Naruto: Naraku Grows Stronger as a Beautiful, Tragic Side Character

Chapter 36: Chapter 36 ”I don’t deserve happiness.” ”Kakashi, I am very happy.”

”He Once Said He Didn’t Deserve Happiness”

1L (OP): [Video].

I cried while editing, and by the end, the screen was covered in tears.

I can’t be the only one crying so miserably!

You all have to cry with me!

For friends used to other platforms, I’ve also posted on Douyin and Bilibili, [link], [link].

2L: OP, you win, I’m sobbing uncontrollably.

3L: Teacher, you really know how to twist the knife.

4L: My friends are all laughing at me for crying so hard over a cartoon.

...9L: ”I don’t have the right to be happy.” ”Kakashi, I’m incredibly happy.”

From ”no right” to ”incredibly happy,” it’s just too tear-inducing.

10L: I am a general, I cannot read. jpg

11L: You upstairs, take off those sunglasses.

...20L: My friend, good food, come and eat! @...

21L: Reply to 20L: I don’t believe a word you say, you old scoundrel, you’re so bad, boo hoo hoo T-T

Naraku: That powerful? Then I absolutely have to check it out.

Clicking on the video, the BGM gradually awoke from the silence, flowing slowly, with a deep, gentle male voice softly singing.

Various clips selected by the editor flashed by quickly, showing Naraku injured, trembling, and with vacant eyes, layered with his father’s violence and bullying from his peers.

[Father, why...]

In front of the mirror, Naraku pushed aside his long hair, revealing a scarred face and lifeless, numb eyes.

[I remember now]

People came and went, but he was like a stone in a flowing stream; all the sweet dew flowed past him, and he just stood there silently.

[It’s all my fault]

The music gradually faded, and in the screen, Naraku slowly lowered his head. Everything was also turned to black and white, then gradually blurred.

[I don’t have the right to be happy.]

After an extreme silence, the music began to play again, little by little, like light blooming.

Amidst the overwhelming sunset glow, Kakashi stood on the riverbank, slowly sheathing his sword, his gaze fixed on Naraku, with a faint concern.

Kakashi’s figure was reflected in his pure black eyes, and the small body seemed as tall as a god.

Then came many shots of Naraku looking at Kakashi, his gaze so focused and devout.

He was no longer covered in scars, dazed and confused. His smiling, gentle appearance gradually covered his past memories, and the screen became more vibrant.

[Only Master and you don’t care about these things]

In the sunlight, he pushed back his long hair to reveal his forehead. His face was clean, fair, and intact, showing no trace of his previous wounds.

[So, I’m incredibly happy now]

In the sun-filled courtyard, Naraku threw himself into Sakumo’s arms, gently inhaling the sunlight and wind that filled him.

[Kakashi, I’m incredibly happy]

The scene returned to the end of the latest episode, Naraku and Kakashi’s eye contact.

He looked at Kakashi, slowly smiling, his eyes sparkling with light.

The song returned to calm, the last line gently gliding over the audience’s hearts, bringing a faint shiver.

After watching the video that the OP had spent a great deal of time, effort, and genuine emotion editing, Naraku was still moved.

After all, when he said he was very happy, he meant it.

But he had just abandoned his conscience, so he only moved slightly before ruthlessly backing out.

Naraku: Keep up the good work, strive for excellence! When it comes to abusing body and mind, I’m the best!

Scrolling further down, there were several more short edits, each with a long string of crying comments beneath them.

The content was largely similar, but the techniques and details each had their own merits.

After appreciating these videos, Naraku picked a few popular fanfiction posts, clicked on each one, ready to see how those talented writers were messing with him and Kakashi.

”Congenital Analgesia (Kakashi x Naraku)”

”Sunflower Chasing the Moon (Kakashi x Naraku)”

”Starlight of the Stars and Moon (Kakashi x Naraku)”

”[Viewing Theme] Past Ninja Watch Future Konoha”

”[Crossover Viewing Theme] Does Blackened Naraku Dream of Angel Hatake?”

