Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 135: Chapter 130 Harmonica of the Summoner (5-in-1, 10,000-word Chapter, extra update for Alliance Leader Zhe Yun)_5

Alka then directly entered the Magic Mirror.

This blue dot’s difficulty level was Adult, which meant there wasn’t much danger involved.

”I’ll go down first. You two stay up here and cover me.”

Hearing Alka’s words, both of them nodded in agreement.

Alka began to climb down the adjacent cliff face.

After descending for a while, he saw a dark cave entrance and went directly inside.

The entrance wasn’t large, and with his Dark Vision, he could see the bottom at a glance.

There was a set of skeletal remains leaning against the wall.

Alka slowly approached. Judging by the posture of the remains, the person seemed to have been clutching their abdomen before dying.

The remains hadn’t turned into an animated skeleton. The blue dot on them suggested this person had likely been a ’Contacter,’ yet there was no Evil Spirit.

So, it was quite possible they hadn’t died from a dark eruption; they had either died before it or had come here and passed away long after the eruption.

As the Dark Element receded, those who died here no longer turned into skeletons or Evil Spirits.

This was the central area, and the Dark Element had receded about 200 years ago.

Alka pondered for a moment and refocused his attention.

The blue dot was precisely an item beside the skeletal remains’ left thigh. It was roughly palm-sized and had a faint blue, glowing outline.

Alka picked it up.

Looking at the item in his hand, which had now lost its blue outline, it was about palm-sized. He vigorously rubbed the dirt off it with his sleeve.

Fortunately, the dirt wasn’t too stubborn. Thinking about it, this dirt might be...

Forget it, I shouldn’t dwell on it.

This appeared to be a harmonica. Its material was unknown, but it was adorned with a string of Gemstones and intricately carved patterns.

Though still somewhat filthy, its exquisite appearance couldn’t be concealed.

Its appearance alone suggested it was valuable. As for what special Magic abilities it held, Alka couldn’t discern them yet.

After studying it for a long time, Alka still couldn’t figure out its purpose.

He looked at the skeletal remains before him.

”I don’t know how you died or why you died here, but since I’ve taken your relic, I’m obligated to ensure you have a proper burial.”

As Alka spoke, a cloth bag appeared in his hand, and he placed the skeletal remains into it.

He then left the cave and climbed back up the cliff.

Chadite had been watching his movements. Upon seeing Alka ascend, she extended her hand and pulled him up.

Alka dusted himself off and handed the harmonica to Chadite for identification, hoping she could figure out what it was.

Then, he started digging a pit in the nearby mud.

”What are you doing?” Pororo asked curiously, standing beside him.

Hearing this, Alka pointed to the bag of remains at his feet. ”Laying him to rest. I took his relic, so helping him with his final affairs is only right.”

”Then why not simply throw him into the sea?”

According to merfolk tradition and their beliefs, the deceased should return to the ocean.

Hearing this, Alka continued his work, explaining without turning his head, ”He’s human, and he died here. This vast sea area around is mostly populated by followers of the Holy Mother, who emphasize burial in the earth.”

Thus, this person’s custom in life was likely burial.

Even if not, so what? He can’t talk anyway.

It’s good enough that I’m taking care of his remains.

Alka then buried the skeletal remains in the pit, covering them with soil.

Nearby, Chadite was still carefully inspecting the harmonica in her hand, then she reluctantly shook her head.

”No good. I have no idea what special abilities this harmonica has.”

She had studied it for a long time but couldn’t discern any abilities related to Spells from the harmonica; the Spells inscribed within were incredibly well hidden.

”I don’t know what this is, but judging by the craftsmanship and intricacy, it’s undoubtedly very precious.”

Hearing this, Alka took it back, thought for a moment, and then asked, ”Should we try playing it?”

Hearing this, Chadite shook her head.

”Better not. What if it’s some kind of offensive weapon? For example, the sound it emits might attack one’s spirit, pierce the brain, or something like that.”

Looking at the harmonica in my hand, it seems I’ll have to use the crude method.

The map of the Island appeared in Alka’s hand. His finger brushed over it, landing on the now-dimmed blue dot.

[Caller’s Harmonica] (Acquired)

[Difficulty: Adult]

[Fame: 1]

[Treasure Information: An unnamed captain died in a forgotten place; he once owned a decent music ship.]

[Treasure Acquired: Magic Harmonica - Caller]

This was the crude method. Even for a treasure with no initial information, once it’s acquired, I can deduce some things from the environmental details present when I found it.

Moreover, acquiring the treasure reveals the name of the Magic Item.

With this information, I can roughly guess the Magic Item’s function, or at least determine if it’s harmful.

Of course, this assumes the name isn’t misleading.

The Soul-Trapping Demon Mirror, for example, is a name that severely clouds one’s judgment.

But this treasure actually has Fame?

Over the past six months, I’ve benefited from the fact that many treasure spots weren’t hidden at all, but simply left out in the open.
