Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 3148: Chapter 3146: Afraid to Ask

”Dad, do you think she’ll do something?” Yu Ze asked Chu Molin after he saw Su Han leaving angrily.

”Forget about her, as long as we’re all fine, we’ll deal with other matters when they happen,” Chu Molin replied. If he wasn’t here with the two children, he would have gone looking for his wife already, rather than stand around listening to her complain.

He felt that someone was pushing things from behind, that everything revolved around their family. If they didn’t pay attention, who knows what things would turn out to be.

”That makes sense.” Yu Ze nodded, not finding anything unusual about his father’s attitude.

Since it was just the three of them, his behavior didn’t seem inappropriate to anyone.

But beyond that, he still needed to be cautious, as mixed signals could make his behavior appear overreactive.

No matter how much hope one holds, it’s better not to have too much, or else disappointment will follow.

Of course, this isn’t to say they can’t hope for Qin Xue, just not for Su Han; otherwise, their family would be waiting for nothing.

They were unaware of any of this because, in their hearts, Qin Xue was not dead.

This was their best manifestation, for with love in their hearts, all the waiting was worthwhile.

”Brother, is that Auntie trying to marry Dad?” Yu Chen, feeling something yet unsure, asked after hearing his father’s respectful words.

”Are you forgetting about Mom?” Yu Ze wanted to flick him on the forehead. What does it mean when that Auntie wants to marry Dad? Do you know what that means?

But seeing his brother’s innocent expression, Yu Ze refrained from hitting him.

”I miss Mom, I don’t want that Auntie. Dad, please don’t be with that Auntie, okay?” Yu Chen had heard from others that stepmothers could be very mean, hitting people and not feeding them.

That’s why he resisted; the shadow of a stepmother had deeply rooted itself in his heart.

So now, not wanting anything else as Su Han sought their father since their mother wasn’t around.

Especially at a time like this, he just wanted his mother to come back quickly.

”Silly boy, what are you thinking? I only want your mom, I don’t want anyone else. Don’t overthink, okay?” Chu Molin hadn’t expected his youngest son would ask him that.

”That’s good. I was worrying for several days,” Yu Chen said, having felt something since their mother disappeared but showed no special emotions. He was afraid because Su Han kept visiting them, and now witnessing today’s situation, he dared to ask.

Having received the answer he wanted, he felt calm inside.

”Yu Chen, remember we only have your mom as the female head of our family. No one else will be part of our family, you got that?” Chu Molin thought it best to tell the children so they wouldn’t misunderstand and let it affect them as they grew.

”Dad, I got it. Don’t worry, if I’m ever unsure, I’ll ask you,” Yu Chen assured, feeling relieved after understanding his father’s thoughts. Though situations like these weren’t unheard of, he pondered how to lead a good life.

To a certain extent, what he said was due to his father; the absence of intent to bring a stepmother into their lives was enough.
