Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1518: Chapter 1533: Raised an Ungrateful Wretch

An Sicheng spoke again, his eyes reddening, the tall boy radiating a sense of loneliness and sadness.

At this moment, the waiter started serving the dishes one by one. An Ran reached across the table and touched his hand, ”Let’s not talk about it now, let’s eat.”

During this time, he was taking care of his father at the hospital. His parents rarely mentioned his eldest sister, and even when his mother occasionally brought her up, his father would stop her with a glance.

From what his mother implied, when his father fainted this time, they were arguing about his sister. He didn’t know that she had already left the An Family, and what other issues there could be at home, but he felt that things between his sister and the family were not as simple as his mother made them out to be.

Throughout the meal, the two didn’t mention An Youcai again. In Sicheng’s view, he had already informed his sister about their father’s situation. Whether she came or not, she had her own plans. Although he hoped she would visit, he wouldn’t influence her decision.

An Ran asked about An Sicheng’s recent studies, including his situation with Su Jingyan.

What surprised her was that since returning from the Imperial City last time, An Sicheng hadn’t contacted Su Jingyan at all.

However, he didn’t contact her not because he forgot about her, but because he believed one day he would stand in front of her openly.

After dinner, the sky had already darkened. An Sicheng was still concerned about matters at the hospital and parted ways with An Ran. Only after watching him get into a taxi did An Ran walk back alone.

At Shengde Hospital, An Sicheng entered the ward and saw his mother persuading his father to eat more, while An Youcai shook his head, tiredly leaning against the bed, closing his eyes.

”What’s wrong? Dad’s not feeling well?” An Sicheng asked, looking at the half bowl of porridge left.

Upon hearing An Sicheng’s voice, An Youcai suddenly opened his eyes, looking at him with hope, ”How is it? Will your sister come?”

Sun Xuehui slammed the bowl onto the table, ”Will she come? Will she come? That little witch made our family suffer so much, made Jiajia disappear without a trace, why do you still miss her? To come and laugh at us or to show her triumphant achievement?”

An Sicheng shook his head, ”I told my sister that you are hospitalized. Whether she comes, I don’t know, but Dad, don’t worry. I can see that in her heart, she cares about you. Maybe she will come to see you in a few days.”

An Sicheng saw An Youcai’s eyes dim again and quickly comforted him.

An Youcai sighed, said nothing more, and closed his eyes tiredly once more.

His spirit had been deteriorating over these days. It had been so many days since the police were alerted, yet there was no information about Jiajia. He feared he wouldn’t hold on to see her again.

Thankfully, Jiawen had waived her penalty fees, and the family savings would ensure a good life for the three of them for the latter half of their lives. His only concern now was still Ran, to whom he owed too much and felt he had wronged her.

If before dying he could see her again, face her wrath even, he would die without regret.

”Hmph, how could that little witch come to see your dad? She’s no longer the An Ran she was before, and doesn’t think much of the An Family anymore,” Sun Xuehui snorted coldly again from the side.

”Chengcheng, you’ve been at school all this time, and Mom hasn’t dared to tell you about things at home. Who caused your dad to be like this? Who caused your sister’s disappearance? It’s that little witch. She reached high but didn’t forget to step on our family. All these years, I’ve only raised a thankless brat.”
