Falling For My Alpha Stepsister (GL)

April’s POV

Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that messing with Angel like this would be so ridiculously fun.

I honestly wasn’t expecting her to show up at the orphanage tonight, but somehow, there she was. I don’t know why, but so far, the entire night has been going... how do I even put it into words?

Jelly.

A jealous Angel is surprisingly cute, completely reckless, and absolutely crazy.

Watching her lose her mind in real time was such a pure pleasure.

Every bit of the anger I had been carrying around since earlier totally vanished the second I sensed how deeply her possessiveness ran.

Standing anywhere near CJ ignited a massive fire inside her firewall.

To keep the flame going, all I did was laugh at literally whatever CJ said, whether it was actually funny or not.

I made a point not to look at Angel directly, but I swear I could physically feel the heavy, intense aura radiating from her side of the lawn.

Any romance book reader could easily recognize what was happening here.

And I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of it.

I enjoyed it right up until the exact moment she couldn’t take the pressure anymore and stepped in to force CJ away from my side.

Now she was sitting practically next to me, her face flushed bright red, acting like some crazy, furious tomato.

”What on earth are you even doing here?” I whispered, leaning in slightly so only her ears could catch my words over the garden noise.

”What am I doing here?” she repeated, defensively crossing her arms. ”I am here because Abigail sent me a text message explicitly stating that she needed my help here, it’s her wedding afterall.”

I knew for a fact she was lying through her teeth.

Abigail had already secretly texted me the real reason behind her dramatic entrance. I still couldn’t believe Abigail actually went out of her way to snap a picture of me kissing CJ during our play and send it straight to her phone. But apparently, that single photo was more than enough to make her drop everything and rush straight over to this place.

”Are you completely sure that’s the only reason you’re here, or is there another hidden reason?” I asked again, raising an eyebrow at her.

She didn’t say a single word back. She just turned her face away and stared intently at a random tree in the yard.

”You know what? Maybe Abigail should come sit over here in this chair, and I should go join CJ over there,” I murmured.

I pretended to push my chair back and stand up, but before my hips could even clear the seat, her hand shot out and forcefully yanked me right back down.

”Fuck CJ!” she exclaimed, her jaw clenching tight.

”You want me to go fuck CJ?” I teased, keeping my voice smooth.

”Over my dead body!” she snapped back instantly, her eyes flashing with heat. ”I seriously cannot believe you actually kissed that Gothic bull... why would you even do that?”

Oh, her dramatic expression was revealing absolutely everything she was trying so hard to hide. I was so thankful Abigail let me know what was going on beforehand, because otherwise, I wouldn’t have understood what Angel was truly trying to say underneath all that hostility.

I casually glanced across the lawn toward CJ, who was sitting comfortably among the other children, happily eating her dinner and laughing with them.

”Don’t you see the way she looks?” I said softly, pretending to be completely mesmerized by CJ’s style. ”Her smile is just so effortless and perfect. I honestly wish I could kiss her again.”

Angel immediately snapped her fingers right in front of my face, trying her best to break my focus and force my gaze away.

”Stop looking at her right now. Look at me.”

”You are in absolutely no position to tell me who I should or shouldn’t look at,” I reminded her coldly.

”I thought you weren’t even into Alphas,” Angel argued, leaning closer into my personal space. ”You always said you preferred Betas. That girl sitting over there is very clearly an Alpha.”

”Well, that specific Alpha is definitely my exact type, green flag...” I muttered back, tilting my head. ”She’s literally everything I look for in my book.”

”Don’t ever judge a book by its cover,” Angel warned, her voice dropping into a stern tone. ”Those exact kinds of flashy people are trouble. She is bad for you, April.”

”You’re the one who’s bad for me,” I shot back without hesitation.

She took a long, deep breath through her nose, holding it in for a second as her eyes searched my face.

Then...

”I am going to kiss you right here in front of everyone if you don’t stop looking at her, and I am dead serious about it, you know I don’t care about what people says..” she threatened, her tone deadpan.

Realizing that several nuns and guests at nearby tables were starting to glance over at us, wondering what our heated whispered conversation was all about, I decided to stop actively teasing her. I dropped my gaze back down toward the food on my plate.

”Good,” Angel said, noticing my quiet submission. ”I don’t like this crowded place anyway. Let’s go find somewhere private so we can talk properly.”

”I don’t have any desire to talk in private with someone like you who clearly belongs to the public,” I said, my tone flattening. ”Why don’t you just go back to your usual fruits and talk to them instead?”

”This is about what you told me last night,” she said, ignoring my jab. ”I want to give you my actual answer.”

”You already gave me your answer loud and clear,” I replied, staring down at my fork. ”You love eating all kinds of different foods, and I have zero intention of giving my vagina to a public cleaner.”

”Public cleaner?” she repeated slowly, the word hitting her like a sharp slap. Her face twisted in genuine insult.

”You are,” I said, rolling my eyes as I turned my head away from her to focus on eating in peace now that the playful teasing was officially over. ”And if you don’t fully understand what I mean by that, let me refresh your memory. A whore. A prostitute. The only real difference is that you don’t actually get paid to have sex.”

I expected her to snap or walk away after hearing that.

”I’m going to let that slide for now,” she said softly, her tone surprisingly quiet. ”But what if I told you that I have completely decided to be...”

She paused midway, the air hanging thick between us.

”...the whore for you. Only you?”

The exact moment those words left her mouth, I froze completely in place, blinking my eyes in total disbelief.

Like...

What on earth did I just hear her say?

Angel leaned in just a fraction closer, her gaze locking onto mine with absolute seriousness.

”I won’t eat any other fruits except yours.”
