Treasure Hunting System： The Ocean Conquerer

Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Evil Spirit Priest

”Wait, there’s danger here!”

As soon as the two jumped down, they heard Jason shouting at them.

Hearing this, they instantly became alert, and the Mirror immediately reflected, fully illuminating the underground secret room. However, they only saw Jason standing not far away and couldn’t see the danger he had mentioned.

It was then that they noticed three skeletons at Jason’s feet. These skeletons wore some metal equipment and some not completely shattered fabrics and held various weapons in their hands.

Seeing the style of these weapons, Alka instantly understood.

”These skeletons are from other Explorers who came here.”

”The fact that they died here indicates there’s danger, and even their teammates didn’t clean up their remains.”

As Jason spoke, he fiddled with a pouch on one of the skeleton’s waists, and some gold and silver jewelry slid out.

Not to mention the skeletons, they didn’t even have time to retrieve the spoils from their teammates before fleeing directly?

Or could the previous group that came here be these few people in front of them?

No, there are too few of them.

At this moment, everyone felt a Coldness, as if a winter wind had suddenly swept through the Silence Room, making them shiver.

This was clearly abnormal, a manifestation of Extraordinary power.

In an instant, the group leaned against each other, back to back, vigilant of their surroundings.

Lucilia’s voice passed through the necklace into Alka’s ear. ”Be careful Alka, it’s a soul, an enemy like a soul. If he doesn’t want to be seen, you can’t see him.”

Lucilia, being a similar soul entity, had noticed the enemy first and immediately warned Alka.

An enemy like a soul? Isn’t that like an Evil Spirit or something? The problem is, how does one destroy such an existence?

Before Alka could think or speak, a cold sensation passed by them.

”AH!”

Jason screamed. Three bloody marks appeared on his left arm, covered by Frost instead of immediately bleeding.

”There’s an enemy, an invisible enemy.”

”Could it be an Evil Spirit? Just like those skeleton-like undead creatures, similar to a soul?” Alka immediately spoke up.

Hearing this, Gami frowned. ”Then what do we do? Creatures like Evil Spirits are hard to eliminate without the right methods.”

Alka had already raised the Locking Device in his hand. It fired bullets with Holy Flame effects.

Thinking normally, it should be able to harm the Evil Spirit, perhaps even have a restraining effect.

Holding the Locking Device, his index finger firmly on the trigger, Alka was completely tense.

Another Coldness attacked.

Alka sensed something and immediately moved sideways. But he was still a step slow. The clothing at his waist was torn with three slits, luckily not touching his skin.

Jason covered his left arm, frowning tightly. ”Now we can’t even see them! How are we supposed to fight unseen enemies?!”

Perhaps the enemy had grown smarter, as the surrounding Coldness became more obvious. The cold would numb their bodies, dulling their senses and making them unable to respond to enemy attacks.

This time, without any additional perception, Alka frowned, realizing three wounds had been cut on his thigh at some point. The Frost-covered wounds numbed his nerves.

”Shield!”

Gami shouted, extending two of his four tentacles and pressing them against Alka and Jason’s backs. A thin layer of blue Shield enveloped the two, like a thin film of flowing water.

Meanwhile, the open cockpit had been fully closed, hiding everyone inside the vehicle.

”Good opportunity!” With the Shield, Jason showed a slight grin.

He pulled off his necklace, revealing a coin the size of half a palm. As Magic Power flowed in, the Gold Coin emitted a milky white light.

”Energy Sweep.”

Milky white Energy spread from the Gold Coin, rapidly rippling outward. It was Jason’s Spell, etched onto the Gold Coin for his use.

”AAAAAAH!” Torturous screams echoed. Through the Energy ripples, everyone’s eyes were drawn to where the sound originated.

The enemy finally revealed himself: a Priest wearing Holy Mother Church robes. His body was a faint, eerie green, surrounded by white mist laced with ice crystals. His expression was bloodthirsty and sinister like an Evil Spirit, hands claw-like.

Seeing the enemy reveal his form, Alka fired a round from the Locking Device without hesitation. The blast, infused with Holy Flame, instantly penetrated the soul’s chest. A huge hollow appeared in the center of the soul’s body.

The soul’s scream became even more torturous, its expression painfully distorted before it vanished again.

”Is he dead?” Jason asked beside him.

Alka shook his head. ”Be careful. He’s not dead yet; he’s still around us.”

As soon as he spoke, the Coldness gathered around them again, confirming Alka’s words.

Wait.

Saying this, Alka suddenly thought of something. It was Lucilia who had told him if the enemy was dead or not.

Meaning Lucilia could see the enemy.

Thinking of this, Alka lifted the Locking Device and, with his other hand, raised the handgun. The bullets in the handgun were also inscribed with Spells possessing Divine Power.

