Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 1033: Chapter 1046: Our Role Model

The Nan’an Guard Team is located quite a distance from the city, so there’s a primary school set up here specifically for the captains’ children, making it convenient for their families to care for them. These children will attend a public middle school in Nan’an City once they reach middle school.

Jia Chenggang drove Wang Xia and her son straight to the entrance of the Guard Team, greeted the gatekeeper, and drove into the courtyard.

Hairong leaned forward on the car window, his big, dark eyes staring at the majestic gate of the Guard Team and the straight-standing team members with a gaze of both admiration and awe.

”Mom, is Dad like this too?”

The few times Hairong had met Mu Xingfeng were all in the Imperial City, where Mu Xingfeng seldom wore professional attire. Seeing the team members in their guard uniforms, standing tall, Hairong imagined Mu Xingfeng’s upright and dignified appearance.

As Wang Xia entered the Guard Team, her thoughts were overwhelmed. It wasn’t her first visit; the last time she came, Haigang was still alive. They had been married not long, and she came here to see Haigang. It was also the time she met the man who made her heart flutter at first sight.

She considered herself not to be a fickle woman, but that man was like a ray of winter sunlight, directly illuminating her world.

She and Haigang were introduced through their family elders. They got to know each other through arranged meetings, having only met a few times before their wedding. She had thought that love at first sight and romantic stories were only found in books or on television. In real life, as long as the person is honest, treats her well, and is someone reliable, that would be enough.

But since seeing Mu Xingfeng, she realized she had never actually been in love. There was no romantic feeling between her and Haigang, no heartbeat-skipping sensation.

Before Haigang passed away, he entrusted her and their son to Mu Xingfeng, which made her feel even more that this was a destined connection between her and Mu Xingfeng.

When she heard Hairong’s question, Wang Xia reined in her thoughts, gently stroking her son’s little head, ”Daddy also wears clothes like this? But Daddy won’t be a sentinel. Daddy is very impressive.”

”Really? Uncle Jia, is it true? Is my dad impressive?” Hairong, hearing his mother’s words, turned to look at Jia Chenggang again.

Perhaps the child was really excited; he was even calling ”Uncle Jia,” which he rarely called people normally.

Jia Chenggang was a bit taken aback by this unexpected attention but only showed it by the thin layer of sweat in his palms on the steering wheel. His face, however, remained calm.

”Yes, your dad is indeed very impressive, a role model for us all.”

The dad that Jia Chenggang referred to without a doubt was Hairong’s biological father, Haigang.

He was a hero, a martyr who sacrificed for the country and the people, deserving of pride and admiration. Jia Chenggang wasn’t stingy with praise for Haigang.

Upon hearing Jia Chenggang’s affirmation, Hairong contentedly looked outside the car window at the upright figures passing by on the road, his little mouth in a constant smile.

The car drove directly to the school entrance, a two-story small building for the school.

Jia Chenggang stopped the car, opened the door, and carried Hairong out. He said to Wang Xia, ”Wait here for a while, I’ll go park the car.”

Wang Xia surveyed the surroundings and replied to Jia Chenggang, ”No need, I’ll take Hairong to register. You can wait for us over there.”

After saying this, without waiting for Jia Chenggang to respond, she took Hairong’s hand and entered the primary school.
