Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 939: Chapter 808: The Little One Is Not to Be Trifled With!

Entrusting Little Di Shen to Ye Lingyue’s care was undoubtedly a difficult decision for Princess Qingfeng.

As a mother, after finally regaining her son, Princess Qingfeng had selfishly thought about keeping Feng Xun by her side to make up for the lost childhood years she and Feng Lan hadn’t spent with him.

But upon seeing Little Di Shen’s dependence on Ye Lingyue earlier, along with the strength Ye Lingyue exhibited, Princess Qingfeng hesitated.

Putting aside the issue of her daughter-in-law, Princess Qingfeng really admired Ye Lingyue.

Because they were similar people, both having undergone hardships and not succumbing to them.

She could tell that although Ye Lingyue seemed somewhat unprepared for Little Di Shen’s presence, the joy and love in her eyes were evident.

”Princess Qingfeng, are you really willing to entrust him to me... but I don’t even have any experience in taking care of a child,” Ye Lingyue glanced at Little Di Shen. The child was sleeping contentedly, his long eyelashes trembled like butterfly wings.

Even when asleep, his hand kept a firm grasp on Ye Lingyue, as if holding onto his entire world.

”I believe Little Di Shen would prefer to stay with you. Here are some things from Feng Xun’s childhood, all still new, for you to keep. I’ll be in the Xia Capital for a few more days, and I’ll teach you everything you need to know about childcare,” Princess Qingfeng said, taking out a storage bag.

Thus, the responsibility of caring for Little Di Shen fell upon Ye Lingyue.

Compared to explaining things to Princess Qingfeng and the others, Ye Lingyue was more troubled about how to explain Little Di Shen’s origin to the Ye Family People, especially her conservative grandfather Ye Gu.

She must confess the truth about Little Di Shen to the Feng couple, but she couldn’t reveal it to the Ye Family People.

In the early morning at the Ye Residence, a thunderous roar echoed.

All within several miles of the Ye Family heard the old master’s voice, and the servants were astonished that the cause of his anger was Ye Lingyue, who had always been favored by the old man.

”What! You say you’ve found an abandoned baby, and you plan to adopt him! My dear granddaughter, don’t tell me you’ve lost your mind. You’re a young maiden about to be married, how can you raise a child? You’re still a child yourself,” Ye Gu spat out his tea, his eyes bulging like copper bells.

What nonsense, his granddaughter was only just fifteen and unmarried. At this age, bringing home a baby, who knows what gossip might arise if people found out.

”Grandfather, I’ve thought it through. This child resonates with me. He’s all alone, and I can’t bear to leave him,” Ye Lingyue hastily concocted a lie.

She said Little Di Shen was found by her on the doorstep when she left the house this morning.

”Even if you resonate with him, you can’t raise him for a lifetime. My dear granddaughter, reputation is crucial for a young lady. Although you have a marriage agreement with Family Head Feng, you still need to be mindful of what others say. Why not let me handle it? I’ll find an experienced nursemaid for him, and we’ll foster him at the Ye Family. Rest assured, with the Ye Family’s current status and power, he won’t suffer any grievances,” Ye Gu proposed, intending to have someone take away Little Di Shen.

Because Little Di Shen clung tightly to Ye Lingyue, unwilling to let her out of his sight for even a minute of the 24 hours a day.

Ye Lingyue had no choice but to make a small bamboo basket to place the baby inside.

As Ye Gu ordered someone to take him away, Little Di Shen poked his head out of the basket. His chubby little hands tugged at Ye Lingyue’s hair, clearly displeased at being ignored for so long.

As the servant approached to take Little Di Shen, the little one waved his ”little paw,” unceremoniously brushing off the servant’s hand.

Not stopping there, his gold-plated eyes seemed to possess a mysterious magic power, glaring at the servant.

The servant felt a sudden weakness in the knees, kneeling down involuntarily.

”Ee-ee ah-ah,”

Little Di Shen pursed his lips and continued playing blissfully with Ye Lingyue’s jet-black, silky hair.

Ye Gu was taken aback by Little Di Shen’s actions, and upon closer look, finally saw the little one’s appearance clearly.

Originally thinking the ”abandoned baby” would be a dirty, disabled child, but upon seeing him now...

The little one was plump and fair, with delicate features more handsome than any baby Ye Gu had ever seen. Despite his young age, he exuded a natural aura.

Goodness, this is not an ordinary abandoned baby.

Ye Gu muttered, becoming even more suspicious about Little Di Shen’s identity.

Yet, understanding his own granddaughter, her secrets were like those of an ancient clam. If she didn’t wish to speak, even prying wouldn’t make her divulge her secrets.

”Grandfather, you can see he is shy and won’t allow anyone to approach. About adopting him, I’ve discussed it with Feng Residence. Princess Qingfeng also plans to recognize him as her son,” Ye Lingyue persuaded gently, soothing Ye Gu eventually.

A few days later, as the lunar year passed.

As the first month arrived, Princess Qingfeng and Feng Lan departed from the Ye Residence. Before leaving, she reminded Ye Lingyue of a few things, leaving with a peace of mind.

Not long after Princess Qingfeng’s departure, the news of Ye Lingyue adopting an abandoned baby quickly spread throughout the Ye Family.

Although Ye Lingyue’s status in the Ye Family was extraordinary, apart from her close relations like Ye Yinsuang, Ye Liuyun, and a few elders, many began to gossip about her. The very concerns Ye Gu had earlier slowly materialized.

Some even maliciously rumored that Little Di Shen was not an abandoned baby but a secret child Ye Lingyue had with someone.

The rumors reached Little Zhiyo’s ears, and it secretly sent Dahuang to severely reprimand the rumor-mongers, but it was merely a temporary solution.

Moreover, Ye Gu persistently inquired about Feng Xun’s whereabouts.

To prevent the revelation of Little Di Shen’s true origins, Ye Lingyue secretly planned; the time had come to leave the Ye Residence.

This situation also strengthened Ye Lingyue’s resolve to find a way for Little Di Shen to grow up quickly.

However, she was uncertain about where to go after leaving the Xia Capital.

During this time, there was still no news of Yan Jiu.

After refining Little Di Shen, the Cauldron Spirit was regretful or had simply exhausted too much Spiritual Energy, and it had been in a dormant state. No matter how much Ye Lingyue called, it wouldn’t awaken.

Without the Cauldron Spirit’s awakening, Ye Lingyue couldn’t make Little Di Shen grow up directly.

Just as Ye Lingyue was troubled and at a loss for thoughts, an unexpected incident occurred.
