“I’m looking forward to it.” Nangong Beiying looked around, really appreciating the place, mainly because it had no pollution and the air was good. Nangong Beiying took a deep breath. People really needed air like this. The smog in the modern world was simply too heavy, seriously harming people’s health, yet there seemed to be no effective solution to alleviate it.

“Qin Xue, when did you get back?” Qing Zhu came out to dry her baby’s diapers and saw Qin Xue’s figure from a distance. At first, she thought she might be mistaken, but upon closer look, it really was Qin Xue.

“Qing Zhu, it’s been a while. How have you been lately?” Qin Xue hadn’t expected to run into Qing Zhu from this distance either.

“All is well. I was planning to visit you in the Imperial Capital in the next few days. I didn’t expect you’d be back sooner.” Now that Qing Zhu’s leg was better and her confinement period was over, she was thinking of getting back to work.

“We’ve got some business to attend to, so we’ll have to leave tomorrow. Our time is pretty tight, so we came to visit you and your baby.” Qin Xue explained her purpose for coming. Otherwise, she was worried that Qing Zhu would go to the Imperial Capital later and wouldn’t know who to contact.

“That works, just arrange it well. Otherwise, I may have to accompany you. I’ve been thinking a lot recently, with some past events resurfacing in my mind. I think I might be of some use.” Qing Zhu felt that her memory was slowly recovering. She was just missing one piece of the puzzle, which would occasionally bring certain scenes to mind.

“Is that so? I was actually planning to bring my sisters over to perform acupuncture on you. Seeing your recovery progress, it seems it’s not necessary.” Qin Xue hadn’t expected Qing Zhu’s recovery to be this good.

“Yeah, it seems there’s no need for it. Let’s go inside and sit. I’ll pour some water for you.” After her confinement period, Qing Zhu had a stove set up here and had Nangong Shulan help her find a kettle. She usually boiled water herself, and only ate meals with Qin Xue’s family.

So now when Qin Xue and others came, she had water to offer them. Otherwise, she would feel bad for not being a good host.

“Where’s Yuran? I want to see the little girl. Oh, Qing Zhu, this is my sister, Nangong Beiying. She’s a good friend of mine, and also my cousin. The last time I said I would take you to the Imperial Capital, it was so that you could work with her.” Qin Xue introduced Nangong Beiying to Qing Zhu.

“Nice to meet you, I am Qing Zhu.” Qing Zhu naturally extended her hand towards Nangong Beiying and then introduced herself.

“Nice to meet you, Nangong Beiying.” Nangong Beiying’s reaction to Qing Zhu was not as warm as her reaction to Qin Xue, reverting to her usual aloofness.

“Is your actual name Qing Zhu? Don’t you have any other names?” Nangong Beiying suddenly asked as she shook her hand.

“I’m not sure. I injured my head and can’t remember things from the past. So, I honestly don’t know.” Having lost her previous memories, Qing Zhu had no idea if she had another name. After all, she had chosen the name Qing Zhu herself when Qin Xue took her in.

“Yingying, is something wrong?” Qin Xue was unsure why Nangong Beiying was asking such a question, since she had already mentioned Qing Zhu’s injury and proposed acupuncture treatment.

“It’s nothing, she just reminds me of Chenchen.” Nangong Beiying paused before revealing what was on her mind.

“Chenchen? Who’s that? Is it me?” Qing Zhu pointed to herself, questioning Qin Xue and Nangong Beiying. If that was the case, did they know her? If so, shouldn’t Qin Xue have recognized her when they first met? But things hadn’t turned out that way.
