Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1305: Chapter 1319: What Kind of Mom Is This?

Jiang Xinru looked at her relaxed steps and couldn’t help but lean closer to her husband, whispering in a voice only they could hear, ”It can’t be, right? They say young people are energetic and recover quickly, but shouldn’t be like this? Is it possible that your son isn’t up to par in this area?”

Lin Weidong involuntarily twitched his mouth, what kind of mother is this? Is there any mother who talks about her own son like that?

Xiao Xiao saw Jiang Xinru and Lin Weidong looking at her, and politely greeted the elders, ”Good morning Uncle Lin, Aunt Jiang, and Grandpa Lin.”

Old Mr. Lin finally looked up, his face smiling with lines, ”Good, Xiao Xiao, did you sleep well last night? Come down and eat breakfast.”

Xiao Xiao was just about to go downstairs when the door next to her opened, and Lin Junyang came out disheveled, rubbing his hair and looking sleepy.

Hearing the commotion, Xiao Xiao, feeling guilty, quickened her steps, banging into the corner at the turn of the stairs with a ”thud.”

”Ouch,” Xiao Xiao covered her hip in pain, suspecting she might have broken something.

Lin Junyang also completely woke up, seeing the girl’s pained and scrunched up face, he walked over in a few steps and pulled her into his arms, bending down to check, ”Are you stupid? Can’t you see such a big stair railing?”

Xiao Xiao was in so much pain she almost burst into tears, but hearing Lin Junyang’s words, she didn’t dare to talk back, looking as aggrieved as one could.

Jiang Xinru originally felt a slight twinge of disappointment seeing them come out of different rooms, but now seeing her son so concerned for Xiao Xiao, she felt happy, it seemed her son finally showed some awareness.

Even though his emotional intelligence was somewhat worrying, it was better than being oblivious.

Afraid that the kids might not feel free at home, Jiang Xinru was quite nimble and pulled Lin Weidong out the door.

”Can you still walk? Let me carry you down,” he said.

Lin Junyang said as he was about to lift her horizontally, really didn’t give anyone peace of mind, even walking normally could end up like this.

Xiao Xiao looked at Grandpa Lin and a bunch of servants downstairs, how could she let Lin Junyang carry her like that, so she tightly gripped the stair railing, smiling awkwardly, ”No need, no need, I can walk myself, it’s not that painful.”

”Idiot,” Lin Junyang snorted softly, knowing she was embarrassed, he didn’t insist and went downstairs ahead to wash up.

Xiao Xiao tried to keep her walking posture normal, descending the stairs step by step.

Sitting down at the dining table, she asked Grandpa Lin, ”Grandpa Lin, have you eaten yet?”

Old Mr. Lin now looked at Xiao Xiao with utmost satisfaction, finding her obedient and sensible, far better than those pampered young ladies.

He raised his hand, pointing at the breakfast the servants had just laid on the table, and said to her, ”I’ve eaten, see if the food suits your taste. If not, let the servants make something else for you.”

Xiao Xiao looked at the table, it was all Chinese breakfast, buns, steamed bread, fried dough sticks, eggs, pickles, soy milk, and millet porridge.

”It’s already great, I love all these,” Xiao Xiao replied with a smile.

She really meant it. Having been used to tough days with her mom since childhood, she knew how to be frugal, not to mention the breakfast looked and tasted good, her childhood breakfasts often were no more than a steamed bread, yet she always found it incredibly delicious.

”Good, then eat more,” Old Mr. Lin said, putting down his newspaper, and told the guard beside him, ”Li, come, walk with this old man.”

The guard responded and followed Old Mr. Lin out the door in step.
