon furniture and facilities. In comparison to the modern amenities that Old Master Xu had in his house, Han Ruochen looked rather uncouth and countrified.

He was worried that the woman would be unable to use the modern appliances inside his bathroom.

”....”

Han Ruochen shot him a look of disdain. Was he looking down at her? She might have been locked up by Han Ziyan; she still came from the 21st century. Whatever gadgets that Old Master Xu had, she knew how to use them. ”Thank you for your concern. I will be fine with just a little exploring. It shouldn’t be a big problem.”

She did not want the servants looking down at her as well.

Han Ruochen went to the restroom, and after checking the windows and the doors, she started to wash her face with water. Though she was able to wipe her face, there was nothing she could do about her clothes. She looked down at her shirt that was sticking to her body and sighed heavily. If she had known that she would run into such a weird old master, she would have brought a change of clothes with her.

At least then she wouldn’t be in such an embarrassing situation.

Han Ruochen had no choice but to wipe her dress with the towel that the old master had given her.

”Little girl, are you done?” Seeing that Han Ruochen had been in the restroom for a long time, Old Master Xu came to look for her. Did she slip inside the restroom or something?

”Almost done.” Han Ruochen shouted back. She checked herself in the mirror and sighed harshly; her dress was still wet. Her shoulders dropped in surrender. It seemed like there was nothing that could be done.

When Han Ruochen came out of the restroom, Old Master Xu felt a bit awkward. There were no women in his family, especially around Han Ruochen’s age. Old Master Xu noticed that Han Ruochen’s dress was sticking close to her body and felt a bit nervous. But there was nothing he could do; after all, there were no clothes that he could give her. Old Master Xu felt awkward when he thought about how he could do anything to help Han Ruochen.

”We do not have any young lady around your age in our family, and I don’t think it will be suitable for you to wear the clothes of a man either. I have to admit that I did not think things through.”

”It’s not a big problem.” Though it was a big one, Han Ruochen did not want the old man to feel awkward. She helped him of her own accord; she couldn’t possibly make the old man feel guilty over something this small.

”Young lady, you should think twice before rejecting. I am not being pompous, but you should always leave yourself a way out. Do you doubt an old man like me can ever help you?” Old Master Xu felt like he was being looked down on and did not like it in the least. No matter how old he might have become, he was no less influential than he was in the past.
