Chapter 1327: Chapter 38: Razed to the Ground

Sea of All Nations, Cake Island, inside a vast bedroom.

Loud snoring echoed, and on an egg tart-shaped bed, a plump woman nearly nine meters tall was sound asleep. This large physique was definitely beyond what normal human beings could achieve.

This woman was named Charlotte Linlin, one of the Four Emperors of the New World, and the only female pirate among them. She had 43 husbands, 46 sons, and 39 daughters.

Charlotte Linlin slept soundly. Recently, she had been troubled by many issues, which caused her to lose a few pounds, but given her weight, no one could really notice.

”Hmm?”

Charlotte Linlin suddenly opened her eyes and sat up with a whoosh.

Kaka!

With the crisp sound, the egg tart-shaped bed collapsed beneath her. With a swiftness impossible for someone of her build, Charlotte Linlin sat up, rushing straight in a certain direction.

Amid continuous rumbling, Charlotte Linlin crashed through over a dozen walls and burst out of Cake Castle. Meanwhile, several figures also rushed out from inside Cake Castle.

Boom!!

An explosion shook the skies, forcing Charlotte Linlin to stop in her tracks as a hot wave of air pressure hit her head-on.

When the hot wave receded, Cake Island was as bright as daylight, and dazzling flames illuminated the entire island.

On the neighboring island named Soda Cake, blazing red flames enveloped the island, which housed a significant number of Homies soldiers. It had turned into a sea of fire.

”Who is it!!”

Charlotte Linlin ground her flat teeth, making a kaka sound, her anger reaching its peak.

”Mama.”

Several of her children rushed to her side. Charlotte Linlin turned to look at these children, her gaze filled with murderous intent.

”Is it those guys again?”

Her first thought was of the unknown force, believing Kudu was responsible for this.

”For the... for now, it’s still uncertain.”

Charlotte Opera trembled; he was Charlotte Linlin’s fifth son, the Minister of Cream, and looked like a blob of melting cream.

”Find out immediately,” Big Mom’s anger subsided somewhat, and she continued, ”Has Smoothie found them yet?”

”It seems she hasn’t found them yet.”

Charlotte Opera swallowed hard. Though he wasn’t involved, his mother might vent her anger on him, a raging Big Mom recognizing no kin.

”What’s the situation in Dressrosa?”

Big Mom demanded a piece of good news to brighten her mood.

”Uh~”

Charlotte Opera hesitated to speak.

”Tell me!”

Big Mom glared angrily, seemingly ready to ’righteously betray her kin.’

”It seems, it seems, Dressrosa hasn’t been conquered yet.”

”...”

The fat on Big Mom’s face twitched.

”Bring me dessert.”

”Eh~”

Charlotte Opera had the urge to flee.

”Mama, well, this, the explosion just now... has already destroyed most of the cake ingredient reserves, and our weapons and ammunition as well...”

”What did you say! Who told you to store the cake ingredients on Soda Cake Island? You...”

Big Mom paused halfway through her words, suddenly recalling that she had designated Soda Cake Island as a material reserve point. Now, Big Mom wanted to kill someone for relief as she scanned her surroundings, but all nearby were her biological children, and it seemed wasteful to kill them.

Polulu, polulu, polulu...

The unique sound of the Telephone Worm arose. Holding a Telephone Worm, Big Mom’s nineteenth son Mont-d’Or hurried over, and the attire of the Telephone Worm bore some resemblance to Doflamingo.

Sensing Mont-d’Or approaching with the Telephone Worm, Big Mom’s face turned instantly grim. Without a word, she moved forward and with a wave of her large hand, everyone except Mont-d’Or retreated.

Kaga.

Big Mom answered the Telephone Worm, remaining silent, and the Worm reciprocated the silence.

”Did you do it?”

Big Mom glanced at the still-blazing Soda Cake Island, her expression cold as water.

”I did it.”

Doflamingo’s voice came through the Telephone Worm.

”Kid, do you really want to die that much?”

”BIG MOM, even if I didn’t do this, it seems you weren’t planning to let me go anyway. Recently, Katakuri has been ’greeting’ me quite often.”

”Hand over the Artificial Devil Fruit early, and I wouldn’t have sent people to greet you.”

As the aggressor, Big Mom’s tone was unusually overbearing; such is the way of the Four Emperors or, more specifically, Charlotte Lingling.

”If I hand over the Artificial Devil Fruit, Kaido won’t let me go, and you won’t help shield me from him either.”

