Cultivation Begins with Daily Intelligence Reports

5: I picked up a monsterThe beaten path under their feet had disappeared before they knew it.

It had turned into unyielding mountain rocks and layers of fallen leaves.

Every so often, Lin Jingxia and Little Miss would leave a mark, imprinting it with their Qi.

These marks, containing only a tiny amount of Qi, could only last for three to five hours before dissipating, but it was enough to recognize the path they had come by and walk back out.

The two immediately began digging for some wild vegetables and medicinal herbs.

If ordinary medicinal herbs were gathered in large quantities or were of high age, they could also be worth some Spirit Stones.

Lin Jingyu followed behind like a dullard, not saying a word. Lin Jingxia had asked him several times to catch up so the three of them could be together.

He wouldn’t listen, insisting on keeping his distance, because he tried his best not to get involved in matters predicted by his Golden Finger, unless it was something where the outcome absolutely had to be changed.

It was truly enough to make Lin Jingxia furious.

Lin Jingxia thought that when three people were traveling through mountains and rivers together, holding hands for support or helping each other by the arm were all very normal actions, weren’t they?

If things kept going like this, wouldn’t the warmth between her and Little Miss rise rapidly!

Following behind, what kind of opportunities could there be?

Lin Jingxia rolled her eyes in anger and simply stopped paying attention to him, focusing on digging for herbs instead.

Lin Jingyu wasn’t idle either; upon seeing some decent bamboo shoots, he dug up a few, and he also gathered some wild chestnuts.

It had to be said that the resources in the back mountain were very abundant.

It was enough to support thousands of ordinary people.

It was just that within the immortal cultivation circle, these ordinary, mundane items were worth next to nothing.

It was said that some professional herb gatherers would venture dozens of miles deep, entering the territory belonging to the Black Mountain.

Inside, there were all kinds of treasures, Spiritual Plants, and even high-rank Spiritual Veins.

It was also filled with great danger, with Yao Beasts at the Qi Refinement Stage, Foundation Establishment Stage, and even Golden Core Yao Beasts.

Unless they were highly experienced mountain travelers or herb gatherers, ordinary Cultivators would not dare to go inside.

”Boom!”

A huge crashing sound came, and Lin Jingyu’s heart tightened as he quickly looked over.

He saw Lin Jingxia with her hands on her hips, looking proud.

About ten meters away, a Roe Deer had been struck on the head by two stones the size of fists and had immediately stopped breathing.

Needless to say, it was definitely her achievement.

”Haha, Brother, Little Miss, now we have Roe Deer meat to eat.”

The voice carried far into the empty mountain forest.

Lin Jingyu’s gaze froze. Could it be that the bloody smell from killing the Roe Deer had attracted that Yao Beast Baboon?

However, he did not feel too much worry in his heart.

After all, since the two of them could escape it, it wasn’t a very powerful Yao Beast.

Before he could move closer, he heard a howl.

Accompanied by the continuous cracking of branches, a silver-white Baboon, over five feet tall, charged over.

With a push of its feet, its demonic power erupted, and it charged toward Lin Jingxia.

Lin Jingyu sensed it; the intensity of its demonic power was only equivalent to the Qi Refining Second Layer.

However, Yao Beasts grew through slaughter, and their combat experience was far beyond what ordinary Cultivators could compare to.

”Yao Beast! Run!”

Lin Jingxia was startled, her face showing visible panic. She gripped the hoe in her hand tightly, pouring her Qi into it as if it cost nothing, and smashed it fiercely toward the Baboon’s skull.

”Dong!!” A sound rang out.

It was like striking iron or stone.

The hoe shattered into several pieces, and the webbing between Lin Jingxia’s thumb and index finger was shaken until it was bleeding profusely.

The Baboon also fell to the ground, shaking its head, trying to climb back up.

Seeing this, Little Miss immediately threw away useless items like the basket on her back and grabbed Lin Jingxia, running for their lives.

