Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 830: Chapter 840: Towering Tree

”Brother Lin, I still remember the time you made things difficult for my granddaughter. If you don’t make amends today, I’m afraid this old man will have to end our friendship,” Old Mr. Shen said at the banquet.

The incident of Old Mr. Lin locking An Ran up during his birthday feast was something Shen had held onto, even though Lin Ruonan later visited to apologize, and it hadn’t caused a rift between the Lin and Mu families. Knowing now that An Ran was his granddaughter only made it harder for him to let go.

Old Mr. Lin shook his head with a smile, ”Old Brother, had I known that girl was your granddaughter, I wouldn’t have dared even if I had two lives. I admit I was muddle-headed then and made Ran suffer. I’m not concerned about my old face today, so I’ll apologize to Ran in front of everyone.”

With that, Old Mr. Lin raised his glass.

An Ran quickly stood up, ”Grandpa Lin, it’s not that serious, I was also thoughtless that day.”

She hadn’t minded the incident for a long time. Thinking back, she realized she was in the wrong. Lin Ruonan had liked Mu Xingfeng for years, and Old Mr. Lin had hoped for it just as long. In the end, she took away the grandson-in-law he had his eyes on and attended his birthday feast with Xingfeng, which did seem somewhat provocative.

”It’s alright, girl, have a drink with Grandpa. Otherwise, your grandpa won’t let me live it down. But I do want to thank Ran. Without her, my silly granddaughter would still be hanging on that tree.” Old Mr. Lin said, glancing at Mu Xingfeng.

It’s evident to everyone that Lin Ruonan’s attitude towards Gu Haoyu has changed a lot since she returned. It seems the Lin family’s joyous occasion is approaching.

Thanks to An Ran’s appearance, Lin Ruonan let go of her fixation on Mu Xingfeng and was able to find a great grandson-in-law like Gu Haoyu.

”Old Man Lin, I don’t like what you said. What’s wrong with my grandson being that tree?” Old Mr. Mu said, pursing his lips in dissatisfaction, drawing laughter from everyone.

Leaning on Mu Xingfeng’s shoulder, An Ran chuckled mischievously, ”My tree is robust and strong, a towering giant.”

Mu Xingfeng affectionately ruffled her hair, ”Thanks for the compliment, my dear wife.”

”Oh wow, looks like I didn’t come back too late,” a clear voice with a carefree tone came from the door.

Everyone turned to look at the door, seeing a man in a black trench coat walking into the hall, followed by an attendant carrying a large box.

As he entered, the man threw his trench coat to a guard by the door and rolled up his crisp white shirt sleeves while walking towards the table.

”Uncle Mu, Aunt Mu, Uncle Lin, hello everyone,” he greeted as a servant quickly added a chair for him. Before he even took his seat, he reached out for a piece of rib to munch on.

”You brat, behaving like this in front of us elders and the younger generation, what do you think you’re doing? Coming back only just in time for your nephew’s wedding?” Old Mr. Shen grunted, but his eyes were full of indulgent affection.

”Dad, I’ve just gotten back and you’re already scolding me. Aren’t you even going to ask how I got here? I got up in the middle of the night, took a day-long flight, and haven’t even had a sip of water,” the man said, finishing the rib and taking Shen Zheng’s wine glass, downing the red wine in one gulp.

”Oh right, Wenxuan, Wanxin, congratulations on your wedding! I’ve brought gifts in my suitcase for you,” he added.

Mu Wanxin covered her face with a laugh, ”Thank you, Uncle. You should hurry and fill your stomach first.”
