Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself

Chapter 821: Chapter 831: The Matriarch

”Aunt He, you know that’s not what I meant,” An Ran said helplessly.

”Still calling me Aunt? Put on the jade bracelet like a good girl, and call me Mom. Today is Wanxin’s big day, and I want to enjoy the feeling of double happiness.”

Mu Xingfeng also walked onto the stage, reaching out to embrace the girl’s waist. He knew his little one had been scared by his grandfather and mother.

”Be good, since Mom gave it to you, just wear it.”

An Ran looked at Mu Xingfeng, then at He Yushu, and finally let go of the hand she was holding, allowing He Yushu to put the bracelet on her wrist. She softly said, ”Thank you, Mom.”

”Good girl,” He Yushu smiled with satisfaction as she looked at An Ran’s wrist.

”In that case, shouldn’t I, as the father, show my appreciation too?” Mu Zhenzong said as he walked up to the stage.

He Yushu chided, ”What are you doing adding to the chaos?”

Mu Zhenzong ignored his wife and went straight to An Ran. ”Ran, since you’ve called her Mom, when will you formally recognize your Uncle Mu?”

An Ran was even more embarrassed by his words. She hadn’t expected the dignified minister to throw a childish tantrum.

She didn’t hesitate and politely called out, ”Dad.”

”Aye!” Mu Zhenzong responded more decisively.

Mu Xingfeng extended his elegantly jointed fingers, shaking them in front of Mu Zhenzong.

”What is it?” Mu Zhenzong knew from his son’s mischievous look that he wasn’t up to anything good.

”Didn’t you say you wanted to express something? Mom already gave her the jade bracelet of the head mistress, what about you?”

Mu Zhenzong twitched his mouth at that, this brat, already forgetting his father for his wife. What kind of occasion is this, publicly asking him to give something to his daughter-in-law?

The gifts for their engagement had already been prepared for An Ran, but he didn’t have them with him at the moment.

”Rascal, no respect at all, do you think I’d shortchange your wife?” Mu Zhenzong pretended to be angry, but there was joy in his eyes.

For a moment, the guests’ voices rose in blessings, all congratulating Old Mr. Mu and his family on their double happiness.

Old Mr. Mu clasped his hands together, expressing gratitude for everyone’s blessings.

The wedding continued, and the newlyweds and guests moved to the banquet hall.

Mu Xingfeng led An Ran to a corner seat, looking at the elegance of the jade green on her slender white wrist. He gently rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb, ”It’s really beautiful.”

”Mu Xingfeng, isn’t it a bit too early to give me this now? Maybe you should talk to Mom about returning the bracelet to her,” An Ran tried to negotiate with Mu Xingfeng.

Ever since putting on the bracelet, she felt uneasy. As the mistress of the Mu family, she didn’t have great ambitions, just wanted to be a good wife to Mu Xingfeng. She hadn’t settled into the role yet and already wore such a hat. It was impossible not to feel pressure.

You don’t have to think hard to know how many socialites and heiresses in the Imperial City are eyeing the position of the Mu family’s mistress. The moment He Yushu put the bracelet on her, she could feel the knife-like gazes from all directions.

If looks could kill, she would have been pierced by a thousand arrows already.

”Mom gave it to you, just keep it. As for the Mu family’s matters, you don’t need to worry about them. Just focus on your studies. Mom only wanted to give you a title.” Mu Xingfeng understood An Ran’s concerns and didn’t want her to deal with family affairs too early.

His little wife was still young, and he didn’t want to give her too much pressure. He wanted to give her happiness and a carefree life, not pressure from the family and career.
