Cultivation Begins with Daily Intelligence Reports

11: Making homemade bombsIn the shadow of the small hill, Lin Jingyu breathed as lightly and slowly as possible, fearing to disturb the wind in the forest.

Spread out before him was an oilcloth stained with mud, piled with several ”treasures” he had scrounged from the shantytown.

A bag of bright red, finely ground red charcoal powder; a bag of grayish-white, cool and damp water-sinking stone powder; and a bag of white sugar.

Also, hundreds of needle-sized, incredibly sharp iron shards, iron nails... a bag of poison powder claimed to be able to take down a Yao Beast, and a bag of extremely spicy First-Grade Medium Grade chili powder...

There were also over a dozen fist-sized small bottles made of iron, stone, and porcelain.

And a dozen Low Grade Fire Explosion Talismans to serve as fuses.

A small bag of Extreme Fire Stones to expand the explosion range.

”These are all good things.”

Lin Jingyu chuckled and began to mix the medicinal powders according to the proportions.

Then he shook the various powders until they were evenly mixed.

He poured some into the small bottles, added the iron shards, Extreme Fire Stones, and poison powder, then poured more powder inside.

Finally, he inserted a Fire Explosion Talisman into the bottle mouth, sealed it with mud, and packed it tight.

A simple version of a grenade was finished.

After multiple modifications and supported by Materials from the cultivation world, he felt the power would definitely not be small.

He then followed the same method to fill the other bottles, remembering in his heart which ones contained poison powder and which ones contained chili powder.

The remaining raw Materials were stuffed into a hole he had dug in a nearby rock.

Looking at these unremarkable, even slightly ugly bottles before him.

Lin Jingyu pulled a grin mixed with tension and madness on his face: ”Old dog! And those bastards from the Black Wind Stockade! Taste this ’gift package’ specially made by your young master!”

”It’s a pity that all the knowledge I learned when I was studying was returned to the teacher. Otherwise, if I could make a few tons of high-explosive, let alone a mere Qi Refining Cultivator, even a Foundation Establishment Cultivator without protective treasures would probably find it hard to resist.”

Although he had made full preparations, after the initial excitement passed.

Anxiety began to well up in his heart.

This wasn’t playing house; he didn’t know how much of a threat these homemade grenades would pose to Cultivators.

What if they didn’t work at all?

Facing several Qi Refining Middle Stage Cultivators.

If he went up there, he would just be serving himself on a platter; he would absolutely die without a whole corpse.

Lin Jingyu bit his lip hard, the sharp pain entering his mind and dispelling the fear.

If I die, that’s it; if I don’t, I’ll live forever.

No guts, no glory, go get them!

He couldn’t retreat this time. After the Third Elder and the people from the Black Wind Stockade intercepted and killed the Fat Sheep, they would definitely turn their sights on him and Lin Jingxia.

The Third Elder couldn’t make a move due to his status, but the people from the Black Wind Stockade had no such scruples.

He had to make their plan collapse and force them to retreat in defeat.

Lin Jingyu lay on the ground, trying his best to hide his figure, and pushed aside the waist-high bushes in front of him, revealing only his eyes, like a lurking leopard, staring fixedly at the bare clearing on top of the small hill.

Time seemed to be stuck with glue, moving extremely slowly. The sun sank bit by bit toward the western mountains, stretching the shadows in the forest long. The hour of You was drawing closer.

The light in the forest dimmed, carrying a hint of chill.

To ensure concealment, he didn’t use any spiritual power at all.

Suddenly, several streams of light appeared, diving into the small hill opposite at high speed. Not long after, another stream of light swept past.

It was the Third Elder meeting up with the people from the Black Wind Stockade.

The so-called Fat Sheep should be arriving here soon.

Less than half an hour later, he saw a paper kite as large as one zhang whistling over. Every time it flapped its wings, it covered dozens of zhang in distance.

On the paper kite sat a young Cultivator in fine silk robes, with streams of light flashing across his body from time to time.

At a glance, he was not comparable to an ordinary Loose Cultivator.

”Brother Chengyuan, how about it? This Fat Sheep was carefully selected by us; isn’t he worth a hundred times more than your grandnephew?”

A man from the Black Wind Stockade looked at the paper kite, his face filled with deep greed.

”Still follow the distribution method we agreed upon! Third, Scarface, you two attack with me, the others prepare for an ambush. Absolutely cannot let this person escape!”

Lin Chengyuan nodded and said.

The value of the paper kite under this Fat Sheep, the Storage Pouch at his waist, and various protective Magical Artifacts alone reached hundreds of Spirit Stones.

Not to mention the good things in the Storage Pouch.

If he pulled off this job, he would have the resources to Breakthrough to the Qi Refining Sixth Layer.

The Fat Sheep did not notice the murderous intent on the hilltop and continued to move forward at a steady speed. When he reached the foot of the hill and was about to go up along the path, Lin Chengyuan and the others who were lying in ambush on the hilltop moved!

”Do it!” Lin Chengyuan said in a low voice, taking the lead to leap out from his hiding place. With a flick of his sleeves, a phantom image of a dark green vine shot out from his cuffs like a poisonous snake, rapidly entangling the Fat Sheep’s feet! It was the Lin family’s ancestral wood-attribute technique — ”Green Vine Entanglement”!

Almost at the same time, Scarface let out a strange cry, and a black short blade in his hand cut through the air, bringing with it a shrill whistle, piercing straight at the Fat Sheep’s back heart!

The burly man with the axe was like a humanoid Vicious Beast, leaping high. The heavy giant axe in his hand was infused with thick, earthy-yellow spiritual power, bringing with it the momentum of splitting mountains and rocks, hacking down toward the Fat Sheep’s head!

Before the axe blade arrived, the heavy wind pressure had already swept up all the gravel and withered leaves on the ground!

Three-sided encirclement, killing moves arriving simultaneously! One Qi Refining Fifth Layer, two Qi Refining Fourth Layer Peak, cooperating tacitly, ruthless and heartless! Instantly sealing off all the Fat Sheep’s space for evasion!

The Fat Sheep was clearly terrified, his Soul Flying Away and Spirit Scattering by this sudden attack! The blood drained from his face instantly, and his eyes were filled with unbelievable horror and despair.

At the critical moment, he didn’t even have time to let out a short exclamation, instinctively and desperately channeling the spiritual power in his body into the jade pendant at his waist.

The jade pendant shook gently.

A layer of light cyan spiritual power shield had just appeared on his body surface when it was heavily struck by the three fierce attacks!

Bang! Swish! Boom!

The Green Vine wrapped around the shield, making a teeth-grinding tightening sound, the green light and cyan light colliding violently; the black short blade stabbed into the shield, making a harsh friction sound with sparks splashing; the giant axe brought with it the momentum of Mount Tai pressing down, hacking down heavily!

Almost in an instant, the cyan light was completely exhausted.

The jade pendant dimmed, losing its luster.

Just when Lin Chengyuan thought he was about to succeed, the Fat Sheep had already taken advantage of this moment of defense from the jade pendant to pull a large handful of Talisman paper from his Storage Pouch.

Several spiritual lights flashed, Fireballs, Earth Spike Guns, Golden Light Shields...

Attack and defense Talismans were thrown out as if they were worthless.

They were all First-Grade Medium Grade Talismans.

Lin Chengyuan frowned, not expecting him to have such deep pockets.

Even he usually only had two or three Talismans on him at most.

However, he licked his lips; the bigger the waves, the more expensive the fish.

After killing the Fat Sheep, the benefits gained would be even greater.
