Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1304: Chapter 1318: Should I Run Away Right Now?

Hearing the sound of Lin Junyang leaving, Xiao Xiao suddenly sat up, startling the maid who was just about to hand her the pajamas.

”Miss Xiao, do you need me to help you change into pajamas?”

Xiao Xiao looked down at her clothes and then fell back onto the bed, mumbling, ”Just leave them there, I’ll do it myself, you can go out now.”

The maid reluctantly put down the pajamas, reminded her a couple more times, and then left the room, while Xiao Xiao had already fallen back into a dream the moment the door closed.

The morning sunlight gently streamed in through the window, casting a bright beam through the cracks in the curtains.

”Ah—”

Xiao Xiao let out a startled cry and sat up, her wide eyes blinking in a daze.

What did she do yesterday? She seemed to have drunk alcohol and then kissed that guy Lin Junyang. And then? Then it seemed like she fell asleep in the car, and he carried her into the house.

No way, how could that guy Lin Junyang be so gentle to her?

Xiao Xiao irritably scratched her head; maybe it was just a dream.

She looked down and suddenly realized she was still wearing the same outfit from yesterday, and her hand almost pulled her hair out.

Damn, it wasn’t a dream, it was really Lin Junyang who carried her inside, and she did actually kiss him.

Xiao Xiao dejectedly buried her head between her knees; she was too embarrassed to face anyone.

What to do? And now she’s still living under the same roof with him, should she escape now?

But just thinking of the armed guards at the Lin Family made her inexplicably nervous.

If she doesn’t run, will that guy laugh at her when he sees her later? How should she respond? Play dumb and pretend to be confused?

Xiao Xiao climbed down from the bed and paced back and forth in the room, finally deciding to play dumb and pretend to be confused, after all, she drank too much yesterday, and not remembering things is normal.

Having figured this out, she then rushed into the bathroom to freshen up.

The Lin Family are all military people, and their routines are always very disciplined.

At eight in the morning, Old Mr. Lin had already finished breakfast and was sitting on the sofa reading the newspaper. Lin Weidong came out fully dressed and saw his wife still slowly eating buns at the dining table, stopping and asking, ”Aren’t you going to work today?”

Jiang Xinru was absent-mindedly stuffing buns into her mouth while looking towards the direction of the second floor, only coming back to her senses at Lin Weidong’s words, ”Yes, what time is it?”

Lin Weidong glanced at his watch, ”Eight o’clock, two minutes and thirty-eight seconds.”

”Oh no, I’m going to be late,” Jiang Xinru crammed the last bite of bun into her mouth, drank the remaining half bowl of porridge in one gulp, and reluctantly glanced at the second floor.

”Honey, why don’t I take a few days off? You see, our daughter is about to get married, and we have guests at home. I can take a few days off to take care of them.”

Old Mr. Lin, not lifting his head from the newspaper, said, ”Everyone should just do what they are supposed to do, they are all grown up, do they still need you to take care of them? Besides, isn’t there still this old man in the house?”

Jiang Xinru was left speechless, blinking her eyes and looking at Lin Weidong.

Lin Weidong knew exactly what she was thinking, walking over and wrapping an arm around her shoulders, ”You just go to work at ease. When has that brat Junyang ever not slept in when he’s at home? Do you really think everyone is like me? Strict with themselves whether in the military camp or not?”

”But Xiao Xiao hasn’t come down yet, what if the two of them...”

Jiang Xinru raised her eyebrows suggestively, leaving the implication unsaid.

Just then, the sound of the guest room door on the second floor opening echoed, and Jiang Xinru and Lin Weidong instinctively glanced upstairs, only to see Xiao Xiao coming out with her hair tied in a high ponytail, looking fresh and clean.
