Chapter 1315: Chapter 26: Mochi Fruit

Katakuri and Doflamingo stopped their duel. Su Xiao stood at the edge of the mochi area, refraining from stepping in for the time being.

Before confirming something, Su Xiao would never recklessly get close to Katakuri; specifically, whether Blue Steel Shadow was effective against Devil Fruit Users, or whether activating Blue Steel Shadow would allow him to injure Katakuri.

Katakuri’s body could transform into mochi, rendering ordinary cleaves ineffective. Blue Steel Shadow’s ability damages the enemy, then annihilates energy within the enemy’s body, causing True Damage.

Su Xiao seriously doubted whether cleaving through Katakuri’s mochi form counted as damaging the enemy. If it didn’t, Blue Steel Shadow wouldn’t work, leaving him helpless against Katakuri. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

Katakuri’s Mochi Fruit was troublesome; this Paramecia Devil Fruit was even more precious than most Natural Devil Fruits.

In most cases, the value of a Devil Fruit is ranked Natural > Paramecia > Zoan.

This isn’t an absolute ranking; some Mythical Zoan Fruits are even more precious than Natural Fruits. However, starting combat strength with a Devil Fruit is mostly strongest with Natural Fruits.

Paramecia Fruits have high potential; most top-level fighters possess Paramecia Fruits, like Whitebeard, Golden Lion (at his peak), Bonney Waldo (at his peak).

Initially, the abilities of these individuals were unimpressive, but their strength allowed these Paramecia Fruits to have world-destroying capabilities.

There’s no strongest fruit, only the strongest user; although this phrase isn’t entirely accurate, it largely holds true.

Katakuri’s Mochi Fruit is a very perfect fruit ability. Paramecia Fruits have high potential, not to mention this fruit has abilities similar to ’Elementalization.’

Mochi’s elasticity, adhesiveness, and plasticity have all been developed to the extreme by Katakuri.

D·Assassin appeared in Su Xiao’s hand, and he fired two shots at Katakuri’s head.

Bang, bang...

Red light flickered in Katakuri’s eyes. The next moment, he suddenly tilted his head to dodge, twisting his body into an almost eerie angle, with his waist already transformed into mochi.

The bullet flew past Katakuri’s ear, the experiment failing. Su Xiao could only put away D·Assassin, having originally planned to create a Silent Field around Katakuri, but was thwarted by his foresight.

No wonder Doflamingo got beaten so badly; Katakuri’s agility during evasion and use of his Devil Fruit Abilities makes it impossible to harm him without overwhelming speed.

Doflamingo slowly approached Su Xiao, whispering, ”You distract him first, I’ll take down Charlotte Cracker. This is an opportunity that can’t be missed.”

”You want a researcher to hold back one of the Big Mom Pirate Group’s Sweet Commanders?”

Su Xiao looked at Doflamingo with a smile, while Doflamingo’s forehead veins bulged.

”I don’t understand Armament Haki, I can’t hold him back at all.”

”?”

Doflamingo was surprised, puzzled about why Su Xiao, given his strength, hadn’t mastered Armament Haki.

”That’s the reality. You hold him off, I’ll deal with Charlotte Cracker. Like before, once he supports Charlotte Cracker, you’ll have the chance to injure him.”

Su Xiao wasn’t greedy for Cracker’s treasure chest; he simply couldn’t determine if Blue Steel Shadow could injure Katakuri.

”All right.”

Doflamingo perhaps didn’t want to face Katakuri alone anymore; continuing like this, he’d end up dead today.

”Charlotte Cracker’s location is...”

With a bang, mochi beneath Katakuri’s feet splashed as he charged directly at the two.

Su Xiao and Doflamingo leaped to either side, with Katakuri’s forward momentum momentarily slowing before he turned to pounce on Su Xiao.

”Hold him off!”

Doflamingo shouted loudly while rushing into the large mochi area.

Katakuri instantly charged in front of Su Xiao, with his right arm transformed into mochi, allowing it to bend at an exaggerated angle.

Armament Haki wrapped Katakuri’s right arm as he punched toward Su Xiao. Su Xiao had no intention of dodging; his opponent could foresee the future, making evasion meaningless.

A 700-point strength energy shield appeared in front of Su Xiao, and Katakuri punched the energy shield.

After Su Xiao’s Blue Steel Shadow reached Level 40, the energy shield’s strength limit increased to 700 points; 700-point strength is fundamentally different from 600 points.

Bang!

The ground beneath Su Xiao’s feet shook, and extensive cracks appeared on the energy shield; a force penetrated the shield, coursing into Su Xiao’s body.

Su Xiao’s organs ached slightly inside his chest cavity; he immediately removed the energy shield, with Blue Steel Shadow energy clinging to Dragon Slash, the long knife slicing toward Katakuri’s knees.

Facing Katakuri, who stood five meters tall, aiming for the neck was simply unrealistic. As long as the large physique isn’t cumbersome, it’s an undeniable advantage.

As soon as Su Xiao unsheathed his sword, Katakuri leaped, his legs transformed into mochi, kicking straight toward Su Xiao’s face.

Just as the long knife cleaved halfway, Su Xiao immediately withdrew the blade, placing Blue Steel Shadow horizontally in front of him.

At this moment, Katakuri’s body rotated mid-air, his mochi-transformed legs flexible as he bypassed Dragon Slash, aiming for Su Xiao’s face from the side.

Intuition ability immediately warned him, with Su Xiao’s forearm wrapped in metal armguards blocking the side of his face.

As he anticipated Katakuri’s attack to fall, a sense of crisis arose at his feet, where unbeknownst to him, a mass of mochi entangled his leg.

Katakuri’s arm transformed into mochi, wrapped in Armament Haki, punched directly into Su Xiao’s abdomen.

With a cracking sound, the energy shield around Su Xiao’s abdomen shattered, sending him flying with a swoosh, crashing straight into a massive rock.

This was Katakuri, able to foresee and exploit enemy defenses, utilizing his mochi-transformed body to continuously alter his attack position until the enemy was unavoidably hit.

If Su Xiao hadn’t possessed Intuition ability, he would’ve been kicked away by Katakuri’s U-shaped kick earlier, unable to withstand until Katakuri punched.

Indeed, Katakuri had previously kicked out a U-shaped angle, avoiding Dragon Slash while still hitting Su Xiao’s head; Su Xiao’s arm block made Katakuri abandon that strike, opting instead to bind Su Xiao’s actions with mochi and punch his abdomen.

Regarding the energy shield formed on Su Xiao’s abdomen, Katakuri foresaw it was inevitable; no matter where he attacked, this energy layer would block it.

Su Xiao held Katakuri off for a few seconds, while Doflamingo had already rushed into the large mochi area, with threads flying and mochi splattering, searching for Cracker.

Doflamingo wasn’t truly intent on killing Cracker? Not exactly, Doflamingo may not have heard of ’Besiege Wei to Rescue Zhao,’ but he clearly understood its meaning; if both were entangled by Katakuri, that would be the worst outcome.

Just as Su Xiao was punched into the rock, Katakuri swiftly chased after Doflamingo.

Suo Xiao emerged from the stone’s ruptured opening with blood spilling from the corner of his mouth; Katakuri was excessively powerful.

”Cough, cough, cough...”

Su Xiao coughed repeatedly. Though he took a punch, he discovered something very interesting; throughout the ordeal, Katakuri was always evading Dragon Slash.