The Baboon, having regained its senses, had a bump the size of a bowl on its head and roared in anger.

It chased after the two young women.

Lin Jingyu did not step in to stop the Baboon; instead, he followed behind it, running forward quickly.

As he walked, he observed the surrounding environment in passing.

...

Lin Jingxia and Little Miss ran around in a panic, soon losing their way. The angry roars behind them prevented them from stopping their pace.

They could only continue moving forward.

They waited until they could no longer hear the sounds behind them before they let out a long sigh of relief and stopped.

Little Miss began to carefully treat Lin Jingxia’s wound. Because the hoe handle had broken in her hand, the webbing of her thumb and index finger had been pierced by many wood splinters.

They had to be pulled out one by one.

”My brother, where is my brother? Where is he? Will he be alright?”

Lin Jingxia had been in a slightly dazed state; the Yao Beast attack just now had occupied all her attention.

Now that they were out of danger, the first thing she thought of was Lin Jingyu’s safety.

She couldn’t help but feel very anxious.

”Jingxia, don’t worry! Your brother will be fine. That Yao Beast Baboon was chasing us the whole time and didn’t pay any attention to your brother.”

Little Miss comforted her.

Lin Jingxia finally breathed a sigh of relief and began to look at the surrounding environment.

They were on the edge of a small cliff, with a rock several meters large under their feet. The mountains on both sides were covered with yellow flowers the size of a palm.

”Little Miss, I’ve heard since I was little that after some people jumped off a cliff, not only did they not die, but they instead obtained a Senior’s Legacy and directly became a Foundation Establishment great Cultivator.

Do you think we should go down the cliff and take a look? Maybe we could also obtain a Legacy!”

Lin Jingxia pursed her lips and suggested.

Little Miss did not have such childish thoughts. She bandaged Lin Jingxia’s wound with her clothes, tapped her on the head, and said:

”We don’t have that kind of luck. We’d better hurry and walk out of the mountains. The marks along the way are gone; we can only rely on the sun to identify the direction.

If we drag it out until night, the mountains will be dangerous.”

”Oh, let’s just go take a look...”

Lin Jingxia could not suppress her curiosity and wanted to pull Little Miss toward the edge of the cliff to take a look.

Rustling sounds came from the forest on one side.

The two became alert, gathering the Qi in their bodies, ready to deal with sudden danger.

But they saw Lin Jingyu walking out from inside.

He looked young but determined, his eyes bright and piercing, and he was holding something in his arms.

Looking closely, it was actually the Yao Beast Baboon that had been chasing them.

Lin Jingxia ignored the wound on her hand and ran over. Looking at the Baboon, which had died with its eyes wide open, she exclaimed: ”Brother, you killed the Yao Beast? You are too amazing!”

Even Little Miss couldn’t help but size up Lin Jingyu.

The combat power of a Yao Beast of the same rank was far superior to that of ordinary Cultivators like them who had no background of a Legacy.

Lin Jingyu had a somewhat strange expression on his face.

This Baboon in his arms must have offended the Tai Sui.

It had a run of bad luck.

First, it was fiercely struck on the head by Lin Jingxia, which left it dazed and confused.

Subsequently, during the pursuit, the Baboon wanted to take a shortcut but got stuck between the branches of an Iron-Wood-Stone tree.

Although this Iron-Wood-Stone tree was not a Yao tree, its wood was as hard as iron and stone, and even a Qi Refining Mid-Stage Cultivator would find it very difficult to destroy it.

Even with the Yao Beast’s powerful strength, it was unable to free itself for a time.

Presumably, it was for this reason that it did not continue to pursue Lin Jingxia and Little Miss.

When Lin Jingyu saw this scene, it was as if a pig was stuck in a wall.

He really couldn’t bear to leave it alone, so he climbed the tree, used the Magical Artifact dagger he carried with him, stabbed it hundreds of times, and forcibly stabbed it to death.

He carried it down from the tree, sensed the Qi mark he had left on his sister, and then followed them here.
