Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder

Chapter 60: Chapter 60: A Little Lesson

They were shamelessly discussing the dead soldiers in the mess hall, showing disdain for all the heroes who had died for the people.

They felt that these dead soldiers, by taking millions in compensation, were using up the First Corps’ military funds.

It had also reduced their own stipends, and even the budget for food and clothing had become much tighter.

”What are you laughing at?” Aidan asked from the side. ”They were heroes. Are you mocking them?”

Aidan’s eyes were bloodshot, his rims red. A hostile aura emanated from him.

Aidan looked furious. He stared daggers at the five of them, as if he would charge over and beat the bastards senseless the moment they confirmed it.

Lin Jingjing, standing beside him, glanced at him before saying, ”No. I just find it ironic.”

”Ironic how!” Aidan growled.

”Some soldiers in the First Corps resent the fact that the fallen warriors are using up the military funds,” Lin Jingjing replied.

”They discuss it brazenly in the mess hall, complaining and showing a terrible attitude toward the heroes.”

Hearing Lin Jingjing’s words, Aidan’s mouth hung open, momentarily at a loss for words.

Afraid he might misunderstand, Lin Jingjing added, ”It’s just a small group of them. I’m not generalizing.”

The vast majority were still good people; they just don’t speak up.

To them, the dead are simply the weak.

’If they were strong, how could they possibly have died on the battlefield?’

After she spoke, Lin Jingjing fell silent. Once their superiors finished the handover, they were dismissed.

The wounded soldiers were sent to the infirmary, while the uninjured were dismissed.

The five of them returned to their dorms to grab clothes and went to shower, caked in a mixture of sweat and blood.

The smell coming off Lin Jingjing and her group was foul. As they entered the showers, the people inside wrinkled their noses.

”Who’s that? Did someone fall into a cesspit? It stinks to high heaven!”

”The stench is unbearable.”

”Fuck—which idiot ate shit!”

The men’s and women’s bathhouses were on the left and right respectively, separated by a stone brick wall.

The complaints, coming from both men and women, were filled with utter disgust.

Lin Jingjing was already exhausted and just wanted to shower quickly and get some rest.

Hearing their disgusted complaints, she frowned slightly. A girl nearby, pinching her nose, said with extreme disdain, ”Get lost. You stink.”

Lin Jingjing took in the girl’s disgusted and cruel expression, and her own patience snapped.

”What are you squawking about!” Lin Jingjing roared. ”Think you’re so clean? You’re the one who doesn’t have to go to the front lines! Someone like you would die on the battlefield without even knowing how!”

Lin Jingjing was no saint, and she wasn’t about to endure being treated with such disdain.

She had only endured it before because she wasn’t strong enough. Now, even if her strength was still lacking, Lin Jingjing was going to make damn sure these people knew she was not to be trifled with.

Feng He, who had just entered, flinched when she heard Lin Jingjing’s roar. She watched Lin Jingjing cautiously, terrified of becoming the target of her anger.

The girl who had been yelled at grew furious. She turned to stare straight at Lin Jingjing. Upon sensing that her spiritual power was only Grade D, the girl sneered. ”What right does a piece of Grade D trash have to shout at me?”

”Kneel and apologize to me right now, and I might choose to forgive you.”

The girl held her head so high, looking down her nose so much she probably couldn’t even see her own feet.

Her condescending attitude infuriated Lin Jingjing. She might have tolerated it in the past, but now? ’Endure this?’

’If I put up with this, I’m no better than a dog!’

’Even if it means a trip to the disciplinary room, I have to teach this person a lesson.’

”Still not kneeling?” the girl pressed. A few other girls in the bathhouse came over to watch the show.

These people were all gawkers who loved to stir up trouble, and they started chanting, ”Kneel! Apologize!”

”Apologize, you piece of trash!”

”If she doesn’t apologize, beat her to a pulp!”

”Beat her until she’s on her knees, begging you to let her go!”

In the Empire, the strong always preyed on the weak. The girl’s spiritual power was Grade B, so all the other girls in the bathhouse naturally sided with her.

Emboldened by the support, the girl grew even more smug. She jabbed a finger toward Lin Jingjing’s face and said viciously, ”I want you to kneel down, lick my shoes, and then beg for my forgiveness like a dog.”

The killing intent radiating from Lin Jingjing intensified. Feng He quietly shuffled a few steps back, hoping to avoid being caught in the crossfire.

She could feel it—the murderous aura around Lin Jingjing was growing stronger.

Lin Jingjing stood there in silence, her eyes locked on the girl.

She was gripping the iron basin in her hand so tightly that the metal began to deform.

”Kneel and apologize to you?” Lin Jingjing murmured, repeating the words softly.

The girl laughed boisterously. ”That’s right!”

”That’s how trash is supposed to apologize.”

Hearing the girl’s grating laughter, Lin Jingjing took two steps forward, seized her wrist, and executed a perfect shoulder throw.

After slamming the girl onto the floor, Lin Jingjing mounted her and rained down punch after punch.

In her fury, her spiritual power erupted chaotically, indiscriminately lashing out at every other girl in the bathhouse.

”Apologize!”

”Do you accept my apology?!”

Lin Jingjing punctuated each word with a vicious punch to the girl’s face. The girl tried to fight back, but she found herself pinned firmly to the ground, unable to budge.

She couldn’t believe it. How could this Grade D piece of trash possibly have the strength to overpower her?

But the searing pain in her face was undeniable proof that Lin Jingjing had.

The girl’s hand shot up and caught Lin Jingjing’s wrist, stopping a descending fist. ”How is this possible!” she shrieked.

”You’re trash! How can you have this much strength?!”

”How do you even have spiritual power?!”

Lin Jingjing used her free hand to grab the girl’s arm and break it.

The pain was too much, and the girl let out a piercing scream.

”There’s a lot you don’t know,” Lin Jingjing replied coldly, raising her fist to continue her assault.

A person with Grade B spiritual power would have an exceptionally strong constitution.

Taking a few punches should have been no problem for her.

THUD, THUD, THUD—

The sound of fist after fist colliding with flesh rang clearly in everyone’s ears.

They were all under assault from Lin Jingjing’s spiritual power, left to stand there clutching their heads, faces contorted in pain.

Their heads hurt so badly they felt like they wanted to chop them off.

All the while, the sickening sound of punches landing one after another filled their ears. They could only watch helplessly as their companion was pummeled.

Feng He, hiding off to the side, saw that Lin Jingjing showed no signs of stopping.

’Even if a Grade B Spiritual Ability User has a great physique,’ she thought, ’they can’t withstand this kind of relentless punching combined with a spiritual power assault.’

Seeing this, Feng He rushed forward, grabbed Lin Jingjing’s arm, and said, ”Sister Lin, that’s enough.”

”Calm down! It’s not worth it if you kill her.”

”You’ve taught her a lesson. That’s enough.”
