Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 931: Chapter 800: Mysterious Black Shadow

Including the last time, Hong Meng Heaven has been upgraded three times.

Even though Ye Lingyue had known that Hong Meng Heaven’s area had expanded significantly, only by being there did she realize the extent of the expansion, which was astonishing.

Rainbow Creek had transformed into a rushing river, flanked by lush trees that appeared to be at least several hundred years old.

All around, low-grade Spiritual Beasts leisurely grazed on the grass.

The white mist seen when first entering Hong Meng Heaven had spread to a distant location, only faintly visible.

From the riverside area where the Three-legged Birdmen lived, across a dip in the land, and up to the hills was quite a trek.

With Ye Lingyue’s current capacity at the Third Layer of Heaven and Earth Tribulation, it took her an entire day to walk it.

According to instructions, the current size of Hong Meng Heaven was at least two Qiufeng Towns.

Ye Lingyue did not know if the area would continue to expand after the next upgrade of Hong Meng Heaven.

”Is this what you call a hill?”

Ye Lingyue was dumbfounded, standing in front of several towering mountains, with a sense of being misled.

The mountains before her, resembling a human hand, rose to an altitude of at least one or two thousand meters.

You can’t blame the Three-legged Birdmen because, unlike humans, Birdmen fly and thus have a weaker sense of distance. Anything over ten thousand meters is considered a mountain, and under that, just a hill.

The shape of the mountains was peculiar: tall and narrow. Although they resembled a human hand, there were six peaks, as if an extra finger had suddenly grown on the hand.

Due to the limited knowledge of the Three-legged Birdmen, they called these peaks Six-finger Mountain.

Earlier, Batu and others discovered a spiritual mine at the top of the sixth peak of Six-finger Mountain.

That peak was the tallest among them all.

”Your Majesty, earlier, we were ambushed near the waist of Six-finger Mountain.” The guide was a female Birdman warrior, and she happened to be Batu’s younger sister.

Batu’s sister was named Ba Qian and was a very agile archer.

She also told Ye Lingyue that she discovered the spiritual mine by accident.

The ores inside were unrecognizable to Ba Qian, but she was sure it wasn’t any known ore on the mainland.

Although the Three-legged Birdmen were Fierce Beasts, Chen Hongru’s involvement made them different from typical Fierce Beasts.

They possessed a certain ability to identify ores and could definitely say that the ore of Six-finger Mountain wasn’t any known metal ore.

Ba Qian’s words piqued Ye Lingyue’s interest in the spiritual mine of Six-finger Mountain.

”Time is of the essence. Let’s proceed into the mountain. For safety’s sake, stay behind us, and Dahuang will lead the way.”

Dahuang had a keen sense of smell, and after receiving Ye Lingyue’s command, Little Zhiyo smoothly climbed onto its head, and they proceeded toward the waist of Six-finger Mountain.

Along the way, the sound of insects filled the air, and the shrubs were dense.

The entire Six-finger Mountain appeared serene, with hardly any spiritual beasts - only the occasional butterfly or dragonfly was in sight.

Initially, Dahuang and Little Zhiyo were cautious, but as they found nothing unusual around them, they relaxed.

Out of boredom, Little Zhiyo even tried to catch some butterflies flitting by with its paws.

”Just a little further, and we’ll reach the spiritual mine,” Ba Qian pointed ahead.

Ye Lingyue nodded, ready to lead the group into the mine area.

”Boss, Little Zhiyo and Dahuang are missing.”

Little Wuya noticed that Little Zhiyo and Dahuang, seen wandering nearby earlier, were now nowhere in sight.

Those two must have been distracted by the butterflies and wandered off the right path.

”Those little troublemakers, the area is dangerous, we need to find them first.”

Only then did Ye Lingyue realize that in a moment of inattention, Little Zhiyo and Dahuang had disappeared.

The three of them veered off their path temporarily in the surrounding area, searching for the two creatures.

”Zhi~ (Brother Dahuang, charge ahead, catch that butterfly for me)”

Encouraged by Little Zhiyo, the two raced forward.

Unknowingly, they entered an area shrouded in mist.

A brightly colored butterfly paused on a stalk of Spirit Grass ahead. Without hesitation, Little Zhiyo leaped, curling its small body into a fuzzy ball, its claws extended to catch the butterfly.

But at that very moment, Little Zhiyo suddenly felt something slam into it from behind.

With a thud, its small body hit the ground, face-first, its mouth full of dirt.

”Zhi~ (Who, who dared to attack this Zhiyo from the shadows?)”

Little Zhiyo was furious, not only from the fall but because the butterfly had vanished without a trace.

Dahuang looked around alertly.

There was nothing unusual apart from a thin layer of fog, everything seemed normal.

Despite this, Dahuang felt uneasy as if something nearby was watching them unseen.

Dahuang picked up Little Zhiyo, intending to leave the area with it.

Just then, a shadow sprang from behind. Before Dahuang could react, it was swallowed by the shadow.

By the time Little Zhiyo realized, Dahuang had disappeared.

This infuriated Little Zhiyo.

It let out an angry roar, and its small snowball-like body swelled to several times its original size.

But the shadow only appeared for a brief moment to devour Dahuang before vanishing.

The surroundings were eerily silent, with no movement whatsoever.

No trace could be found among the trees and bushes alike.

The strange shadow seemed to have vanished without a trace.

Little Zhiyo was panicking when suddenly familiar footsteps were heard.

Ye Lingyue and Little Wuya had arrived.

Upon seeing its master, Little Zhiyo was ecstatic and narrated the incident of Dahuang’s disappearance to Ye Lingyue.

Ye Lingyue, startled, searched the vicinity but found no traces of any Wild Beast, demonic energy, or blood.

”It’s the same thing. The other tribespeople went missing after being ambushed by a shadow, leaving no trace behind either. Your Majesty, could it really be ghosts haunting this area?”

Ba Qian expressed her worry.

”Whether it’s a ghost or a god, we’ll only know once we catch it,” Ye Lingyue said seriously.

Dahuang had only just been taken; there was still time to rescue it before any harm could occur.

Luckily, Ye Lingyue had been cautious earlier, leaving a trace of Divine Sense on Dahuang. With that trace, she could surely find Dahuang’s whereabouts.

Invoking her Divine Sense, Ye Lingyue sighed in relief. Despite the faint signal, the trace on Dahuang was still intact.

The direction indicated by her Divine Sense pointed toward the waist of Six-finger Mountain!
