Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1473: Chapter 1467: Moved_1 Chapter 1473: Chapter 1467: Moved_1 Xiao Qi slackened his grip on the keys, flung it onto the ground, and leaned against the door as he sat down. He closed his eyes and fell asleep right there.

Having completed her work, Nangong Beiying went to Qin Xue’s house. She had said she’d visit in the afternoon, so she went there early to avoid being late.

From a distance, she noticed that something seemed off at Xiao Qi’s doorstep. As she moved closer, she was surprised to find him sitting there. She wondered why he was sitting outside his own house instead of going in.

Nangong Beiying recalled the events from the afternoon and decided not to greet him. But as she drew closer, she stopped – he had been drinking. His strong smell of alcohol made her ponder how much he had drunk to reek so heavily.

Nangong Beiying was torn. If she left him unattended, he might catch a cold from sleeping outside. But if she tried to talk to him in this state, he wouldn’t understand a word.

Unable to make a decision, and without anyone to help her since she had come alone, Nangong Beiying knew she had no choice but to handle this on her own.

After much deliberation, she walked over and stooped down in front of him. Taking a deep sigh, she picked up the keys from the ground, unlocked the door, and hoisted him onto her shoulder with some effort. She couldn’t help but feel like she was paying off some karmic debt from a past life.

She reluctantly placed him on the bed, took a glance around the room and was surprised to find it quite tidy – not at all like a typical bachelor’s place. She had not expected such a macho man to be so efficient at housekeeping.

She couldn’t help but think that the woman who ended up marrying him would indeed be very lucky. But this thought brought a sudden heaviness to her heart.

Every time she thought about him being with other women, she felt a strange sense of discomfort. She sighed, thinking, “Am I not only not with him but also not allowing others to be with him?”

Nangong Beiying glanced at Xiao Qi, then headed to the bathroom to fetch a basin of hot water to wash his face.

“Xiao Qi, are you the reason I’m here?” Nangong Beiying traced the contours of his face with her hands, realizing that her feelings for him were growing. But the thought of what she had to do next made her hesitate. She wondered, “Xiao Qi, what should I do about you?”

“Yingying, please don’t reject me. I truly love you.” Xiao Qi was dreaming about Nangong Beiying. No matter how vehemently he begged her, she ignored him and drifted further and further away. He was restless, wondering why she wouldn’t accept his affection. He’d never been so desperate, but even after all his pleading, she still remained distant. His heart ached.

“You fool,” Nangong Beiying murmured, startled by his sudden talking. However, she realized he was just sleep talking.

Nangong Beiying gazed at him, remembering Qin Xue’s words. Then, she did something she could hardly believe.

Nangong Beiying bent down to kiss Xiao Qi’s lips – the same lips that had kissed her twice before and left her both times utterly bewildered.

This time, it was her turn to kiss him, to see if it would feel any different. She mimicked how Xiao Qi had kissed her.

The very next instant, Nangong Beiying opened her eyes wide. Xiao Qi was also looking at her, his gaze fixed and unblinking.

All of a sudden Nangong Beiying panicked, she straightened up to pull away, but Xiao Qi was faster, trapping her in his hold. A sigh of satisfaction escaped him, “Finally, I’ve captured you.”