”Hmph.”

Big Mom snorted coldly, and silence fell between the two sides once again.

”I don’t want things to escalate to an uncontrollable level.”

Doflamingo broke the silence, and just as Big Mom was about to lash out, Mondor shook his head swiftly.

Mondor, known as the document officer of the Big Mom Pirate Group, has abilities that allow him to control books, and Big Mom trusts him. He is responsible for guarding many important locations.

Seeing Mondor continuously shaking his head, Big Mom temporarily contained her anger. She realized the reason for Mondor’s reaction; her pirate group, though seeming active, was in a precarious situation.

”Those bombs could have been dropped on Cake Island, instead of destroying an island storing supplies.”

Doflamingo’s meaning was clear: he didn’t want to completely break ties with Big Mom.

Tonight, departing from Dressrosa were Buffalo and Bubu Wang. Buffalo, who has flying abilities, carried Bubu Wang into the sky above the Totlan Sea Area, where Bubu Wang dropped a total of five Apollos.

If the situation in Dressrosa wasn’t critical, Su Xiao would certainly have Bubu Wang drop these five Apollos on Cake Island for Big Mom to enjoy their ’big surprise.’

Upon hearing Su Xiao’s initial plan, Doflamingo’s expression was quite revealing. Internally, he wondered, ”Is Bai Ye really an ally?”

Once Apollos are dropped on Cake Island, it would be a situation of no retreat, with no room for reconciliation.

Death in war is normal, but if your home base is destroyed, that’s another concept entirely; that’s annihilation.

With Doflamingo’s strong objection, the location was eventually set on Soda Island, which is very close to Cake Island, allowing Big Mom to experience Apollo’s power up close.

”Kid, don’t be too arrogant; this time, it was my win.”

When Charlotte Lingling said this, the fat on her face twisted.

”That’s right, you won.”

Doflamingo is a very shrewd person; he understood what Big Mom wanted. What she wanted was face, a victory to announce to the outside world.

Does Doflamingo long for victory? No, he yearns for it, but in terms of overall strength, he can’t defeat the Big Mom Pirate Group. The gap in hard strength is clear; if it really came down to it, and Big Mom stormed Dressrosa regardless of anything, Dressrosa’s sinking wouldn’t be far off.

”Let’s talk.”

Doflamingo spoke. Although he couldn’t achieve victory, after clashing with the Big Mom Pirate Group, he managed to protect his own territory, though for now, it was surrounded by Katakuri and his men.

”Tomorrow, in the Rest Sea Area.”

Obviously, Big Mom didn’t want to continue fighting, not because she couldn’t handle the Donquixote Family but because she was worried about continued bombardment from above.

These factors are only part of the reason; the real reason Big Mom wants to cease-fire is the unknown forces roaming her territory.

”There must be an arbitrator for the meeting.”

Doflamingo’s tone also relaxed considerably.

”An arbitrator? You don’t trust my credibility?”

On hearing Big Mom’s words, not just Doflamingo, even Big Mom’s son Mondor’s expression stiffened.

”Red Hair as an arbitrator, I will contact him. He wants the New World to calm down more than anyone. He contacted me earlier.”

”Fine.”

Big Mom hung up the Telephone Worm. At this moment, her expression was beyond terrifying.

”Donquixote Doflamingo, Donquixote...”

Repeating Doflamingo’s surname, Big Mom crushed the Telephone Worm in her hand. The shattered shell, along with bits of meat, squeezed out from between her fingers.

...

Dressrosa, inside a villa.

Doflamingo put down the Telephone Worm and took a deep breath.

”Tomorrow, negotiation, compensation.”

Doflamingo had never longed for power as he did at that moment. However, becoming a powerhouse like Big Mom isn’t something that can be achieved through effort alone.

”Will Red Hair act as the arbitrator?”

Su Xiao only partially understood Red Hair’s personality, so he couldn’t confirm whether Red Hair would be willing to step in.

”Of course, Red Hair wants the New World to settle more than anyone. He needs time, not territory. I contacted him half an hour ago, and he agreed without asking for any compensation.”

Doflamingo sighed and continued, ”Tomorrow, we will negotiate with Big Mom in the Rest Sea Area. Red Hair and Big Mom will be present.”

The Rest Sea Area is an area outside Big Mom’s territory, relatively close to Dressrosa, with the Whitebeard Pirates’ territory nearby.
