Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 929: Chapter 798: The Demon Emperor Appears

The guard who was called out looked at the dirty and ragged figure of Jiao Song, gave him a contemptuous glance, and brushed him off dismissively.

”Where did this ignorant fool come from, not recognizing his own status? The Netherworld Emperor isn’t someone you can see just because you want to.”

But immediately after reprimanding, the guard’s expression changed drastically, because he realized his hand was tightly gripped by the middle-aged man, and he couldn’t shake it off.

Sky Demon?

This man, who looked no different from a beggar, was actually a strong individual with the power of a Sky Demon?

But aren’t all Sky Demons supposedly of noble birth, supported by their Sky Demon Families? How could one seem as down-and-out as this?

Sensing the thick demonic power emanating from the middle-aged man, the guard’s previous disrespectful demeanor vanished instantly.

The South Nether Emperor could become one of the two great Demon Emperors in the Demon World because he valued talent the most.

Every year, a large number of powerful Demon Clan members would come to the South Nether City to seek allegiance with the South Nether Emperor.

”My lord, I am just a guard. To meet the Demon Emperor, you need to notify the higher-ups, and only if they permit it can I introduce you.”

Only then did Jiao Song release his hand.

The guard wiped his sweat and immediately led Jiao Song into the city.

About half a day later, Jiao Song was ushered into the South Nether Palace.

The Demon World is known for the South Nether City and the Beiyu Palace, referring to the two most prosperous Demon Emperor Domains.

Jiao Song had wandered around the Demon Awakening Gate for years, accustomed to the barren scenes of the Demon World, and was instantly captivated by the splendor here upon entering South Nether City.

In the palace, he saw Great Demons in human form, the women charming and seductive, the men handsome and dashing.

In the South Nether Palace, the floor was paved with gold tiles, with walls and pillars intricately carved from ivory bones, dazzling to the eyes.

While Jiao Song was dazzled by the sight, a bright yellow silhouette suddenly appeared ahead.

Before he could see clearly, his knees buckled, and he knelt down with a thud.

Looking around him, an invisible pressure overwhelmed him.

The majestic aura of the Demon Emperor was so overwhelming that, even though Jiao Song had absorbed part of the Moonflower King’s demonic power, he couldn’t withstand it.

In the entire South Nether Palace, there was only one person with such terrifying power, and that was one of the two great Demon Emperors, the South Nether Emperor himself.

”Hmm? The aura on you?”

Jiao Song felt a tightness around his neck, as a hand gripped it.

Jiao Song was utterly frightened, paralyzed by the demonic power emanating from that hand.

”Spare my life, Netherworld Emperor. I came for the Moonflower King and the Demon Ancestor.” Jiao Song stammered, his face turning blue and purple from suffocation.

Suddenly, the force on his neck disappeared.

The hint of bright yellow vanished.

On the throne ahead sat a man.

Jiao Song finally caught his breath, stealing a glance at the legendary South Nether Emperor.

He was a young sovereign, with honey-colored skin, a prominent nose, thick brows, and eyes sharp as blades, exuding an air of arrogance and wildness.

This was the South Nether Emperor Zhan Hen, one of the two great Demon Emperors in the Demon World.

”Speak. The Moonflower King’s aura on you, where did it come from?”

A loud shout, like a clap of thunder, exploded by Jiao Song’s ears.

”I am Jiao Song, originally a Great Demon from the Demon Lying Abyss area.”

Jiao Song dared not conceal anything, stammering through his brothers’ lineage and the matters concerning the Demon Awakening Gate and the Moonflower King.

It turned out that Jiao Song’s true form was that of a Tree Demon growing in the Demon Lying Abyss area.

He and his two brothers, Jiao Bai and Jiao Liu, gained Spiritual Sense after absorbing large amounts of demonic power.

By a stroke of luck, the three brothers obtained the blood of a Demon Flood Dragon that failed its Tribulation, gaining demonic power, becoming half-tree and half-beast.

Yet their power wasn’t enough to dominate the Demon World, so they took advantage of their status as Great Demons to claim dominion in the Demon Lying Abyss area.

The ambitious three brothers were never content and always aimed to enter the Demon World.

Until the appearance of the Moonflower King gave the three brothers a chance to rise.

But unexpectedly, greed almost led them to be killed by the Demon Ancestor.

Jiao Song nervously finished his story; the South Nether Emperor Zhan Hen on the throne remained silent, his face showing neither joy nor anger.

”You claim to have encountered the Demon Ancestor? And devoured the Demon Ancestor’s heart to gain the Moonflower King, advancing to become a Sky Demon. You have quite the nerve. Do you know, I was once a Demon God Guard under the Demon Ancestor.”

Zhan Hen’s words made Jiao Song’s knees go weak again.

The relationship between the Demon God Guard and the Demon Ancestor was something every demon was familiar with.

Legend has it the previous Demon Ancestor was incredibly talented; alongside nine other Sky Demons from prestigious backgrounds, he formed the Demon God Guard.

The Demon Ancestor was both the leader of the Ten Demon God Guards and the Demon Ancestor.

At the time, the South Nether Emperor ranked second among the Demon God Guards, while the current South Nether Empress, Moonflower, ranked third.

The Demon God Guard dominated the Demon World for over a hundred years, almost ruling the whole Demon World, even making the Divine Realm wary of them.

Then suddenly, the leader of the Demon God Guard, the Demon Clansman, fell, the Demon God Guard disbanded, and it was rumored in the Demon World that the Demon Ancestor’s death was related to the South Nether Emperor and the South Nether Empress, said to be a love triangle back then.

Of course, this was all hearsay to Jiao Song, something he dared not mention before the South Nether Emperor.

However, if the rumors were false, how could the South Nether Emperor be so calm upon knowing he devoured the hearts of the Moonflower King and the Demon Ancestor, indirectly proving that the Demon Ancestor’s death indeed had something to do with the one on the throne?

Jiao Song secretly rejoiced; coming to ally himself with the South Nether Emperor was indeed a wise move.

”Come forward.”

Jiao Song, upon hearing this, quickly stepped forward.

Yet upon doing so, the South Nether Emperor extended a finger.

It was a flawless jade-like hand, more beautiful than a woman’s hand. If it hadn’t been for the fact that this hand nearly took his life earlier, Jiao Song wouldn’t believe it belonged to a man.

A finger from the South Nether Emperor landed on Jiao Song’s forehead.

When the finger landed, Jiao Song felt his Divine Soul tremble, and a chilling aura swept through him like winter frost and snow.

All memories in Jiao Song’s mind were clearly examined in an instant.

Within Jiao Song’s body, the South Nether Emperor indeed found a part of the Demon Ancestor Power.

Jiao Song stood there in shock, fearing that if the South Nether Emperor was displeased, he would extract all of the Demon Ancestor Prower from him.

But just then, the South Nether Emperor withdrew his hand.

”From now on, you will stay in South Nether City as my Near-body Guard.”

Jiao Song was overjoyed, hurriedly kowtowing in gratitude.

Once Jiao Song left, the South Nether Emperor’s eyes narrowed slightly.

His attendant seemed puzzled.

”Your Majesty, why keep such a person? Even though his cultivation isn’t bad, his bloodline is innately inferior.”

”The Demon Ancestor was cunning; a mere Four-directions Sealing Demon Array could not truly obliterate him. If he revives, he will inevitably return to the Demon World to seek flesh and Essence Blood to restore his cultivation. Keeping him is like having another bait,” the South Nether Emperor said indifferently, yet a stormy haze seemed to rise in his eyes, hinting at upcoming turmoil.
