Naruto: Naraku Grows Stronger as a Beautiful, Tragic Side Character

Chapter 287: Chapter 287: Evil is a means, not an end

The term ”villain” usually refers to a character who opposes the protagonist’s faction, and generally, they are the embodiment of darkness and evil.

From the moment Naraku created Jin, his goal was to become the most popular and charming villain in naruto.

But he never stooped to making Jin a purely flat evil character, who only relied on his looks and body to earn the jibe of ”three views follow the five senses”;

Nor could he accept playing a character like DIO or Mahito, who had no bottom line and reveled in trampling on humanity.

Jin should be three-dimensional and complex, making people both hate and love him.

To achieve this, the most crucial step is to determine the ”motive.”

For Jin, everything he does is because he wants to achieve a certain future. ”Evil deeds” and ”good deeds” are merely tools to achieve his goals, not inherent qualities hidden deep within his soul.

This character design will allow Jin to transcend the black-and-white character framework and reach a higher realm.

He does not personally break the enemy’s spine for pleasure; it is simply that only the opponent’s death can pave the way forward.

Even if he actively saves many lives, it is not due to a sudden awakening of conscience, but because he still needs their help on his path toward the future.

Just like Uchiha Madara in the original timeline, he committed both evil and good deeds, all with the sole purpose of realizing the Infinite Tsukuyomi Plan.

However, he won’t be a fool tricked by Black Zetsu.

Since he’s decided to do it, he will be the one who ultimately succeeds!

@Xiaogoudan_er: Everyone in the forums and comment section has been debating whether what Jin said to Nagato was true, and whether he secretly harmed Nagato and Naraku... If, and I mean IF!

Assuming Jin really did something to them behind the scenes, but the mission passed down through generations of Hengzhou for a thousand years is real, then the situation is that he used extremely dirty methods to achieve the noble goal of ”saving the Ninja World.”

Oh my god, that contrast is just too captivating!

Comment 1: Did a flower of evil blossom from the holy soil left by the Sage, or did a lotus of purification grow from the chaotic and filthy mud of the Ninja World? I can’t tell, I really can’t tell! Every option is so delicious!

Comment 2: Forward! Forward! Forward by any means necessary!

Comment 3: This is exactly what I love!! Jin is the perfect character, as if he was designed according to my preferences! Especially since he’s so handsome!

Comment 4: Too evil! But it’s really exciting!

Comment 5: Now that the OP mentioned it, why do I suddenly feel a little sorry for Jin? The path he’s walking is so lonely...

Comment 6: Reply to Comment 5: Only when you pass through seven layers of loneliness can you become a true strong person, and our world is born from this.

Comment 7: The character depth suddenly appeared! The Old Thief has something ready to copy again!

Naraku, after carefully reading the entire thread: There are really a lot of talented people among the audience... I feel like my underwear is about to be stripped off.

The information provided by the animation was too limited, causing ”Xiaogoudan_er” to guess wrong about Jin’s identity, but TA intuitively touched upon a bit of the deepest character setting.

Naraku silently tightened his belt in his spiritual world, then scrolled down the page.

@Unfinished_Story: It feels like everyone is arguing so fiercely, Jin Naraku shippers don’t dare to speak... Does no one really think they’re particularly shippable? I re-watched five and a half minutes over a dozen times.

Comment 1: Couldn’t agree more! Their interactions are super delicious!

Comment 2: I’m going crazy! After so many years of watching naruto, this is the first CP with this kind of feeling! He runs, he chases, he can’t escape even with wings...

Comment 3: It’s so exciting, no matter which version of the truth is being discussed in the forum, there’s a push and pull between Jin and Naraku, full of intertwined love and hate, and unfulfilled desires.

As the saying goes, a sea of love and hate, the deeper the love, the deeper the hate, a sense of destiny.

Comment 4: I admit I’m a masochist, I always fall into these pits and can’t climb out, waaaah

Comment 5: Jin Naraku Kakashi love triangle is also so good!

Comment 6: Reply to Comment 5: There’s a strong NTR vibe among the three of them... *crying-laughing.jpg*

Comment 7: Jin: ”Naraku, you wouldn’t want Kakashi to be on the battlefield... right?”

Comment 8: The Japanese netizen upstairs, please calm down.

Naraku: *Can’t bear to watch.jpg*

The remaining comments on this page weren’t as valuable as the hot comments, and further down it was mostly memes, so Naraku stopped reading and had the system skip to the next episode to continue watching.

After the new opening theme song finished, the camera came to a quiet forest, gradually moving into a camp.

Tsunade’s vibrant image appeared in the center of the screen, frowning as she reviewed the intelligence submitted over the past two days, pondering what was amiss.