He opened his mouth and said directly, ”Point me in the direction!”

He couldn’t directly ask, but the words were somewhat ambiguous, like a way to activate some kind of Spell.

And Lucilia in the Magic Mirror instantly understood Alka’s meaning. ”Yes, that’s also possible! Why didn’t I think of it sooner?”

”He’s directly in front of Jason!”

The instant Lucilia’s voice came, Alka immediately turned the handgun and pulled the trigger without hesitation. A bullet flew from behind Jason, passed by his ear, and hit the air directly in front of him.

With the hit, the enemy briefly revealed a faint shadow, then forcibly concealed his form once more.

Jason saw this and immediately asked, ”Can you see the enemy?”

Alka ignored him, the Locking Device in his hand already aimed at the enemy’s last known position.

”BANG!”

This time it was in diffusion mode, bullets spreading across an area.

”AAAAAAH...”

The miserable scream revealed the enemy’s figure; this was another heavy blow. As he revealed his form again, several more bullets directly penetrated his spectral body.

Jason and Gami didn’t waste this opportunity, unleashing the ammunition from their firearms.

Amidst the screams, the enemy turned into green smoke and disappeared into the air. The Coldness around quickly faded.

”This time... this time he should be dead, right?” Jason couldn’t help but ask.

Alka nodded. ”He should be dead this time.”

Upon hearing this, Jason sighed heavily, relaxing completely. An invisible enemy brought far more psychological pressure than imagined.

As they relaxed, Jason and Alka couldn’t help but hiss in pain. The wounds on their bodies sent painful sensations, stimulating their brains.

As the Evil Spirit disappeared, the Frost on the wounds began to fade, and blood slowly flowed out.

Seeing this, Gami quickly pulled out two rolls of bandages and handed them over. ”Quick, emergency treatment first! Use Magic Power to seal a circle around the wounds.”

Both took the bandages. First, they used Magic Power to seal the area around the wounds, quickly stopping the blood loss. The pain faded substantially.

They took out the medicine Vanessa had prepared for them earlier, sprinkling powder from the Potion bottle onto the wounds. Only then did they wrap them up with bandages.

After simply treating the wounds, they stood up and took a breath.

Frowning, Jason thought about the recent battle and then said, ”That Evil Spirit’s appearance... he must have been the Priest here, right? I didn’t expect even the Holy Mother’s followers could be corrupted into undead by this power.”

”It’s been too long. The erupting darkness has long since blocked external forces. May he rest in peace.”

Gami walked out of the cockpit, crossed his arms over his chest, and prayed briefly. Muttering under his breath, he seemed to be performing some prayer for the Priest who had turned undead.

The other two also performed the same action. After all, they were all believers in the Holy Mother and even members of the Holy Mother Church.

After completing this, they approached the remains left behind by the Explorers who had died here earlier. The bones did not show any obvious wounds.

They carefully searched around.

”These people’s haul is quite substantial,” Alka said, looking at the pile in front of them.

Just three people, yet they had scavenged at least ten pounds of various treasures.

Necklaces and jewelry, and some torn-off decorations, still bearing break marks.

These items would fetch at least two or three Golden Sails when sold, but compared to the dangers they faced, it seemed somewhat disproportionate.

Upon hearing this, Jason smiled sarcastically. ”If the gains weren’t substantial, why would there be so many daredevils seeking to reap wealth in here?”

Think about it, that’s the wealth left by two nations.

The darkness erupted so suddenly; those near the core area died without resistance.

Peripheral people could only flee, leaving countless treasures in the darkness-shrouded sea.

However, Alka wasn’t concerned about this. He cared more about the absence of the most crucial outline on the pile of bones.

Seeing those few skeletons, he thought that perhaps some of the deceased had possessed Magic Items.

Only a ring that seemed valuable had a white light outline, indicating it was the item represented by a white dot.

And the blue dot? Where could the blue dot be?

The Priest... right, the Priest’s skeletal remains hadn’t been found.

His soul had turned into an Evil Spirit here; could it be possible that his skeletal remains were also here?

”Was this Priest a Contact?” Alka turned and asked the two.

Jason shook his head. ”Unknown. Who would know that?”

”Possibly,” Gami mused. ”The Island is quite large. Judging by the ruins, many people lived here. The Priests responsible for such areas are usually retired Contacts.”

Upon hearing this, Alka nodded, recalling Priest Parker on Golden Wheat Island.

”What about the Priest’s skeletal remains then? If he became an Evil Spirit, it means his remains must have fallen somewhere. It’s best to bury him.”

On hearing Alka’s words, both nodded.

”This is the Silence Room. It’s likely he’s here.”

Gami said, stretching out several tentacles to touch a nearby stone wall.
