Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1057: Chapter 1051: Who Will the Child Sleep With_1

Qin Xue was wondering about the current situation of the two children, given that they had been out of the house for quite some time.

“Xiao Yu, who did the children sleep with? Did they fuss when we weren’t at home?” Qin Xue asked her little brother.

“They both slept with that little missy, Xue Ling. I really don’t know what’s the matter – they wouldn’t sleep with anyone else, only this young girl. We were worried if she could handle them, but Fang Xiu assured us it was fine and let Xue Ling take care of them. So everyone at home had no other choice but to let her.” Qin Yu recalled how he had planned to sleep with the kids last night but they ignored him.

“Sleeping with Xue Ling? That’s fine.” Hearing this, Qin Xue was no longer worried. Xue Ling had been the primary carer for them since their infancy, and it was fine for the children to sleep with her. Even though others may not be familiar with Xue Ling, Qin Xue had a good understanding of her, as did Chu Molin. Hence, the couple was not worried.

On the other hand, Jing Xin was puzzled since he didn’t know who Xue Ling was, but he didn’t voice his question.

The three of them bathed and went to rest. They were really exhausted. After several restless days, they finally relaxed and fell asleep shortly after returning home.

The next day was New Year’s Eve and also Qin Jiale’s birthday. Qin Jiale got up early to buy tofu as she wanted to eat stuffed tofu. She used to enjoy this indulgence only on her birthday, so out of habit, she bought tofu on her birthday this year.

“Mom, I’ve bought the tofu, and some water tofu too.” Qin Jiale shouted as she reached the doorstep,

“Lower your voice, your sister and brother-in-law are resting. Don’t wake them up!” Nangong Shulan scolded upon hearing her younger daughter’s voice. She didn’t want her elder daughter, who had arrived late last night and hadn’t had a good rest, to be disturbed.

“Mom, did Sister come back? When did they come back? How did I not know?” Qin Jiale was initially a little upset about being scolded, but when she heard that it was because her sister and brother-in-law were resting, she wasn’t upset anymore.

“They came back just before dawn. I see you are craving for something again.” Nangong Shulan figured out her younger daughter’s intentions upon seeing what she had brought back.

“Hehe, Mom, you’re the best.” Qin Jiale grinned, admitting her craving. It was something she was accustomed to. In their family, no matter how difficult life was, the children could make special food requests on their birthdays, which the parents would fulfill.

The reason Qin Jiale loved fried tofu was that it was crispy and delicious. The stuffed tofu was filled with minced meat and starch, which she found to be the most delicious food. Thus, she looked forward to eating it every year.

After hearing her mother’s words, she felt a bit embarrassed. She couldn’t figure out whether it was because she still craved for food now that she was grown up, or there was some other reason.

“Alright, don’t feel embarrassed. Once our family’s conditions improve, tell me whatever you want to eat, and I’ll cook it for you. You three siblings have had a hard time all these years.” Nangong Shulan said to her younger daughter. She and her husband didn’t have much to offer and couldn’t give their children a good life.

However, they tried their best to meet their children’s needs, which were only expressed on their birthdays. The three children were all very sensible and never made excessive demands. This made Nangong Shulan and Qin Lei both happy and sad. Now that their lives were better, they obviously wanted the children to eat well and not to be so frugal.
