The Golem Mage

The three Noble mages who had successfully reached the sixth level of the tower finally emerged to find a huge crowd waiting outside.

They wore smug expressions, believing that everyone was there to cheer and praise them for their achievements.

The young master of the Wave Clan glanced at the other two Noble mages beside him, scoffing.

”Can you all see this? These are just the effects I can cause by participating in the tower test, This era will belong to me, Lear of the Wave Clan, as I will never rest until I become the strongest among the rookies that took this test together.”

He declared this with fierce determination in his eyes while looking at both of them, The lady beside him was initially stunned, but when she saw him winking from the side of his eyes , she quickly realized what he was playing at.

The Wave Clan always sought face and recognition, so she decided to go along with it instead of ignoring him.

Feeling that there was no reason to hold back, she played along and responded

”What are you acting so high and mighty for, Lear? You have no right to talk to us like that, especially since we all reached the sixth stage together!”

The lady fanned the flames of their argument, hoping to gather attention from those outside, She believed that people talking about them would enhance their reputation in front of the great Instructor and make their profiles look even better.

Unfortunately, their anticipation turned awkward when no one looked their way or approached them with congratulations, the lady felt embarrassed, wishing the ground would swallow her and Lear.

However, the third person who came out with them quickly understood the situation.

Realizing that they were being ignored because someone inside had outperformed them, he distanced himself from the attention-seeking duo, not wanting to be associated with them.

His actions indirectly conveyed, ”I don’t know them,” even though he was acquainted with both of them.

As Lear gritted his teeth in anger, some of his clansmen who had exited the tower before him approached and whispered in his ear.

The look on Lear’s face shifted from shock to envy, then anger, he swiftly pushed his way through the gathering crowd, determined to see the names that were still light up on the floating screen.

Upon seeing the number of people still remaining and not yet disqualified, he realized they were ahead of him.

The realization only fueled his frustration as he wondered how so many geniuses had managed to reach the seventh level of the tower, he had struggled to survive even a few extra minutes on the sixth level before being eliminated.

Frustrated and seething with anger, Lear couldn’t help but wonder why so many members of the Gordons clan were among the remaining participants.

He vaguely recalled hearing others make fun of the clan’s younger generation, but now it seemed there was more to them than met the eye.

”Did something happen in the Gordons clan that none of us know about?” one bystander asked.

The young mage, who overheard the conversation, sneered.

”Of course! Only those close to Estonia City have heard the news, The younger generation of the Gordons clan is incredibly compatible with the War God Mage Academy, They excel in combat and have an impressive war record.”

He went on to explain that despite the Gordons clan’s ranking as a Mid Tier Clan, their younger generation was responsible for the deaths of tens of thousands of creatures in just two Blood Moon wars.

Rumor had it that every genius of the Gordons clan, accompanying the main heir, possessed insane levels of power and was unrestrained.

Listening to the discussion, Lear’s frown deepened, While most of the mages nearby believed the stories to be exaggerated, Lear’s own clan had received news of a clan from the far south whose younger generations slaughtered an entire army of second-dimensional creatures that were inthe same realm as them.

His father had warned him that there was often a grain of truth in every exaggeration.

His gaze returned to the board displaying the remaining participants, and a shiver ran down his spine, Eight people were still inside the tower, and it was said that one had even reached the eighth level.

The most unsettling revelation, however, was that among the eight, five were from the Gordons clan, This alone painted a vivid picture of the Gordons clan’s prowess—one not to be taken lightly.

Suddenly, Lear’s misplaced pride and underestimation of the Gordons clan evaporated, Though he continued to hope that the one who reached the eighth level wasn’t from the Gordons clan, deep down, he knew the probability was high. The realization hit him hard, causing his face to drain of color.

Lear could accept being surpassed by the remaining three individuals, as he knew they all came from reputable backgrounds far from his region However the fact that the Gordons clan, who were ranked as a Mid Tier Clan, has taken the spotlight from him infuriates him.

He secretly plans to use underhanded schemes to trouble them, desperately hoping that the person who reached the eighth level is not from the Gordons clan.

Though the probability is high, Lear clings to his stubborn pride, still underestimating the capabilities of the Gordons clan in the back of his mind, He reassures himself by believing that they can only reach the seventh level.

He continues to struggle, even patting himself on the back for giving them such a high evaluation.

However, Lear’s eyes lose colour in an instant when the eighth level of the tower flashes with two more bright-colored lights, His face pales, realizing that the probability of someone from the Gordons clan entering the eighth level has now become even higher than before.

”How... how can they have mages of such caliber? They only come from a Tier 3 city, where even resources are hard to come by, as they have to be exchanged for battle merits, So, how can they be stronger than someone like me, who has had everything since birth? I can’t accept this, I refuse to accept such a fate,” Lear mumbled to himself, close to collapsing in defeat.

The lady who had been playing along with him finally caught up and seemed to have a similar understanding of what was happening, However, when the two flashes of light appeared in the Eight level of the Fighting Pavilion Tower , she went pale in an instant.

While Lear and the lady felt defeated and envious, the various mage instructors couldn’t contain their excitement, They could no longer stay seated in their chairs, and even the mana pressure started to clash as they all seemed to be restraining themselves.

With so many geniuses who had reached the eighth level of the Fighting Pavilion Tower, they felt they should be able to recruit one of them.

This was a dream they had never dared to dream before, but today’s occasion seemed to make an exception as they felt the academy’s Dean might let them just teach a monstrous genuis. ”