...After reading them all, Naraku covered his chest: Good heavens, you guys are truly ruthless. I’m still too kind, when it comes to tormenting people, it has to be these fanfiction writers.

Feeling a little disheartened, Naraku withdrew from those stories. He was about to look for some plot discussion posts to see what new discoveries the prophets had made, but amidst a slew of kakanaru stories, he saw a post stubbornly standing in the middle.

The post title: ”Journey of Life (Sakumo x Naraku)”.

Naraku: No, brother, how am I supposed to face Sakumo after this?

Decisively ignored.

He scrolled down and finally found a few new plot discussion posts.

”Konoha Has Been Peaceful for Too Long, It’s Time for Political Struggles”

1L (OP): From the perspective of historical development, Konoha Village has been established for so many years, and it’s time for us to see some internal strife.

In fact, Uchiha Fugaku’s actions already hint at this.

He drew Naraku in not just because of his strong talent, but also because Naraku is Sakumo’s only disciple.

With White Fang’s prestige, it would be easy to gain the support of his subordinates.

The Uchiha Clan, united with Sakumo Hatake, would be a very strong force within Konoha, even capable of deciding the next Hokage.

Therefore, we are likely to see the most intense political struggle since the beginning of Hokage.

2L: That’s right, after external crises are resolved, internal strife is inevitable.

3L: Actually, the Uchiha are a targeted and disadvantaged group in Konoha. Many background characters complain about how the Uchiha are.

4L: Hard not to support... — —

Naraku: Where did this analysis freak come from?

Clicking into the personal page of the OP, ”Thirteen Seat”, good heavens, the previous post ”Kakashi’s Arch-Nemesis Prediction” was also posted by him, and many plots in older posts had also been guessed correctly by him.

He was known as the Hokage Forum’s Prophet.

Naraku: Indeed, there are only wrong names, never wrong nicknames.

”Why Has Naraku Not Yet Exposed His Awakened Eye in Public?”

1L (OP): As per the title, if the Uchiha Clan knew that Naraku had already awakened his One-Tomoe Sharingan, they would certainly cultivate him with all their might, as from ancient times until now, very few have awakened their Sharingan at this age.

There are probably two reasons.

One is that Naraku is too young and lacks Chakra. Even if he awakens his Sharingan, he won’t be able to maintain it for long, and it would instead deplete his Chakra faster, making it more of a loss than a gain.

But this doesn’t explain why even the Uchiha Clan doesn’t know. If they knew, they wouldn’t just give Naraku Ninjutsu scrolls; they should find someone to teach him how to use the Sharingan.

The second is to keep a low profile. After graduating early, he will often go out of the village on missions. If the fact that he has awakened his One-Tomoe Sharingan is exposed, it is very likely to attract assassination attempts from hostile forces.

After all, no one in Sand, Cloud, Mist, or Stone wants to see another ”Ninja World Shura” appear in Konoha.

Based on these two considerations, Naraku has not even reported it to his own clan. Only the Hatake Father and Son know about this matter.

2L: I don’t think it’s Naraku’s idea. It’s highly likely that Sakumo had these considerations, so he forbade Naraku from using his One-Tomoe Sharingan.

3L: During this Chunin Exams, will he encounter an emergency situation where he has no choice but to use his Sharingan? And then the truth is revealed...

4L: Reply to 3L: A bit cliché, but not impossible.

5L: Perhaps Sakumo has deeper reasons... ones we haven’t thought of yet.

6L: Holy cow, a prophet is here! Don’t scare me!

...13L: I think the OP has already explained it very clearly, what else is there to discuss... — —

Naraku continued to read a few plot posts but didn’t find any more useful information.

Exiting the forum, he glanced at the clock. It was already very late, so Naraku quickly closed his eyes and went to sleep.

If he didn’t sleep, his training tomorrow wouldn’t be effective...
